thesinner takes up too many characters: A log of my contest preparation & summer bulk

Back, Biceps and Out-Curl Chad day:

Deadlift: 315*12 365*6 405*1
Long Bar Rows: 135*12 160*10 170*7

Planned on making my first lat injection this morning (even loaded up the larger pins), but for some reason, everyone and their brother was coming in to the gym this morning. Paranoid, I just injected into the calf.

Chad,
Your new # to beat is 75lbs for 5. I think you should be able to do it by the next time you lift....I have faith. Until then, enjoy Aaron Carter.

LMAO thats great, chad is a cute lil boy!!!! keep up on that singing it'll get ya layed eventually....

This song is like bottled water: The very thought of producing it seems asinine, but someone was lucky enough to make a pretty penny off it. OMG, it's so lame that I actually love listening to it, knowing that somewhere someone thought this sounded cool. :toofunny:

Chest and Tri's:
Weighted Dips: 135*12 135*10 150*5
Incline DB Press: 70*15 90*13 100*7
Hammer Strength Bench: 270*15 360*8 360*6
CG Bench/French Curl: 205*10/90*12 205*10/90*13 205*10/100*8
Standing Calf Raise: 345*16

Bodyweight: 183lbs
Tricep injections (into the 'horseshoe') were quick and easy. I like it in the tri.

They were playing that damn song by "The Plain White T's". I HATE this song too much to embed it. [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbJtYqBYCV8"]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/nomedia]

I'll talk about my workout in another post as not to clutter this one (I've got stories!)

Ok, so last night I decided to drive into town and go bar hopping. Keep in mind that thesinner IS NOT a big drinker/partier. Those days have long passed. Anyhow, I definitely got drunk off 2 beers. It was almost as pathetic as the females crowd in the bar I was at. There was seriously only a handful of people there, with a 2.5:1 (guys to girls) ratio, and a 1:0 (guys to attractive girls). So I ended up calling it a night early. :(

Then this morning, I had the most amazing cardio workout.
I did HIIT on the elliptical for 20 minutes to get the ol' adrenals going. And was on f*cking fire with the jump rope this morning. I was seriously like 12 for 15 on triples. It was f-ing sick!

Was runnin' a little late to the gym today, so I didn't finish with higher weights but kept the rest periods to a minimum.

Squat: 225*20 275*18 295*15
Split Squat: 65*12 65*12 65*12
SLDL: 225*12 245*12 245*12
Hack Squat: 270*20 270*20 270*20
Seated Calf Raise: 135*18

Bodyweight today: 184lbs

Upright Row/ Rear Delt Lateral: 135*20/20*23 135*10/20*12 135*12/20*12

Cardio Today:
20 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical
20 minutes of Jump Rope

While I was jumping rope, an older lady came in the "cardio room" to jump rope too. I think my 'mad skills' affected her self-esteem/motivation because she stopped after about 2 minutes.

i've always been interested in jumping rope, but find it is nearly impossible to do........is it something that you just have to keep working at? any tips?

Once you get your timing down, that's when the ball starts rollin'.

You will know when/if I ever get a digital camera because I will start a thread on how to jump rope like me.

I had Liver and Onions (and cheese) for 4 o'clock dinner today. I'm gonna say it's a cheat meal because if that cow's liver looks anything like mine, it can't be good for ya.

Have at it. I'm convinced I've heard them all.

It was fun going around freshman year with a giant gash across my face for about a month. I had knurl imprints on my forehead for about 8 mos.

Did the elliptical for 10 minutes, when a voice inside my head tell me to forget the elliptical and go jump the rope (I think it was Chad because he has ESP, but only on the weekends.). Jumped rope like a bat outta hell for about 40 minutes. Felt great. Some guy noticed my jumproping skills and we had a nice little chat in the lockerroom about 'The World's Most Underrated Exercise".

ever try smith machine calf raises?

get a short box, strap on a belt and pile on like 700lbs...it makes you feel like a giant, believe me, plus it's hard to walk the next day.

You've gotta be careful with those, torque is a funny force. If you've got a crappy box, it'll flip. My standing calf raises have consisted of a Nautlius-style machine (with the pin stacks) and a dipping belt (because the weight only goes up to 300).

Perhaps I'll give these a shot the next time I train calves. Thanks for the suggestion

Elliptical HIIT for only 12 minutes.
Jumped rope for 20 minutes
Walked on the treadmill (max incline) for 15 minutes.

I was feeling kinda tired this morning, and figured I'd go easy today.

you seem to be hitting those calves like a son of a b1tch jumping rope regardless.

184 now huh? moving on up shortstuff. ;)

I can only get 345lbs on the smith machine at my gym to do standing calf raises with. luckily thats more or less my max right now anyhow

my calf strength is disproportionate to everything else. I think it is because i learned and walked on my toes for a few years when I was a toddler/really young...

its actually my strongest too, other than that most weights I lift are more girly ;)

I'm the same way.. My donkey calf raises and seated calves (not that bullsh1t bouncing 1/4 rep sh1t either) are pretty fvckin' heavy. However, my calves are not that big.

For some reason, jumping rope doesn't really get to my calves like it used to. It really kills my shoulders if I jump too long.

Back and biceps
Deadlift: 315*12 355*8 375*4
Long Bar Rows: 135*12 180*5 (could've done more but the other end of the bar lost contact with the wall and toppled. I'm just lucky my balls weren't injured) 205*5
Pulldowns on the Cable Cross (decided to play with vectors today): 60*12 80*12 100*9
Hammer Strength Preacher Curl: 135*11 150*5 110*12(negatives)
Smith Machine Calf Raise: 405*12 405*14
