beast of a program, surely.
i remember last time i ran this, put on some pretty decent size and gained good strength.
my fav part about it is the constant change, i think it's very well designed.

thanks brother.
it's coming along well, very pleased with things.

Is there a template for this new program? I'm feeling a little stale..Lol

there used to be. i don't know anymore.
this is the Freak workout, designed by trainer/coach Jon Doyle.
usplabs had used it in combination with their asteroid stack manual couple yrs back..you can prolly google for a link.
i'll be listing the workout each day as i go, but don't feel like typing the whole thing out right now lol.

Still good separation in your back... you stay pretty lean year round I think. I am going for the same...

TUE 9/18 - day #6
back/tri/shoulders, 5x8-12 w/ 3 supersets
A1) pull-ups ss w/ seated cable rows
A2) dips ss w/ 15% decline skullcrushers
B) standing DB military press ss w/ standing cable lateral raise

another great session early on in this protocol, settling in just fine.

WED 9/19 - day #7 OFF

random shakes of the day:

1 scoop choc myofusion + 1 scoop choc intrapro
3 TBS heavy whipping cream
16oz water

2 scoops cinnamon roll myofusion
1 TBS almond butter
4oz almond milk + 12 oz water

yummy.

day #8
chest/biceps, 12x4
A1) 30-degree incline DB bench press
A2) inclined DB bicep curl

diet has been precise and perfect, weight upon rising today right at 200 after some hardening manipulations.

day #10
back/triceps/shoulders, 12x4
A1) weighted pullups
A2) weighted dips
B) standing DB military press

in my constant experimentation with pre/postWO nutrition, i have come across something lately that is working well..
there are 2 ways i go about this timing currently, depending on my schedule:
either consume a full postWO shake immediately following training (eat an hour later), or
split my shake in half, consuming exact same concoction only 1/2 of it 30min preworkout and the other half immediately when done (still eating an hour later).
so, the shake is like this:
2 scoops EAS recovery protein
2 TBS brown rice syrup
1 scoop intrapro
intellectually, i like the split shake protocol..in practice tho, i prefer the full preWO shake after training.
and - i am not an EAS fan by any means, never really got into any of their products, but this stuff fits the bill well.
(doesn't hurt i picked it up dirt cheap) :)

Can't get over the size and definition of your erectors Snag honestly, what's your Dead lift and Squat looking like these days?

thanks man.
as for numbers - let's just say i'm comfortable where i'm at currently.
i am not a "stongman" or a powerlifter..mid 3's and mid 4's are not impressive, so i don't really focus or report those, as they are all relative to our own goals and growth.
if i hit a PR i'll mention it, but no PRs are happening right now.
fyi however - my focus this off-season is primarily on posterior chain growth/development, so i anticipate great progress here. ;)

I get you :) it is all according to goals, but I do remember we once talked that you have had wishes of lifting heavy, only held back by joints and the fact you would be bigger haha, thought I would ask, and respect if you don't wanna say :) FWIW I think you have a Zeus-Chiseled Back brother, and I had yet to see erectors so well developed and defined yet.

I'm looking forward for the developments you are gonna do to that masterpiece already brother!! :D!

true dat.
heavy to me would be working sets in the mid 5's, touching mid 6's.
i will never be that strong, really no desire to deal with the side effects as you say.

I get yah haha, I have something in me that makes me actually even crave to start having sides of heavy lifting...not injuries of bad form or poor execution, nah I just mean the general joint and body inflammation and severe need to buy Jeans that are lose-legs because they just won't fit lol...I wanna lift huge...might be a dream only, but that's where it starts.

(Side note: if I can be a powerlifter, and look lean, good and well crafted, albeit not as much as you because it would be impossible to achieve for me hehe...I'll be the happiest man on earth :D! Best of both Iron-Worlds)

ahhhh..the unbridled enthusiasm of youth.
[casts a wistful sigh]

after 25yrs+ of training -- even with the BEST of form -- you may be surprised what kind of toll that takes on your body, bud.
much like genetic growth potential of musculature, there is genetic differential in joint/tendon/ligament health as well.

but i don't dissuade you from your goals friend..just give you food for thought.

you mean like this guy?

:D

true freak, right there.

Ironically, that was who I expected to see him when I hit that link.

i would say nice intuition - but, who else could it be when we're talking "lean well-crafted powerlifter..best of both iron-worlds"?

:D

this guy looks fairly decent too, and pretty athletic actually..
when you're on Medicare and still look like he does, you gotta tip your cap to him.

(been a tough yr for him, RIP Sage..no father should have to bury their son)

Thats a well balanced man, aesthetic , powerful and dedicated. I wish I can ever reach that level of perfection.

Sly is a stud for sure.

SUN 9/23
day #11
chest/biceps, 5x8-12 w/ 3 supersets
A1) 30-degree incline DB bench ss w/ standing cable crossovers
A2) incline bicep curls ss w/ preacher ez-bar curls

MON 9/24
day #12
off

Looking full and beastly Snags! Your back is in awesome condition for being back up at 200. I need to bring my happy azz back down to 200, sitting at 212 as of this morning. However give me about 8-12 weeks and I think I will be right where I want to be at least until I hit up a contest or something.

hey good to see ya drop by my friend.
i have no doubt you'll be where you need to be, when you want to be there. ;)

weight was 201.5 upon rising this morning, as i swing back into gain mode..and i have felt listless and drained all day on this day of rest.
hopefully that is a blip from all this exertion and just needing a "down day", and not my growing accustomed/dependent on Axon.
(i don't use this on my off days)

My stack has me feeling the lethargy in a big way right now. I'm trying to keep the stim usage to a minimum.

lethargy sux.
i'm in the last week of my stack, been fine thruout..yesterday appears to be a blip on the radar as i feel fine today.

last day of training in the initial 2-week 'acclimation phase' of the Freak..day off tomorrow, then we hit the second half of month #1.

day #13
back/triceps/shoulders, 5x8-12 w/ 3 supersets
A1) pullups ss w/ bent over rows
A2) dips ss w/ rope tricep pressdown
B) standing DB military ss w/ standing DB lateral raise

day #14
off

I still have the Asteroid Stack Manual with The Freak in it. Good work out for sure. Sounds like you just needed some rest big man. That is a lot of intensity and frequency with that workout so I can see it wearing in you a bit. Also if you feel stims are beginning to get to your receptors try taking some benadryl at night for a week it will kick them back into overdrive.

As far as where I want to be it is right about where you are now. I think that is doable from where I am now. Just smart dieting.

I've read about the Benadryl but have never tried it. Hmmm

interesting on the benadryl..i may have heard that before, can't recall.
hard to believe dirty receptors, taking only 2 caps/day (even if training 5-6 days/week).
i think it was just something in the air yesterday.

so i'm getting ready to hop in the shower today, and i glance at myself in the mirror....
i am impressed, couldn't resist sharing.

:D
