Starting an Online business

xtraflossy

Board Supporter
Recently I have become very frustrated with the current job market, and to be honest, I'm not having very encouraging results at the moment with it.
I decided I had little to loose with starting an online business.
I know many here have had some success, and I'd like to get some feedback from those who have started their own.

It's been almost a week for me. I opened a Yahoo store, with about 300 hits (not impressive by any means but I'm just finding/discovering ways to generate traffic) but no sales.

Has anyone tried affiliate marketing? And if so, how have the results been.

I'm in the same boat, despite having a full time job. I've just read way too much Robert Kiyosaki, and other entrenepeneurs not too. I've had the itch for years. Finally really doing it.

Just bought the sites a couple of days ago.
I will need a yahoo shopping cart soon. how have you found it?

PM me, lets talk.

I have had some limited sucess with my Amazon sellers account. Nothing to quit your job over, but when your in college an extra 100+ bucks a month doesnt hurt.

"Rich Dad, Poor Dad"...???

Do you two mind me asking what kind of stores you have opened?

Thanks for the rep man :D

Yahoo shopping cart is pretty much included when you open a yahoo store (provided through Paypal).
I'd imagie Paypal offers one directly as well.

Well I don't want to do any direct advertising, Don't want to offend the powers that be (even though it's in non-compete with any dealings on this board).

My shop (and actually needs to be a web page- becasue I'd like to tie so much more into the whole thing then just a store) is geared towards lifestyles of the single man.
Right now, it's a mix of tangible goods, such as home decor, and a few books, but I'd really like to go into downloadable content.

lol- and after saying what I said before, I WOULD like to be able to include some of favorite things- and some of that might be fitness related, or supp related, as a small section, but.... who knows.

I would imagine that you're going to have to put a lot of work into it before you'll get good sales. You could talk to Bobo and see what a sponsored section costs and a **** ton of the people you're trying to reach are in one spot.

Rich Dad Poor Dad series opened my eyes to a reality that I didnt know was possible. Love it.

I bought the domains a few days ago. Nothing on them....yet.
I'm basically going to be marketing supplements towards a certain niche market.
