Training log revamp ROUND 3 lol

That's the direction I think he's going and I probably would anyway eventually. I got access to some strong man equipment too.

I’m not saying you need to go full strongman, I just think some high boxsquats focusing on explosively driving your hips to come off the box, and some push presses and cleans, can do a lot to maintain a lot of dense muscle tissue and train better rate of force development with minimal overall volume. The answer is always 5 sets of 3 with very short rests when not trying to add size.

But some sandbag carries until your lungs and muscles scream for oxygen never made anyone weaker, either.

You do need to shave those bad boys tho. If they have vascularity they deserve to be seen it'll be weird at first( trust me) but when you see what they really look. I always get compliments on mine from the black and Mexican chicks at my gym I just tell them I wish I had the glutes to match ( white man genetics) lol

I try not to shave my lower body too much. I got that super thick coarse hair, very uncomfortable when it starts growing back and it takes forever to shave it 2-3x week. Plus I work out in sweat pants most the time. And my girl thinks it's super weird when I shave my legs. I personally don't mind the look tho
 
I shaved my ass last time before I went on vacation. Not fun when you got that prickly 5:00 shadow hair growing in your ass crack 😂😂😂
 
Got my actual meals plan. We're starting everything the day after Christmas and doing a 8 week diet because it's looking like nothing will pop up till around then anyways.

Medium days are 250p/250c/80f = 2720
Low days are less then 100 carb and balance the calories with added fat or a mix of protein and fat, dosent really matter but he wants it more fat so that we're not giving the body a extreme extra amount of protein that it's just gonna turn it to carbs anyway.
High day is 500 carbs and lower the fat.

Trying to constantly stay between 2700-2800 calories. It's looking like maintenance is about 3100-3200 at the moment

Oh yea that's all bad. I don't have that kind of hair. I remember my wife always use to say why do you even shave your arms you have such soft blonde hair you can't even see it. Yet on my head I have the thickest coarsest hair even at 40 years old ( thabk God I really do feel bad for bald guys)

I’ve either been blessed or cursed with a whole lot of hair, depending on how you look at it. The good thing for me is my wife loves a hairy chest.
She understands shaving it for the summer, but she wants me to keep it for the winter. But oh man, back in the day trying to keep everything clean shaven was a chore.😎

Half the guys on this forum would call that bad genetics. There's like 20 threads on here with guys looking to grow more body and facial hair. Depends how you look at it I guess. I'm somewhere in the middle, but I wouldn't mind having less body hair. It's not excessive but I don't like having to maintain it when it's shave time. It's very time consuming.

Really? That's weird. Now it's to the point where it's like a hygiene thing to me. When I have body hair I feel dirty like I've been up for days on meth and haven't taken a shower
 
There's a ton of threads on here with guys praying epiandro or some dht based drugs are going to give them a beard
 
Yes, I know and I've seen the threads. I was just commenting on the part, if people would consider Mike's genetics to be good, regarding him not having any back- or asshair. While some people would want to have more bodyhair in certain areas and are trying to increase the growth of their bodyhair, I'd bet they still think it's a nice thing to not have back- or asshair.

And while you can't determine where your increased bodyhair growth will take place, you can still hope to grow a thicker beard and more chest hair and to not have much of an impact on back and on the no-man's-land. I'm sure some people rock a strong thick beard, while having no backhair and a comfortable amount of asshair.

This obviously isn't a topic, that's worth a lot of back and forth, lol! 😃 But that's just where I was coming from.

Lol, I wasn't saying having back an ass hairs could genetics. I'm literally laughing out loud while I'm saying this. I was talking more about the ability to grow hair in general overall. I also feel like most blonde hair guys don't really have a lot of body hair to begin with and they look completely normal without that extra body or facial hair. But when you got a guy who has black or dark hair, who can't grow a beard or has no chest hair it just seems kind of weird looking and that's what I think most of these threads are about.

If I woke up tomorrow and had all my body hair removed and never had to shave it again I don't think it would bother me outside of the beard. I look extra creepy without my facial hair

Yeah, I completely understand the desire to have more bodyhair for some people. I'm happy, that my beard has finally started to grow evenly and 'properly' in the last few years, lol. I think I look much better with a shortish beard. Something like between 3 - 10 days it's when it looks the best to my eye. Then it slowly starts to look a bit 'untidy' and not so good.

People can of course do what ever they like and how they feel about their looks is what matters, but IMO shaved shins shining in the sunlight on a man would look weird, for example, lol.

Okay, I'm kind of lost on where I'm at on this entire forum lately. I've been trying not to complain too much but I've been on a long streak of 12 to 16 hour days. Yesterday I was gone from 4:00 in the morning till 8:00 at night. But, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I asked these guys if they'd give me a layoff for like 6 to 8 weeks so I could take a break and they said yes. So I'm off tomorrow and I may have to go in Friday and work a couple hours and pick up my checks but after that I'm laid off I got some side jobs of my own that need to get done and they told me when I'm ready to come back just give him a call. So in the meantime, it's time to catch up on some sleep and then really get to work and see how much progress I can make in the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Right on bro..that's one thing I do miss about working for a small business or sole proprietor..cool things like that..I've been working for o reily auto parts in one of the warehouses here in NoCal and it has its benefits but there's days I miss working for a small business like i did back I'm Detroit

It's not really a small business, we build Bridges LOL, it's a multi-million dollar company but where union workers so even if they lay you off you don't really lose your job you just leave that company. But what we do with the pile driving and shoring is kind of a niche aspect of the trade and there's not a lot of guys who do it. Also because this company does so much traveling and works crazy hours they're very used to guys getting burnt out so they have a hard time keeping guys who are willing to travel. So they're letting me go because I'm asking to go and they'll most likely bring me back whenever I'm ready to go back because they won't have any other choice LOL, I mean they will have choices but because of the scope of work they do and all the traveling it's nice for them to know they have a guy who's willing to travel and do the job. There's a couple guys that work for this company who have been here for 8 years or longer, then there's another few guys who have been here for about a year and a half and it's pretty much a revolving door outside of them one of the crane operators told me over the past year and a half he's seen at least a hundred people come and go.

It's a good thing about being a union worker is you can always go to another company and there's actually a strong possibility that something closer to my house will open up for a different company and I may end up going to do that sorry I'm driving on the highway right now and using talk to text and I just realized I've been mumbling for a while

That's it, and it's not just been stressing me out it's kind of stressing everybody in my house out and I'll be honest, it's really depressing being gone all day like this like you get up and it's dark outside and then you get home from work and it's dark outside my girls mad at me all the time because I'm never around other than what I'm sleeping the kids are mad at me all the time because I miss all of the school functions, and even I get mad at myself because just to make it to the gym for five times a week I'm blowing off dinner with my family because if I don't go right as soon as I get home from work and then I eat dinner first, that would mean I eat dinner around 6:30 7:00 go to the gym around 8:39 by the time I got home from the gym it would be 10:30 what am I going to go to sleep at 11:00 and get up at 3:00?

So yeah I'm going to take a little break and I'm actually going to get cracking probably next week I've already been sticking to the diet plan I just haven't been putting a lot of effort into the gym during the week. So my body weight has been staying the same my body composition appears to be improving a little bit but the scale weight hasn't really been going down because I haven't been burning a lot of calories, at least not in comparison to how I normally do

Sometimes you just have to have a break, especially when it’s affecting your family and personal life. It’s good you’re in a union and have a skill set that’s in demand, and sounds like when you’re ready the company is more than willing to take you back…..sounds like a win/win to me. This will give you the opportunity to train the way you would like and keep the little lady and kids happy.👍

I was doing the same thing leaving when dark and not getting home till dark to tired to do anything. And because of this I was too tired to spend quality time with my wife on the weekends because I was too tired this led to me not realizing how sick she was getting until it was too late and yiu know what happened after. Please don't make the same mistake I did because trust me it'll haunt me for the rest of my life. Don't mean to get to deep but your post sounded eerily similar to the beginning of 2021 for me

Thanks man, obviously my situation isn't the same as yours, but a lot of what you said is a big part of things and your 100% right.

Being gone from dark till dark, day after day, kids mad because I missed school stuff, girl mad because I'm too tired to do anything around the house and when the weekends come I'm so beat I hit the gym and then don't do anything productive besides grocery shopping. It's pushing everyone away and I know it's a issue. Even tho I think it's not fair for them to be mad at me for working hard, it's not fair for me to pay no attention to anyone or not do anything else besides work and gym.

I'm lucky I have various job opportunities to rotate through. I make a decent amount regardless of which job I do but only my union jobs are benificial to my family, retirement, insurance ect.

But I think I have a good balance if I pay attention to everything. I can dig down and knock out these 4-5 month stints where I bust ass 60 hours a week, fall back and do something easy for 2 months and then buckle down again. As long as I'm getting my union stuff done like 8 months out of the year il get my credits and benifits.
 
So far today I woke up at 430, went to Dunkin donuts at 630 for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich and back to bed till about 1030. Now I gotta eat again and idk what to do with myself lol. Relax I guess and hit the gym later. I just asked this dude if he can send me everything he thinks I need and we start a little early on this.

Figure that having 8 weeks off is a good time to do a 8 week diet.

That sounds like a good solid routine bro. One that I think will make everyone happy. You still get to hit the gym which is obviously important but also make the wife and kids happy which is important as well. With less stress and less work I think you'll find recovery and gains will come quicker than normal

I realized I'm always chiming in on the same old threads that never go anywhere, half the time the person just wants to argue and then they dissapear before they get 100 posts, sometimes they disappear right after that thread or even the initial question. Why do I keep wasting my time.

Or on the flip side, the person actually does want my advice and then they start to dm me 15 times a day with random questions. Which I have no problem answering but it turns into a ongoing 3 months of answer every question under the sun.

So, my new resolution is to not interact with 5million threads.

But I'm gonna start today.

Yeah I developed a rule of not clicking on anything that didn’t interest me a long time ago. I either need to believe I’ll be entertained, or that there’s a good chance I could somehow make a positive difference in someone’s day.

All the threads of people wanting to run 10mg LGD solo thinking they’re special and this is all they’ll ever need etc. Or people just asking about things that won’t matter in the slightest in the scheme of things.

A lot of the training & supplement questions are as bad or worse than the PED ones. People asking foundational questions looking for unique overly-complicated answers. People worried about what tricep extension is best or how many to do weekly that have 14” arms & refuse to get under a barbell and build a base. Or what preWO powder to buy, but they haven’t strung together 8 training sessions in the last month.

Yep, that's pretty much it in a nutshell. I have a guy I'm trying to work with right now who asks sooo many irrelevant questions it's hard to keep up.

Il use your triceps example, I give him a basic routine that's a 3-day split hitting the full body and he's concerned with not being able to fully develop any of these muscles because he's only doing one or two exercises per body part, but he is 150lbs and has no muscle, like none. His physique is similar to a skinnyfat 14 year old boy.

Ive tried every angle to explain to him it's not necessary yet to do tricep kick backs and all these different angles. I've tried explaining how (he thinks I have a good physique) but I'm not at a point where it's even necessary to worry about hitting one specific muscle from every angle imaginable, I probably have 50lbs of muscle on you and I could probably put on 25 more before I need to worry about all the little details.

He wants to know about what supplements will help, but he can't stick to any training or meal plan constantly. So no supplements will help. I've even pushed him to drink protein shakes because I know he can't even consistently eat 3 meals a day, never mind the 5 I want him to eat. But he's concerned with carbs to fat ratios.
