Time to MonteGROW like a Finaflex Freak!

Your plan is good but your opinion of your level of musculature is skewed for a Regional show. It isn't like you are doing a Nationals show right off. There will be some guys on stage that are not even 8%, some of them won't be as big as you. Second your best bet would be to do an earlier show if you can, the ones that the experienced guys use for warm ups and don't come in as top notch as later in the year. The later in the year it is the better condition you tend to see the athletes in. August isnt too bad but we have a lot of shows around here from May through July.

When you look at Snags you see him and think DAMN! Well he is already a National level competitor who is going for his Pro Card. Don't sell yourself short and don't miss out on the experience because even if you have the best physique someone who knows how to show will whoop your ass on the stage. Get the experience in some shows while you are working to perfect things. I made the mistake of going in on the Advanced Level with the guys who were going for pro when I competed. Granted my physique was there, well before I got flat. I was in way better condition but my inexperience was my biggest downfall, that and the use of a diuretic when I had no business using one. Diuretics are for people who aren't in condition but are trying to look like they are and they can back fire very easily!

That being said just plan to do a show next year, commit in your mind and do what is needed to come in the best condition with whatever muscle you have built and just soak up the experience. Enter the Novice and you will be shocked how big you are against the others and if you come in crazy condition with good posing the show may be yours.
 
Funny moment at the gym today. Was doing weighted rope crunches and on my sixth set my lower abdominals cramped up and I couldn't straighten out lol. Rolled on my side and back trying to get them unstuck. I literally was in the fetal position for about forty five seconds. Worst pain I've had.com a long time lol. I blame it on not having my BCAA+SAA AND the fact I shaved my head and I always sweat big time after that.

Shoulder session today. I skipped biceps because they are big enough and don't need much direct work anymore. Was a relatively low volume session and again I stayed away from heavy pressing. My front delts are pretty well developed so I will keep focusing on side and rear delts mainly.

That is the first place I cramp, feet and toes. Lets me know when I have been slacking on my water intake

of course that thought would go thru my head too - except for the fact i drink almost water exclusively, and ~1.5g daily (or more, depending on activity level)..would assume there to be another cause

Leg day

Ok so I've decided to ditch leg extensions and leg curls and that accessory crap for a while so I can focus on bigger lifts for legs in hopes of catching them up. These three lifts I did today will be my base from now on while going as heavy as possible. Cut rest down to 60 seconds instead of 90 today to keep the heart rate up. Thought I would lose some strength but it held steady so things are looking up.

Barbell Squat (1 1/2 rep method)
Set 1 : 275.0x8
Set 2 : 315.0x6
Set 3 : 315.0x7
Set 4 : 315.0x7

Leg Press (Feet High, Quads touching chest)
Set 1 : 680.0x8
Set 2 : 680.0x7
Set 3 : 680.0x8
Set 4 : 680.0x7

Hell yeah all you need are compounds to hit the legs hard. I hate doing leg ext/curls ... Worthless. Squats are boss.

1 and 1/2 rep squats eh? never done those with squats, interesting
you could still throw in ext/curls if desired - just have 2 different structured leg days..
different exercises..one heavy day/one lighter with higher rep range..alternate back & forth
great for growth stimulation

1.5's on squats is very rough. A lot of TUT. Ill get some high volume that you are talking about in this coming week when I go back a little lighter.

Kids today out 405 on the bar and I kid you both say down about 4-5 inches for 5 reps. And I think my "parallel" depth is bad. LOL.
