Thoughts
Had two tests today that went pretty well, but all I had on my mind today was my live bull pen. Got to practice and it was all business. My arm felt great and I had command of all my pitches. I was floating round 84 mph so my velocity is coming around. I threw about 90 pitches, 60 were strikes 30 were balls, no walks, 6k's, and ahead in the count a majority of the time. All my pitches were accurate and my change up was just dirty today. Threw a couple sliders which are coming along. My curveball was on today as well. I'm starting to get in the rhythm and in "the zone." I felt like I could have easly gone another 4 sets or innings, my arm felt great and loose.
Strength: 8/10
my velocity was consistant and about the same as last week, but my command is alot better. I rated it an 8 because Im not at my full potential for velocity.
Endurance: 10/10
through the roof today, felt like I could have thrown alot more
Performance:9/10
great today, 6 k's, no walks, no liners or solid hits. Even though Im very pleased with my performance, I know there is still more to come.
Mood 10/10
very positive today during my bull pen, and during my tests
Overall feeling of the day: 10/10
Great day everything went well
Got an early morning lift tomorrow, then 330 practice that will focus on conditioning and recovery from todays bull pen.
Look'n real good in here. So when's the 1st game?
So what are these 2 exercises
Bob's Reverse 3-way x20e
Rope T's x10
200 sit ups are insane?
Regarding your diet, is this directed by your stength and conditioning coach. Not asking because I think their's something lacking or anything, just wondering if your coaches are just as strict with that as your training routine.
How long does it take to do all that stuff?
So the endurance is way up so far??? Looks like it to me haha, 7.5 miles jeez, on an "off day"
It's way up. the most long distance i have ran in a while is a moderate speed for 20 minutes for pitcher workouts, and my HIIT treadmill work. Although I do run more long distance over the summer. So with that being said for me to feel just great and enjoy a long run like that is pretty remarkable. I ran varsity cross country my freshman year and ran about a 17 min 3 mile. I've gained 65 pounds since then and have excelled in sprinting, muscular endurance and strength, and my long distance went down. It's not that I cant run for long distance, i just cant keep a fast pace like I used to. So it sorta reminded me of my cross country days.
I have never ran more than two miles. And, that time I did (4 or so years ago) I ran it under 20 minutes.
Yous damn good runners, you.
Man a 17 min 3 mile is fast. I ran cc as a senior and was at a pretty good cc school and my best was 18 min. I absolutely hated it though. The coach would just make us run around 8 straight miles a day. I had fun at the meets though, tons of hot girls in short shorts haha
haha thanks, my body is definetly made for muscular endurance/endurance (I like the burn!), but im versitle enough were I respond and improve well to different types of exercise.
We had a double header yesterday and ended up splitting again, we definetly should have won both. Got some time in at third and my arm felt great! I've been having trouble the last week with arm pain, but I have found out it is because I have not found my natural arm slot yet. When I was at third I was throwing as hard as a could, very accurately, pain free. So when im pitching I have to think Im at "third," then I should definetly be back on track (pitching/baseball can be so frustrating sometimes, the smallest things can effect your performance, it's crazy). We have one 9 inning game today, and I will be in relief, I will get 2 or 3 innings in. Hopefully I can get my head out of my ass and throw correctly! We head back to Iowa tomorrow morning. Starting tomorrow, my updates will be back to normal, more detailed, and consistant.
13 hours of sleep. Man that would be nice. You wake up feeling refreshed or groggy?
Nice deadlift numbers, wish I could get them that high. Are you noticing any differnces in your pitching? Like added velocity or anthing like that?
Is your shin sore from all of that running you have been doing?
