Squats came alive on the last set so added a couple reps.

I have never really taken leg press serious but 5 plates a side on the h/s for ten is likely a PR, at least since high school when we would have a buddy lie on it lol.

Was spent for hacks, which I'm already a total newb with. Took them deep tho, felt awesome. I bet I've done hack squats legit maybe a half dozen times in my life so this is a new machine, new movement for me. It's so incredibly difficult but I think I'm learning the ROM/form and what I'm supposed to get out of it. as I got my foot positioning better, knees tracking and found some really good depth it felt like that explosive "jump" position.

hacks have been leaving me feeling more destroyed than anything else we've been doing, so while it might just be because it's novel, it has been a really nice addition this week. makes the session feel much more effective.

I don’t really like them, but hacksquats can put some size on for sure - they will blast the thighs in different ways from basically any stance and depth.

yeah I'm still learning them, they're very awkward for me right now but the days I add in hack squats I have that accomplished I-need-a-wheelchair feeling. so I'm really happy with them at the moment...
 
woke up at 188.6 today, back under that magic 190 number. Which feels great because yesterday I was pounding protein all day before the gym, then finished the night off with beef burgers at moms house. I was careful with portions, but typically I weigh in 1-2lbs heavier after a dinner at moms, not 1-2lbs lighter, lol.

I feel like I have earned todays rest day. Hopefully the M's can take a game back from the Yanks today...

@SkRaw85 building from Hydes thread, I might try to throw in some smith machine next work after your's and his comments about it for hypertrophy, I'm open to any suggestions or tips you guys have on the topic though. When I threw them down in AZ a couple weeks ago out of necessity I felt like it was hard to find the correct ROM to not irritate the shoulders; (which is ironic to me cause I see guys all the time say they move to smith because regular bench causes them injury, whereas I'm feeling fortunate that bench has been very good to me the past few years).

If you bench with a wider grip I’d maybe bring it in to really isolate tris. Find the perfect grip setup before loading up heavy and banging them out

Protein has come a long way. The chocolate stuff my wife gets at Costco (24g I think) blends really really easily in the morning coffee. Back in the day I could never make that work.

was that June of 2024 or June of 2023? I can't even remember right now, lol. But yes the Joint XT came into play as I ended my epiandro run back then and the elbows cleared right up. I have had them flare a bit when taking my squats very serious in the past and I've been going hard all Sept so the body has taken some abuse.

I'm with Hyde, the gear cream is pricey, but seems to be very effective. I'm cautiously looking forward to the next few months natty to thicken the scalp up but also see what it feels like to be off the GC. Reason being is when first went on gear cream I had that sense of euphoria etc, but it just feels absolutely totally normal to be on it now, I don't even notice it anymore. However, I'm a bit leaner. My strength gains with a 15lb cut have been almost 100% preserved (plus a squat PR), and my training sessions are fire. I'd be tempted to run gear cream another month if the hair shedding wasn't still pretty strong.

I'm only like 5 days into Alpha One but it does seem like its hitting hard, so far I'm impressed!
 
I hope your hair thickens up although that is not the way it normally works. Once DHT shrinks the hair follicles to a certain point here is nothing I know of that will reverse it from there. DHT use is something as an older user you will likely lean on a bit if you end up going to the dark side. It is about the healthiest / lower sides out of the 3 classifications. Have you been using minoxidil to slow or stop hair loss? if not that would be the first go to in trying to lower, or eliminate the shedding and get anything that has shrunk a bit to possibly start repairing the follicle and allowing for regrowth. Also, if you don't have male pattern baldness in your genes then yes you may shed a decent bit, but you will not become more bald than you would if you didn't use them, just get to that point faster if that makes any sense. So if going bald is a concern look at your family and see if that is a real concern or if you are just likely shedding some extra hair that is going to fall out later anyway.

I had a different one that was a spray about 12-18months ago that seemed to thicken things back up, it's only in the very middle of the top of the head as far as I can tell. the spray one I can't find anymore so it seems discontinued or something. This one had some pretty good reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. no baldness in my family.

Its one of those things that I'm not super concerned about, if it happens, it happens but at the same time if it's something I can sorta improve on my own a bit then I'll give it the effort. like when I use my wifes face moisturizer 😅


I've been on the gear cream so long now it's hard to remember but it does seem like everytime I take a few months off and go fully natty I see less hairs in my hands when I'm showering. it's not a lot but I'd like a few months as a reality check.

I can't do the wing thing on the sides. although the girl who cuts my hair said she has a client with a skullet that gets it died blue regularly so that's sorta cool.

well my mom says if I'm thinning it's a sign of high testosterone, so she's proud of me 😅
My wife and I have a long standing deal/agreement. no botox for her, no injecting for me.
Funny thing is now if I were to say OK and we agreed to break the deal, she has become incredibly even MORE cautious about things since her cancer last year.

Of course if you take Trest your wife won’t get any rest.😜

She doesn't now lol.
I wouldn't tell her these thing would make it worse haha.

Oh yeah, when you start taking things that work well, it is really hard not to enjoy and wonder what happens if you turn up the heat. Only issue there is after bumping up so far the cost gets prohibitive and the ability for the conversion can suffer a little bit. Then you start looking at SARMs, other orals that are old banned designer steroids, or just trying some real gear. unforutnately the healthiest version is the one that most people hold off on thinking since a needle is involved it is more severe. However injection based cycles are far safer than methylated oral ones. That being said, if you ever make the jump and don't want a needle I recommend Anavar if you can source it.

I have my goals on the bench every day, but then I have my thoughts on accessories and on days like today I give a lot of thought to your approach and things you have said and done with lighter weight, higher reps, additional sets etc. sometimes just starting slow out of the gate but committing to volume really gets the dopamine going and wakes the beast a bit!

I can't help but to wonder how much I'd explode if I took the cut down as deep as I can then brought gear cream back next year with a surplus. I truly think the GC did absolutely amazing things despite the nutritional deficit I offered in return.

Yeah when you find something that works it does get you to thinking what else you may respond too…..and really that’s the key seeing what your body responds to with the least amount of negative sides. Since you responded to Gear Cream as good as you have, you probably will be a good responder to stronger gear. I do think as cautious as you seem to be that you’re probably one that won’t go to far. If you do decide to go deeper, only with your wife on board of course, I always recommend starting out with Test only. That way you can see how you respond, how much may be needed for a good cycle, and any sides you may have. Honestly, Test is really the “safest” steroid, and Test only cycles yield good results for those just starting to cycle.

I went from a fat 242, to a skinny 168 (running 5ks etc), back up to about 198 for a few years, then hung at 180 FOREVER, with 172 being my leanest. Now days when I look back at pictures from me in 2016 in the 170s i was way too skinny. I'm sorta surprsied nobody said anything. by my current standards I looked damn near unhealthy but I was actually pretty strong for how skinny I looked. Sorta. like 320 squat, 275bench, 450 deadlift. Nothing to write home about but if I get to where I'm feeling "skinny" like that again, man that seems like a great time for the body to be pounded with nutrients and gear cream.

gear cream also upped my appetite so I had to fight that a little bit, but I feel like it increased my metabolism. I'm certain in my 2 months of using it even though my total body weight is only down like 8lbs I think that I am noticeably bigger. total weight loss from June till now is like 12-15lbs depending on the day, but since gear cream its like 8-10. my shirts fit better, my pants are super loose in the waist, my belts are all a notch further in, but I think my delts and arms grew a lot, and since bringing squats back into the regiment my upper legs are improved again.

if I do it again I might be more OCD about it with some starting point measurements. this run was "just for fun". I enjoyed it and worked very hard, but my end goal was honestly just to feel and look a bit better and leaner and I do feel like I'm there. Of course, I want to go further, but I'm happy with my progress so far!

Fuckered myself a little bit this week. was going to do rest/squat/deads/bench and flipped it because of scheduling with my lifting buddy to rest/deads/bench/squats and yesterday ended up working pretty much 5am to 5pm then appointment date with the wife. Ive prepared my stuff to get a session in today if I can, but might be Saturday squats for me.

I've adjusted nutrition a bit to account for the lack of output, weight was 187 this morning.
Funny thing is, I'm feeling pretty exhausted so this might be a better setup anyways for a better session Saturday.

I don't know about you guys but work always seems like feast or famine. Some days you simply can't find enough hours in the day, other days it feels like you could put a mannequin at your desk and sneak out the back 😅 😅

We had pizza last night at the local Italian joint for a cheat/reset but funny thing is with all the water I had pounding supplements, and the salad we got with it, I was stuffed after only a couple slices. So in actuality I don't think calorie count was very high.

Woke up at 189.

Walked into the gym out of discipline, feeling a bit like a meme after missing two days of iron. After my first warm up set instantly started coming alive and felt great.

It's always a matter of getting that first set in for me. No matter how shitty I feel if I can get in the door and start the process, the process wins.

Golf game at 7am tomorrow/Sunday

Planned work is back/pull/biceps so threw in extra credit triceps today for the pump fun
