Is magtein a better form than glycinate?


Again, only going off of my 1 time experience with it does seem to work better at boosting the kratom dose the glycinate.

MagTein seems to be able to pass the blood brain barrier where magnesium glycinate doesn’t appear to so in that regard it’s better.

I will keep experimenting with it and keep you posted.

Downside to MagTein is that it’s expensive.
 
Glad to see it working for you too (at least, with the one dose so far). Since I started taking magnesium l-threonate a few days ago I've been able to cut both my dose amount and dosing frequency in half...while still maintaining all the great kratom effects.

Do you usually just toss and wash the kratom? I tried that method again yesterday and just can't seem to get it down without coughing out a cloud of kratom. So far, mixing it with water and mio seems to work best for me.

Magtien is magnesium attached to theornic acid which is a metabolite of obsortic acid to help it perforate the blood brain barrier, where it can help upregulate the prefrontal cortex act as a slight glutimate antagonist, magnesium does so much you could go on and on. Suposively absorbic acid is supposed to help break down the alkaloids in kratom not sure haven't looked into it much.

Today around noon I dosed 1.5 grams of the green. Good energy for 4+ hours.

Evening dose was 1 gram of green + 1.25 grams of red vein Thai + 1 gram of MagTein.

Well last night’s dose knocked me out. It’s quite possible the MagTein made it stronger and put me out. Maybe I was just tired, but I couldn’t keep my eyes open 30 mins post dose.
 
No daytime kratom dose today like I normally do. I didn’t have the need or urge (felt pretty good today).

Tonight at 9pm I dose 2.85 grams of a mix of green MD, yellow MD, gold Bali and red vein Thai all in equal parts. I also added 1 gram of MagTein.

I am in need of some pain relief.
 
I didn’t have a dose during the day today. It was church, workout and then 5 hours of yard work in 93 degree heat! I laid Caribbean rock, laid edge stone and put up a small fence. Next weekend we are having my son’s 3rd bday party at our in the backyard so that’s why all the yard work lately. Anyway, my body is in need of some pain relief especially my back.

I dosed 0.5 gram of simple green, 1 gram of gold Bali and 1 gram of red Bali, 1.6 grams of cissus, turmeric extract with black pepper extract, 2 grams fish oil, 1 gram vitamin C and 1 gram of MagTein.

Now I am relaxing watching GoT! I am liking it so far. I don’t feel it is nearly as great as everyone says, but still interesting nonetheless.

I did 1.75 grams of the simple green MD at 12:30 pm today. It gave me energy for the second half of the day.

Around 5:30pm I was hit with hard anxiety.

I did 1.5 grams of red vein Thai with 1.3 grams of MagTein. Plus 200 mg black seed oil extract and 350 mg Passion flower at 10 pm.

I woke up this morning with some mild anxiety. I took 1.5 grams of the green around lunch time (noon). It only slightly took the edge off for a couple hours. It did give some welcomed energy though.

At 9pm I took 1.25 grams of red MD, 650 mg agmatine, 500 mg vitamin C, 200 mg BSO extract and 1 gram of MagTein.

It calmed down my anxiety completely. I watched an episode of GoT. Now I about to call it a night.

Sucks that you keep having these anxiety issues. Does the Magtein by itself help with that? I've got a magnesium supplement that includes magtein, magnesium glycinate and magnesium taurate that's definitely stronger with its anti-anxiety effects (I can send you some to try if you'd like).

Do you take it during the day? I only take magnesium at night. Maybe I can give it a try in lower doses during the day.

I have a few different forms of magnesium. MagTein, magnesium Taurate (you sent me in a trade) and ZMA product with magnesium aspartate.

Yeah, I prefer taking the magnesium l-threonate (2 capsules, twice each day) during the daytime. For me, it's too stimulating before bed (most magnesium lately makes my sleep worse if taken too close to bedtime). It's weird that it will be too stimulating at night but during the daytime it's kind of calming but also really increases focus. I can't take the combined product mentioned in my previous message during the daytime because the glycine and taurine make it too calming/relaxing (and for some reason, it doesn't help me sleep if taken at night).

Gaia Herbs has a new bacopa product that I ordered. Will let you know how it works for anxiety (might try combining it with their rhodiola too). I also have some red thai and dark red Sumatra coming my way. Curious to see how it compares to other reds I've tried for anxiety.

Oh and the red vein Thai’s that I have used have been good for pain relief and mood. It is more of a energizing Red, but not at all stimulating if that makes sense. It can be used daytime or night IME.

Today was a good day as far as anxiety and mood. I got a workout in before work. I took 0.5 gram of green MD and 1.5 grams of yellow MD at 11:30 am. It really kept my anxiety in check and in a good mood.

This evening at 9pm I took 1 gram of red MD, vitamin C, probiotic, 1 gram of MagTein and 1 cap of the ZMA with magnesium aspartate in it. Solid relaxation and I am going to sleep now at 11:30 pm.
 
Anyone read the study about magnesium treatment (taurate & glycinate dosed multiple times a day) in major depression patients?

This evening at 9:30pm I dosed 1 gram of red Bali and 0.5 gram of simple yellow. I took 1 gram of MagTein and 125 mg of magnesium taurate.

Going to start the 6th season of GoT tonight.

It was a good size party. We did a pool party and had a company come to the house and bring some reptiles for the kids to see and pet.

I have been doing ok as far as mood and anxiety. Lately I have been dosing more yellow then the green. It keeps my anxiety and mood more stable. The green can help with both mood and anxiety, but I get big fluctuations in mood and anxiety. When the green wears off mood and my anxiety takes a hit. The green gives me a good mood boost, but when that’s done I become irritable and can bring on anxiety. I don’t get that with yellow.

So the past couple of days I have been dosing 80% yellow with 20% green. Seems to be working well.

What a great idea for a birthday party! That's also a brave little guy you have there. There's no way my older son would go near (much less hold) a snake (especially one that large).

Thanks, he loved it! He wanted Dinosaurs so I figured reptiles are close enough lol

He actually held the baby gator too. Crazy lil boy! I had to explain that yes this one is nice, but if you ever see another one you RUN!
 
Yeah, my parents certainly never did anything like that for my Birthdays! I probably would have started crying though with the whole reptile situation.

Releasing a box of kittens in the room would have been more my style at 3 years old 😲

Tossed & washed 1.5 grams simple yellow MD with 0.5 gram simple green MD at noon today. This helps me with anxiety, pain and gives some energy for the afternoon.

This evening at 9pm I dosed 0.75 gram of red Bali, 1 gram MagTein, 125mg magnesium taurate, 650 mg agmatine, 1.5 grams lysine, 2 grams glycine and 500 mg vitamin C.

Relaxed and going to sleep now.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that.

FYI - I've found recently that kratom and matcha are a magnificent combination (1-2 tsp of matcha added to 1-2 tsp of kratom)…calm, focused energy and great mood boost.

Yeah, it’s a beautiful mix in the daytime.
 
1.5 grams of Simple green at 11:30am did zero for my anxiety. It helped with energy though.

At 8:30pm I took 2 grams of red MD with turmeric and black pepper extract.

I will take 650mg agmatine, 600 mg NAC, 1.5 grams lysine and 2 grams glycine along with a ZMA product at 11:30pm just before going to sleep.

It is now 1:30pm and I Toss-N-washed 1.75 grams of the simple green. I am looking for some lower back pain relief and energy.

I will report back on how it goes.

That afternoon dose of the green didn’t take away the pain, but it took the edge off of it. It took away the lower back stiffness. These effects lasted about 2.5 hours. It also gave me 4 hours of energy without increasing anxiety.

Last night at 8pm I did 1.75 grams of gold Bali which helped more for the pain and is slightly relaxing.

I will probably take some kratom in a couple hours. I am feeling good so don’t need to take any now.

At 9pm I dosed 1.25 grams of gold Bali. Decent pain relief, mood and relaxation noted. I took this dose with 500 mg black seed oil extract.

At 11pm I dosed a ZMA product that has shilajit in it.

They were damn good! Even my young (1 & 3 year old) kids loved them.
 
At 1pm today it was 1.75 grams of the simple green and a cup of black coffee. Energy and mood on point!

Final Review

Mood: 4/5- solid 3 hour mood boost with this strain (even at low doses.

Pain Relief: 2.5/5 - Only a slight pain relief noted with this strain. It did take the edge off the pain, but not fully relieve the pain. I kept my doses low and that’s most likely why I didn’t get the pain relief out of it. Usually >4 grams to notice good pain relief.

Anti-anxiety: 2/5 - This strain did not help too much with my anxiety. It was able to take the edge off of the anxiety for a short 2 hours then it would come back at full force.

Energy: 4/5- Good 4 hours of energy from this strain. Not over powering stimulation, but nice energy boost. I did have a few bouts of lethargy during testing and this really pulled me out of that place.

Potency: 3.5 - I was able to keep my doses low with this strain and still feel the benefits of the kratom. I was able to get effects from as little as 1 gram of this green MD.

Overall, this is another high quality kratom strain from Straight Up Kratom. This one is perfect for the morning or afternoon energy and mood pick me up. Highly recommend this strain.
