To Infinity.... and Beyond!

I remember during my BB show prep I looked amazing with my shirt off. Like bad ass, but I was also like 183 @ 5ish% so in my shirt I just looked like I like to exercise. I got less looks in clothing then, but shocked people with my shirt off. When I finished the show and ate for a couple weeks and was at a relatively lean 192-195 the women all started complimenting me and telling me I looked better with the weight on.
🤔🤔

sounds familiar. now that I think of it, during my sub 10% xfit days I never wore a shirt LOL so for the last 5 years being that lean was pointless 😅😅

Yeah you had to tell me to put a shirt on or wear something other than a wife beater if you wanted me dressed up when I was lean. Once I get leaner it will be the same way I am sure. Heck I even take my shirt off on my walks at lunch to get extra sun and Vit-D but I am not aesthetically pleasing now unless you like the big bear look.

You got the grey chest hair to match the full big bear look on the afternoon shirtless promenades ???

Used to golf with a guy who did NOT lift and had a good sized gut, probably 60-80lbs overweight

When we hit Boise in the heat on a business trip by the second hole he announced we are playing skins vs shirts lol

Rips his shirt off and finishes the round topless

Not a pretty mental picture !!

Oh yeah I do, and a lot of it is white as snow! It will grow fast and peak up out of my shirt so I tend to trim it down to a 2-3 every 6 weeks or so even if I am chubby and soft.

Haha Bert Kreischer Style!

Now it isn't a pretty real picture either!

So no dermacrine in like 1.5-2 weeks
No itchy nips this morning or last night

Haven't had UH since Thursday preWO
But I have been taking Steve's anabolic XT

Just had a fat diner breakfast. Biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs and I had them throw an extra egg on to protect the gainz lol.

Libido is through the roof. Wife must be liking the plumper pecs too, getting positive responses.

Weighed 183 last Sept. 2022
I'll likely be 200 before end of March (might be 200 now with water weight )

I think I might just go for it and decide if I want to try to accomplish my strength goals at like 199 or keep going.

Might be fun to try to get to 200 then shift gears a little bit, find caloric maintenance and throw in light cardio.

I think a good mile run time +500lb deadlift would be a great level of health and strength for me at 200lbs and age 40/41

The hardest part of the weight gain isn't the abs getting softer and fading, it's actually the discomfort of my fitted work shirts not fitting well.

The other thing is my stiff neck is finally fading and I'm curious to see if that comes back when I go back to UH application on the traps preWO

Sounds like you have a good goal! Nice work!!

Reminds me of Steve Carrell telling Mark Whalburg to keep putting on his shirt in Date Night 😆

Your power cleans are always good it seems. Your form must be pretty spot on.
I have no idea how my pulls out number every other lift like that. My buddy with the 500lb squat (well, 485 for sure) tapped out at 190lbs on the power cleans and was trashed the next day lol. I have to keep a couple things up my sleeve since I can't keep up with the big squatters!

I think I only took two pictures these weekend out at the ocean. Spent the rest of the time eating

Absolutely gorgeous false spring through. Been 65F and sunny. Not something you see often on the Washington coast.Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

Must have been a nice walk out there on the beach.

That’s awesome man! Thank you for the lovely scenery!
Must have been a nice walk out there on the beach.

it exhausted me! funny thing about where we live is that when my wife and I get these spirts of sunshine we crash EARLY.
the seafood fest was good, across the street was a bowling alley so we played a couple games with our friends who travelled with us. we had 3 beers in a couple hours time. THREE. not 6, no shots, just three beers. but between all the walking, sunshine, etc crashed back at the hotel at like 4pm for a couple hours before we woke up and played the longest game of uno known to mankind. Last June we visited vegas for a short weekend to get some sunshine because we had non stop rain in the seattle area.

we spent one day laying out by the pool just soaking in the vitamin D and felt sick that night lol. it just trashed us to get so much sun so quick. we did not drink heavily...

<sticks ultra hard in sock and slinks towards bathroom>

attempting a little experiment. adding UH to biceps/triceps, quads, hammies, and chest. vs in the past I started with traps then worked south as I need to find skin to absorb.

today is the first time in weeks I woke up without any stiff neck pain and since I had the long weekend, I hadn't applied any TDs to my traps in 3-4 days...

Yeah, the sun can wear you out, and walking on sand is just going to wear you out no matter what. Unless well conditioned to it anyway. UNO is a lot of fun. it is easy to forget how fun little things like that are.

Like clockwork, about 30 minutes after application I have the weirdest mental sensation from that UH. nothing negative but just weird like a nicotine buzz kinda

so we have 4 adults in a cheap motel room playing cards, 2 of them are drinking, 2 of us are NOT craving anymore alcohol OR sodium lol. we played a variation called uno flip. my wife wins the first two games in like 8 minutes each.
the third game lasted 90 minutes haha... we got really competitive all the sudden with that uno after my wife won 2 games 😅

You ever play Jackbox games where you use your phones along with the TV> It is so ridiculously fun. Lots of great games and easy to get people to play since it involves their phones too. :)

haha no thats new to me but I may have to look it up cause these folks want to bring back the game night we used to do. I did hit a toy store while we were at the ocean and saw that they made a cards against humanity for kids called "kids against maturity" lol. it was pretty funny but not so offensive ;)

Oh man the Jackbox has some awesome interactive games, stuff where you have to make up BS answers and everyone votes on them. Make up facts, solve puzzles, see who has the best quips. Just a ton of fun!

you ever play balderdash? reminds me of that !
I used to love balderdash because I'm great at bullshitting lol 😅

it's like a coffee jitteriness but without the discomfort of too much caffeine. I did use 5 pumps today which I think is the first time I went over 4.

Yes there are parts of it just like that, some are like puzzles and brain teasers, others are about giving an answer to a question that can be correct or a lie and they have to guess which. Some games just give you a topic and you have to make up the end and everyone votes on their favorite. Also one cool part is some are team games but the game sets the teams and they change so you don't just have one pair playing together winning all the time on team things.

Oh yeah that sounds like what it should be doing for you energywise. Almost feel like a slight stimulant.

I've been applying the UH 2hrs preWO.
I might play with that timing a little bit. maybe tomorrow I'll try like immediately preWO and on Thursday maybe I'll try in the morning at 5am for my 11am lift 6hrs later... unless y'all have any thoughts/advice on that.

I could swear someone else said they just put it on at night but I feel like I wouldn't' sleep if I did that.

My Grand Daughter Loves UNO, I bet she would like Kids Against Maturity, I may have to look for it!

I just sent my daughter an email, I want to make sure they don't already have it, before I buy it.

Get overhead fluorescent lighting at the house. TADA!!!!

Also nice session!

Get overhead fluorescent lighting at the house. TADA!!!!

haha so true. the lighting in our bathroom at home is too intense. my wife has some other mirror next to the front door that I can see myself in from the bedroom and I'm like... yeah baby is this what other people see??? 😅😅😅😅😅

Also nice session!

Thank you Sir! wanted to throw the bands on for heavier sets from the top but the gym has 2 styles of squat racks and the one I need for banding from the top was in use so after my top rep, I figured lets add 5lbs from last weeks 5 rep and smash some linear progress. felt so good. I think I had 6+ reps in me. when I dropped to the 225 it was probably the best 10 rep set I've ever had in my life. they were fast and I didn't find myself needing to stop for breaks at the top. front squats went up like 15 or 20lbs as well I think.

I did briefly weigh 200lbs Sunday when we got home. that's my first time seeing that in over a decade so this has been a total change in mentality for me.

Just keep killing it like you have and those numbers will climb!

I think my caloric baseline could very well be close to 3k now (where as I wasn't losing weight at 1700 last sept).

Weight this morning 195lbs.
Yesterday 2750 calories
242g pro
243g cho
63g fats

to be fair, some of that protein was collagen that I have with my breakfast / coffee.
some of the fats are fishoil

That sounds like a good thing !

Super good!
it's been a 180 degree shift in my mentality when I see weight dropping on the scale and realize I now have to work as hard to eat enough calories as I used to have to work to remove calories 😅

I think I will in the next 6-8 weeks attempt a very tight month or so in nutritional discipline but I haven't exactly decided what that looks like or what my goal is....

as Hyde pointed out, me having to weigh 300lbs to bench 300lbs isn't THAT impressive lol. so I want to make sure my weight gain is intentional and effective towards strength goals...

May it all be muscle !!! 🙏

With your current gains you could probably drop about 200 from where you have been averaging and recomp a bit while still making moves strengthwise.

Man, my gym and home mirror does the same exact thing. What is that? Gym has skinny mirrors, or are those accurate?

I would believe which ever one you look the best in !!

OK so it just occurred to me I didn't even attempt a PR today (290lbs) even though 275 went up pretty easy. I had it in my head I wanted 275 x 5, THEN go for 300. But now I'm thinking maybe next week I'll do this exact same thing but attempt adding 5lbs until I can't.

😅😅 I signed up at a local LA Fitness cause they have a good weight room and it's 5 minutes from my office! My choice power lifting gym is 90minutes away... it's on the way home but after the commute I'm exhausted and last spring I kept getting kicked off the racks so they could teach a pre-teen lifting class and I was like nope, I'm out.

Those are the only 2 worthwhile gyms near you?

You don’t have to attempt PRs, just because you think you are probably good for it. Just keep training - as your strength increases, you will be able to reach out and TAKE them confidently as part of your training.

There are a handful of powerlifting gyms "in the area" but the i5 corridor of Seattle-Tacoma has turned into LA as all the californians moved up here lol. So when I leave work between 3-4pm it can take 1-2hrs to get anywhere. staying in the town where my office is lets me get a good session in while I'm fresh then hit the highway after rush hour is gone and I still end up getting home like an hour earlier than when I used to drive to the gym by my house after work.

plus... I can get lunch time sessions in lately! which has been optimal for energy levels.

I'm feeling much much better with the heavier weights now after spending so much time focusing on 225, but I can tell that I need to practice heavy weights more. the hardest part about 300 and 315 today was honestly just unracking it. with the SS both weights were so easy I knew I could have gone up even higher. I agree with you though. I'm just chompin' at the bit ready to go after the next target since I hit that 225 x 10 I wanted so badly.

heavy weight is starting to feel much better though. I don't feel so "thin" for lack of better term, when pushing heavier weights around.
