The Female Terminator Chronicles: Cutting for Competition (2011)

If you have a question for me...

Just making a note that my time on the forums is soon going to be very limited - active until further notice only on Anabolic Minds and The Muscle Forum, so if anyone has a question for me and does not ask it in this specific thread, Invalid Link Removed is the place to ask it - if you call me out or ask me something elsewhere or in some random thread, I may not become aware of it.

Thanks

Dare to be Different!

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." - Cecil Beaton

TRAINING

HIIT - Rollers:
a. 4 min in 39x18 @ 100 rpm
b. 8 x 20 sec effort/10 sec easy in 39x17 (rpm N/A)
c. 12 min in 39x18 @ 104 rpm

Stretch 26 min.

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: ~7 hours, waking only once.

Mood/Aggression: A few ups and downs, but nothing out of the ordinary, focusing on the positive and what is going well, working on changing anything I am not pleased with.

Energy: Seriously, for the last few days I have been as restless as hell, literally bouncing around the house with endless energy that I have to restrain.

Mental Focus and Clarity: My head is clear. Managing to get a lot done and sorted out.

Endurance: Normal. From now on, unless this changes, I probably won't comment on it.

Quality of Training: Sticking to plan and doing HIIT on the rollers. A little easier than in previous weeks, so next week, going to up my gears re efforts, and possibly pace as well for non-effort periods.

Recovery: Fresh. Amazing what the right combination of training, recovery, and nutrition can do.

It's summer in the US now, yes. But no, that's not the reason for my limited time on the forums.

Its not quite Summer yet. June 21st is the Summer Solstice.

He's right Rosie, so I guess you'll just have to stay active on the forums until then! :rasp:

My bad. It's BEYOND summer for me with this weather, honestly - the US SPRING is like a New Zealand summer, and I prefer that to the actual US summer, LOL.

He's right Rosie, so I guess you'll just have to stay active on the forums until then! :rasp:

I'll still be around, don't get me wrong, Al, but I'm not going to be as active as I usually am - that's what returning to a 60-80 hour work week will do to you, not taking into account the time for training clients and doing my own training  Going to be some fun times, especially since I'll be starting my new job 2-4 weeks before my competition!

60-80 hour work week?. Wow Rosie!. You really work hard. You deserve to win that competition!.

Yeah, but it's ok - I've done it before, and for a long time too, so it shouldn't be a problem getting back into it. The only difference is that this time I'm not going to be studying on top of it, and my training is nowhere near as much as it was.

Trust me, after yesterday, this competition has become more important to me than ever!

Rosie, what was yesterday if you don't mind me asking? Or is it something posted that I missed, I looked, but didn't see anything mentioned that would make this competition mean any more/less to you?

I didn't post anything, no, but basically there's more in it than simply wanting to win because I want to see what I can do - if I do well, this competition is THE opportunity for me to make a splash and start really getting where I want as far as my career!

Bulletproof

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE OF THE DAY

"You HAVE to stay "bulletproof". Your determination and optimism forms your impenetrable armour. You will NOT be stopped or broken down by negativity, emotional blackmail, physical pain, obstacles or discouraging vicissitudes. Remind yourself daily:" My indomitable spirit prepares me for any eventuality. I AM BULLETPROOF"." - Nicole Acker

2. Flat BB Bench Press 4 x 10
Alternate Set B -
3. Seated Supinated Lat Pull-Down 4 x 10
4. Incline BB Bench Press 4 x 10

Post-Weights Cardio - Rollers:

Stretch 25 min.

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: Not really sure how much sleep I actually got, since it was very broken, waking almost on the hour and not able to fall back asleep instantly each time.

Mood/Aggression: Smiling. Determined.

Energy: Still boundless!

Quality of Training: Cooler today outside, with a breeze, which was about perfect for me when I went for my run - definitely prefer this over the heat that has prevailed lately. Resistance training was excellent, with strength progression on all fronts. Rollers afterwards passed quickly.

Recovery: The way I am eating is also helping with my recovery, I believe.

Competition Notes: My attitude towards competition has gone BEYOND simply wanting to win and seeing what I can do - it is THE opportunity for me to REALLY start making a difference and getting the exposure I want in the fitness industry, on the road to being where I want to be with my career! Talk about refreshing my motivation and enhancing my determination!

Well... I think you look great, but I know you want to look PERFECT, for a lack of better words.... "The Ball is in your hands" and the Endzone is 5 weeks away, so... Score that TouchDown Woman!!! Your body will be the body by which all others get judged!

Thanks, Al, but you know that when it comes to me, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of my figure, but what I do. A little different for competition, since it's based on what the Judges want to see. I wouldn't say I want to look "perfect", since no one is ever going to look perfect and everyone has their own definition of perfection, but you can be sure that I am not going to stop until I am satisfied and happy with my figure, content to maintain the leanness. If all goes to plan, by the end of next week I will be in competition condition, so it will just be trying to get that little bit leaner or bring out the definition, and experimenting a little more re nutrition for the best "stage figure" after that (as well as more concentrated effort on posing and stage presentation, of course, since I honestly have not done this as I probably should - but no worries, since I know I can do it in 2-3 weeks of longer practices).

I like that post a lot, very nice.
Good luck and success on the new job Rosie.

Rosie's gonna kick A$$, turn Pro and next thing you know, we'll have to go through "her people" before we can get a post or an email to her, LoL

She'll be BIG-TIME Baby!!!

Trust me, kicking ass and turning Pro will not change the way I am, I can guarantee that, Al :) After all, you can't reach out to people and make that personal impact if you're set apart from them, and I am a "there" individual, wanting to be in the midst of things (believe me, I answer every PM and email I get, even if I probably shouldn't).

LoL, I know this Rosie, I was really just joking as in you'll be so BIG-TIME as I put it you won't have time for us little people! All in Fun... :biglaugh:

I see (guess I should stop taking everything so literally) Even "BIG-TIME" I highly doubt it, since I know me - I honestly wouldn't even consider myself that if I was, and I will always have time for those who have supported me on my journey (after all, I have made some great friends on AM - some of whom are a "lifetime") :approve:

COMMENTS

Energy: Even MORE energy than I've had over the last few days, and that is saying SOMEthing!

Pump: Strong once got to Alternate Set C.

Vascularity: The best ever after my post-training shower and LipoBURN application.

Quality of Training: HIIT was AWESOME, the best ever, sprints were explosive, back to feeling like myself - the cooler weather definitely makes a HUGE difference for me! Resistance training was good. Rollers afterwards was meditation time.

Competition Notes: The focus of the next three weeks is just going to be on getting leaner, as lean as I can get. The two weeks after that I will use to make a concentrated effort on posing practice (honestly, I have done so little of this even up to now, and not having a facility to be able to practice in has made it a little harder as well, but I'm not too worried) and stage presence, opening myself up to relax and have fun, to just let the side that is often only seen in private out, so that I have no self consciousness on stage and can just be an infectious bundle of energy and "wow".

Bump if you are down with "TEAM ROSIE" :head:

Go Rosie Go!.
Bump if you are down with "TEAM ROSIE" :head:

Thank you for the encouragement and support, guys :) I would also like to take this time to thank everyone else who has stood behind me on this journey. It's not over yet - the next few weeks are going to be such a blast

So awesome Rosie. Austin is hot that time of year, but so much fun. So much good food and live music if you want a night off after the show. Even if you dont drink it can be great. BBQ and steak. HELLO!!!! Sorry nothing like that on the ship LOL...Enjoy.

Yeah, I'll probably be using the Sunday before travel back for work to take some time out - I have a couple of clients in Austin whom I want to catch up with, and my boss and his wife are closing down the facility that weekend to come and watch me compete, so it's going to be a blast :D

I like the new pict, your Avatar, had to go look it up on FaceBook so I could see it blown up, very Nice, you got a Fan in me Rosie, keep up the GREAT work!

Thanks, Al - it is my #1 overall favourite image from my shoot with Tony about a month ago :) I'm seeing Tony again next Thursday, so looking forward to that

"Impossible" is POTENTIAL

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing." - Muhammed Ali

TRAINING

Cardio - Rollers:
20 min in 39x18 @ 104 rpm

Stretch 27 min.

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: ~6 hours. Woke every two hours - the second time it was because the cat had the balls to walk over me, right up to my face, and meow several times in my ear!

Energy: Calmed down somewhat from the last few days.

Stress: Slowly rising.

Quality of Training: Rollers were fine - just an easy session.

Body Composition and Look: 8.5% bodyfat at 108.8 pounds. So, only a 0.3% bodyfat loss this week, but slowly coming down. Going to have to switch things up a bit next week - perhaps do 20 minutes of cardio pre-weights on Tuesday and Thursday, instead of only 10, etc. - to ensure progress is BETTER. Midsection and hips are looking the best they have in a long time, though, and I honestly look about the SAME leanness as I was at 8% bodyfat when I arrived in the US. On target for being in competition condition ~4 weeks out and at a satisfactory leanness for me personally ~3 weeks out.

Competition Notes: Five weeks to go . . .

That sucks about the cat. It would scare the crap out of some people. Your avatar does look great Rosie. Sounds like a really fun time in Austin coming up. Have a blast. Where do you live currently if I could ask?

Eh, he's ok - been a lot more cuddly than usual and comes to me whenever he wants something, LOL. Thanks, bud. It will be indeed. I am currently located in Beloit, but not for much longer!

I'd be throwing the cat. Not that I'm cruel I love animals. I'm more of a dog person though. Cats are just annoying pests while dogs are loyal companions.

I love animals and grew up with lots of cats and a dog. Can't wait until I can get my own dog (and more cats) again!

Rosie, I may contact you if I cant find someone else in fort worth for some help with my next prep. I just have to find out what I will be able to spend and go from there.
It depends on if I make next paygrade here in a few weeks.
Are you thinking of relocating, or going back to New Zealand?

I want to go back to New Zealand, yes, and I will be for Christmas. As far as where I am located/live, if you are asking re my training services, that is IRrelevant, as I now work exclusively as an ONLINE trainer. That's not to say that what I offer and give my clients is any less quality though - my clients get everything that I used to do with my one-on-one "in-person" clients, except that I am not there to physically induct them into their training programme or take their weekly body statistics. Re training programme and/or nutrition plan, I use the same detailed and comprehensive questionnaires to individualize everything, and all my clients are required to sign and send me an Informed Consent and Release of Liability form.

Thank you Rosie. I might even contact you for diet advice when I get done with deployment here in a few months to prepare me for my contest diet. Sort of a taper down so to speak. Once I have a date they are flying me home I will contact you for details and we can get started. Online only is fine. Do you require photos of me for progress?

No worries :) There is a comprehensive Nutrition Interview and Diet Record, as well as a Health Status Questionnaire, you are required to complete. Progress pictures, although desirable for me to see progress and offer comment, are not compulsory.

I understand. I will request the questionaire in a couple months or so as I get closer to flying home. I appreciate it. Thanks Rosie.

I got three cats over here, at first I thought how is this going to turn out :yikes: But since they are all sisters they get along very well and they are very independent :) Once of them actually hisses at strangers coming to the house :D Serves like a house guard when my wife and I are at work

Nice :) I grew up with LOTS of cats and a dog and they all got on fine. Yeah, some cats are better than dogs, LOL.

I LOVE all animals, what can I say! As a whole, I prefer dogs over cats, but I have had and met a few cats with amazing personalities! Also, cats are much easier animals to take care of as a whole than dogs!

Change to Progress

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE OF THE DAY

"If there is no path to get where I want to go that's cool. I'll make my own." - Layne Norton

TRAINING

HIIT - Run:
a. 4 min jogging
b. 12 x 20 sec sprint/10 sec easy
c. 10 min jogging

Shoulders/Hamstrings (1 min recovery between sets):
1. Behind-the-neck BB Military Press 6 x 12, 12, 10, 10, 8, 8
2. BB Military Press 6 x 12, 10, 10, 10, 10, 8
3. Single-Arm Cable Lateral Raises 6 x 10 per side
4. Stiff-Legged BB Deadlifts (BB to touch floor) 6 x 12

Post-Weights Cardio - Rollers:
20 min in 39x18 @ 100 rpm

Stretch 25 min.

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: On and off, waking several times.

Mood/Aggression: Up and down.

Energy: Definitely more with the cooler weather and getting up earlier.

Stress: High and rising.

Endurance: Speed endurance has improved a lot.

Quality of Training: HIIT was great. Love running outside when the temperature is what it was. Speed endurance awesome, and most of my sprints were actually 25-30 seconds, passing quickly and over before I realized that they were . . . Resistance training was good. Some improvising today with the Cable Lateral Raises, since I want to keep doing Single-Arm Lateral Raises . . . Rollers post-weights was a little slower than usual, feeling glutes a bit, but was ok . . .

Appetite: Back to "normal" eating, after the weekend, where every meal was ~5,000-6,000 calories each - no sh*tting; Sean just LAUGHED at me!

Other Notes: Going to be adding a little in re training this week, since it's time I made some small changes, to ensure that I keep progressing, especially since the leaner one gets, the slower progress can be, and I don't want my progress to slow down. Will also be cleaning my nutrition up.

Faith Smiles

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE OF THE DAY

"What I see all the GREAT people in life, what they all have in common is humility. They do not stick their nose up, they embrace you with a smile. They do not look for vanity, but rather concentrating on making this place a little better to live. When we search for humility as an asset, not as baggage, we can truly grow from the inside out. Everything I have today is a direct result of handing my will and my life over to God. Thank you again for teaching me how to live along the path that You put in front of me, walking with You, not in front or behind, and accepting this world as it is, not as I would have it! Do not wait another day to discover your true potential. Faith without works is dead!" - Ben Booker

TRAINING

Session 1

Cardio - Run:
3 miles at 4.5 min/km pace

Stretch 20 min.

Session 2

Cardio - Rollers:
20 min in 39x18 @ 104 rpm

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: ~5 hours. Weird sleep. Dreaming rather vividly lately too, despite the brokenness of my sleep.

Mood/Aggression: Seeing the good in the bad. Finding the smile in the pain. Being positive despite the negative.

Energy: Patches of fatigue coming randomly out of nowhere - of course, they could be because of the painful stomach that has plagued me today as well, since it always seems to take a lot out of me for some reason.

Stress: Working on lowering it. I am a lot better at stress management now than I used to be, so that's something.

Vascularity: WOW!

Quality of Training: I actually did start training with the intention of today being Arms/Abs as Tuesday is supposed to be. As I mentioned last week, longer re pre-weights cardio as well. Run was ok - definitely prefer the cooler weather to be out in, although I was still dripping wet when I finished. Painful stabbing in my stomach during the last half of my run, though, slowing my overall pace down a lot . . . I tried to ignore the pain as I started resistance training, but I got to the second alternate set and was doubled over on the floor from the agony. Instead of working through it, I stopped and will do this resistance session tomorrow . . . Got on the rollers later, when the pain was not as much - more manageable on the rollers as well, since I can hunch over - to make sure I did something today . . .

Other Notes: Hoping the stomach pain is gone by tomorrow.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Life is a grindstone; whether it grinds you down or polishes you up depends on what you're made of, what are you made of???" - Walt Ostarly

COMMENTS

Mood/Aggression: Calm. Doing what I have to. Preparing for what is to come.

Energy: Not a lot today - very much like yesterday, but at least my stomach has settles down. HIIT run was the SLOWEST it has been in almost forever.

Joints: Left wrist giving me a few issues during resistance training, ending with a dull ache, but nothing too drastic.

Endurance: Ok.

Vascularity: Have had a few comments on the vascularity coming out in my arms and chest - now for it to STAY and be there when I WANT it to be!

Quality of Training: HIIT was not the best, the slowest in a long time. I just had no energy and my body didn't even want to move, honestly. Sprints were as fast as I could make them, but that wasn't very fast at all . . . Resistance training was ok. Did what I had to and then jumped on the rollers . . .

Recovery: Obviously still recovering from yesterday.

Body Composition and Look: Getting better. Still not as lean as I want to be, though. At least I feel comfortable in my own skin again.

Other Notes: It's down to Chicago for a photoshoot with Dan Ray tomorrow. AND I get to see Tony and Katrell again beforehand. Going to be fun times!

Glad your stomach is feeling a little better, can't wait to see more pictures!

Oh and as far as your body composition... I think you are ahead of the pack like in this picture...
