Hey guys... my current Doc think that to alleviate low test antidepressants and viagra will do the trick... I know this is rubbish... how do I get this taken care of? I have called several antiaging clinics... all helpful but expensive... any help would be awesome... I have a prior post in the weight loss forum that leads into this called turning-30-need help... Im at a loss as how I can resolve this problem by myself as this Dr isnt educated enough apparently to help... their solution is to send me to a urologist in a month... whats this going to do?
Thanks to all that take the time to read this

Urologist or endocrinologist?

go see an endo... see what he wants to do, post it up here so other people with experience can help you decide if his options are right for you.... and just take it from there

When you say low test, what's the number?

I've been on TRT since 2007. Most family doctors aren't up to speed on everything dealing with low test. There is more to it than just applying Testim/Androgel or pinning Cypionate once a week.

Unless you're wealthy, stay away from anti aging clinics; you don't need them. What you need is a good Endocrinologist(Endo). Research your area, make some calls and ask the doctors nurse on the phone if they routinely treat "andropause and perform TRT. If they can't answer straight away, keep looking... Good luck bro!!

If you need further assisted you can contact me via PM...
I would look to reason why your testosterone levels are low as well as other imbalances that may be contributing factor. Low T is usually a sign is usally a symptom of the cause. Dr's do not try to take time to look for root cause and use bandaid approach instead.

In the meantime maybe he can post bloods up here... a lot of guys on the board are knowledgeable and can at least give the OP something to work with.

The more knowledge you have going into a meeting with your doctor the more likely you are to get better treatment, i.e., know if the doctor has any idea what he's talking about.

To see the Endo the DR has to refer me I called around... Its so Frustrating!

My labs were good except my Test and Free Test
levels were as Follows

Free is 66.2

Total is 298

I appreciate all of your help guys.... its been frusrating and what seems like an easy fix to educated folks is seemingly impossible to Most MDs apparently lol

The free test is 66.2 pg/ml range is
44 - 244

Total test is 298 ng/dl
Range is 400 - 1080

as mentioned before look for the cause not the effect. I have gotten guys restarted through proper manipulation of nutrients as well as modulating hormones naturally, making lifestyle changes, eating pattern, as well as sleep hygiene needs to be examined.

Matrix, are you a physician? If so where are you located? =) I would like to think I do what I can to be as healthy as possible, my diet is protein, complex carbs(with an occasional splurge), healthy fats-olive oil, coconut oil, peanut butter, nut sources etc... My sleep is good 8 hours a nite...
I have gone through a WORLD of stress which may play a role in the hormone manipulation...
Lost my father to a 5 year cancer battle, where I dropped out of the last 3 months of my RN program to help take care of him, My sister died from breast cancer after several years or battling, We have a car club and my show car got totaled twice in 3 months over 25 k per of damage in each accident, Lost the best job ever due to the economy and company branch going under only to get another job that rocked, work there for years, blow out my knee in the playoffs and may never be able to play super competitive ball again im told, had a 40 k wedding this last summer, and when I went to return to work when Drs orders were up got let go Because Oregon is an "at will" state, used to living a fairly comfy lifestyle it has been cramped and now looking for employment, I have many licenses and certs... Hell Im even a personal trainer but, with my knee and weight gain plus Low T I dont look like your typical Beast Trainer anymore and dont have the money to reopen a gym... Lifting and ball are huge stress releivers and have been hampered heavily lol
So yeah its a s hitty situation man, then the cherry is the Docs im seeing not doing d ick lol =) Happy happy joy joy
