The New Product Release Thread

If it makes everyone feel better, I hate mayonnaise
As do I, brother.

Don't mind just a touch on a sandwich that a restaurant thinks really complements everything else, but I'll never add it to anything.
Can't we all just eat everything?
I eat vegans.

If it makes everyone feel better, I hate mayonnaise

I hate Mayo to, not a big fan of Sour Cream or butter either.

Can't we all just eat everything?

If we did, we would never be in shape. We would be a typical american suffering from horrible health, living at mcdonalds every morning, and filling our shopping carts with TV Dinners and 2L's of soda.

Do we also list all the things "I would rather eat"

Look slightly less calories ;)

Get real... Worry about what you buy and I'll buy what I like.

Rather then a L&L Cookie I would have this... and they are cheaper per serving.

Colorado's Best @ Glazed & Confuzed.. There is an Orange Guava Donut up top there. (bottom right)
Thai Surprise in the middle (on bottom) which had a lemon cream kind of topping that was extremely unique.
The Peach Cobbler was cream filled, and they took a blowtorch to the freshly cut peach, then they added a honey/caramel drizzle on top. One of the best donuts I ever had.

If i was going to dish out 3$ on a protein cookie I much rather have a real dessert and a protein shake. Nearly any bakery you go to can offer you a legit hand made cookie for less calories & Carbs per serving, and its not for "Half" the cookie.

Shame that the A-Y dose is 6mg...that's a pretty big dose (for most people) at once. 2-2.5mg I would have jumped but I'll have to get the WAR version.

Prehaps the other stims were rejigged in the war edition, so the difference in blend amounts isnt the dose of rauwolscine

I'll make the mistake of taking this post seriously to point out the obvious: there are many excellent real bakeries producing vegan products.
There are. I've been pleasantly surprised at how many delicious things real bakeries are making now that are vegan and/or gluten free, to the point where I wouldn't even know if they didn't tell me. You don't have to stick to bland foods and snacks anymore for any reason, really.

20 years ago you could said the same thing.. 50 years ago the same thing these are not new ideas or new recipes by and large substitutions and were and are consumed in many cuisines.

The real question for you all why do you care? And as I pointed out in a previous comment would you want me to say how garbage you all eat and how inferior each thing you buy is to something else? I am a gourmet foodie and cook and have been paid to form menu's as well cook for hosts of people my entire goal is often to make the best tasting thing possible with 0 regard to anything else so what is possible and what is typical are entirely different; But if you are not paying for it why do you care?

And are you all so sure on your own perception of taste? How many of you get paid to cook gourmet cuisine? And are you also food writers?

I mean get real... lol

Half of you fkn betas eat **** like poptarts and cold cereal I wouldn't feed that slop to my dog let alone eat it myself yet here we are. I want convenient for this and I like it well enough to keep buying it be whatever it is I buy. Or I wouldn't buy it.

I prefer French Cheeses to any Cheese in the US same for my wines I hate US commercial meat for the most part and view it largely as inferior to most of the planet's as its raised for speed not quality and the garbage diet they feed it reflects the final outcome. I mean if were gonna have an argument of opinion let's have it..

Why do you seem so angry? Is this post directed at me for some reason? All I said is that I've been seeing more bakeries offering/advertising vegan and/or gluten free options in the past few years, and that they often taste good. Did these things exist in years and decades past? I don't know, so I'll take your word for it, but it does seem that the advertising for them has increased recently, so your average non-foodie has probably only recently became aware of them, even if they've been around for a long time. Do you want a pat on the back for knowing so much more about food than the rest of us? Why do you have to call people "fkn betas"?

It's at multitudes but I feel no need to go back and multiquote each person who makes such absolutist views

Because it is the very attitude being presented by many here about a specific thing the it's inferior with no knowledge - I pointed out a page ago on macro breakdown notice no quotes. You want information I presented fine details of the very flour used to form a cookie and the differences in profiles from a real classic cookie and a more modern high protein cookie.

Since when did anyone need to eat bland? Basic knowledge of cooking and the modern low costs in food solved that long before we were born. Stepping away from basic cooking has largely degraded that as well the disconnect between the population at large and what food is.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that gluten free and vegan were not as commercially available 20 or 50 years ago.

What "absolutist views" have I made?

So you'd agree that it's true? Regardless of if its' been true for one year or 50, it's still true, no? I don't understand the hostility at all.

Vegan diets existed 20-30 and 100 years ago you can look at global cuisines and various populations who eat no meat and simply look at their overall diet and cultural recipes.

It is more popular in the US with more readily available pre packaged foods but it has def existed and has been consumed/eaten and followed in the US for a very long time.

What "absolutist views" have I made?

I'd say that this is true for at least your average person, if not your "gourmet foodie and cook." I know I see much more advertising for these things, and more items on store shelves. Not everyone is a "gourmet foodie and cook" who looks down on anyone who isn't.

The gluten thing IMO is largely bull**** those with an actual intolerrance is much more rare yet we have this notion that it is common place the numbers on it seem to be fairly low given how much popularity that has become.

IMO just an opionion of course I think its mostly fade diet's like we seen in the 80s even every other month a new diet and the companies are largely just taking advantage of that from a marketing aspect and you got people like Dr OZ ( Lulz ) giving support to it.

I seen a non-dairly ice cream more recent think it was Ben and Jerry's? I am not sure right now but either way got into a convo with a friend and I thought well dairy issues are a large part of our culture something around 65% suffer from an inability to digest lactose but the marketing behind this was essentially to say it was a "Healthier" ice cream and this should be obvious its a lie it had as many and in some cases more sugars/fats than high milk fat ice creams of their own brand even.

Tho again lactose issues are a much larger issue than say gluten but why lie about it outside of the obvious need for a lactose free ice cream or in the case of dairy allergies a dairy free option.

Just an observation

Oh, I agree that a lot of people simply go gluten-free because they think it's healthier for them. I don't have gluten due to medical reasons (if I could eat it, I definitely would), but I suppose I'm not going to complain about this fad because the increase in demand for gluten-free products has lead to more gluten-free options for people who actually need them (even if most of them are the pre-packaged and processed foods; I enjoy them sometimes). I do have to admit that it annoys me when I tell someone that I can't have gluten and they assume I'm on some sort of a health trip though.

We even see gluten free on things that obviously have no gluten which I find more odd; I mean if their is a market for it I can't fault a company for filling it but I think/feel at least our education system has let us down in yet another area by and large.

Look at the 1980s to ref that again the fear of dietary fat we largely still in society have this fear yet even in the 80s they knew fat was healthy/essential and the companies removed fat for much more dangerous much more unhealthy ( if you will for lack of better word ) ingredients which are tied directly to massive spikes globally on obesity.

When I was a kid you couldn't eat "Real BUTTER" it was the devil or whole eggs ( On tv I mean ) and of course milk was bad for you could only consume a little bit but fruit juice as much as you want! or soda it's part of a healthy diet! lol all the fat free foods filled with highly processed carbs and saturated fats replaced with trans fats and the science existed long before we got to that point the media was complicit in selling the lie.

Seems to me if you like something and you don't have with it being in your diet, eat it. As for the people who don't like the talk about protein bars, why do you care? If you're trolling, by all means, do your thing. But if you are that bent out of shape over people eating something of convenience, get a life and don't worry about other people's habits. You'll be a lot happier...;)

So not to derail the thread more - Has anyone who was at the O tried that Gaspari Precision protein with the 3 flavors in one? Any thoughts?

Or that Cotton Candy BANG? does it taste as good as say Focus XT cotton candy?

My cousin has Celiac's. Even a bit of gluten destroys her for a few days

That would be rough :X Only problem I have is pizza/pizza rolls etc anything with both a lot of simple carbs mixed with a whole lot of sodium bloats me up like insanely crazy just few weeks ago bloated so bad after some pizza ankles were even puffy for few days held prob 12-15# of water.

It was pretty bad but that is the only food issue I have lol I do not handle pizza/pizza like things very well

I see "gluten free" on things that are obviously gluten free, but like you said, if it's going to help them sell their products, you can't really blame them, but sometimes I do think "really, how could people even think this has gluten in it?"

So I guess I'm scum and a bottom feeder since I don't often eat finer things and enjoy a pre-packaged good once in awhile :(

To be fair I was hasty on that remark but it was primarily just to show the opposite end of the spectrum lol

Like just because I don't like something essentially does not mean I think someone else shouldn't enjoy it I perhaps could have conveyed that better ( well most def could have ).

Edit: Lineup 50 random people and ask them how they like their steak done; Is anyone in that lineup wrong? I mean if it's not rare/blue rare I would say pfft what do they know! haha but my brother in law will only eat well done and of course I told him I refuse to claim he is related ( jokingly ). Often I am forced ( married compromise ) to do it at least med my wife won't even eat it blue rare :| haters gonna hate. She says she hates the texture at least we both agree octopus is delicious that would been a deal breaker.

If anyone who was at the O got some samples or picked these 2 new flavors up interested in thoughts

So far only seen one person mention picking up the cotton candy said it was good but no description the black cherry vanilla not seen anything on yet; VPX had said that they had them at the Olympia.

i couldn't handle those for some reason. i'd still like to try the powder version, just for shizs and giggles
