sometimes it's like throwing darts until you find the thing that works. Layne talked about how hard it was to get his arms to grow and that the amount of volume, variation, and work to failure that he had to do isn't something he'd ever recommend to someone else unless they had absolutely exhausted all other options but it was the only thing he could do to help put on size IIRC. I've had a similar experience there. My legs might grow or atrophy more in a year than my arms will in my entire life lol.
Years ago I had my best leg gains during a full body 3x week program.
Squats were just 1 warm up set of 10 and 3 working sets of 6 adding 5lbs each work out. I would occasionally add a leg press or a deadlift.
I was doing a lot of power cleans that year and I was wrestling doing a tournament almost every weekend and having regular matches during the week.
100% natty, only supplements were creatine, n2large weight gainer and sometimes zma and glutamine.
To make it even worse lol, 90% of my diet was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and whole milk.
I would wake up, eat cereal and fill a gallon jug with water and creatine.
Lift and then have a n2large scoop mixed with red powerade.
During the school day I would eat 4 or 5 PBJ with 4 or 5 cartons of milk.
Salami grinder and a banana for lunch and eat whoever didn't finish there lunch lol.
After wrestling practice I went to work and would eat chicken or steak with pasta or potatoes for dinner almost every night.
I wish I was a teenager again lol
