nice work benchin. u using a smith on those inclines or free weight?

Free. I don't use smith, unless its at the end of my workout and I'm scared that I can't even press 135 on a BB without dropping it on myself. :ntome: But smith work at all for me is few and far between.

buki, are smiths bad? or just not recommended?
Don't know what master kabuki will say, but IMO smiths are "less manly". I think for squatting it's unnatural for the bar to travel in a straight line like that too. I know it felt weird on my back whenever
I used to squat like that. Prob unnatural for other movements too.
 
I'm starting to consider not ever even using barbells for chest, just dumbbells, for that same sort of reason.

Smith bench will help you isolate your chest better, but will take away from a lot of muscle recruitment.

If anything it is a very bad idea to cross reference smith lifts to free weight. I can usually do almost a whole plate more on a smith.

and thats also one of the reason PL use bands in addition to the barbell as the additional pulling requires even more stablizer recruitment to hold and direct the bar path.

the smith machine as a tool does have some uses, such as for muscle isolation and during rehab.

But definetly not prefered. And by no means a Nescessary piece of equipment.
 
Way back in August 2005, a Smith Machine was hooked up to a GayDar Meter and the Meter blew the fvck up and killed a nun that was walking by the testing site at the time.

One time I used a Smith Machine and I had an unbelievable hankerin' for some Tofu molded into the shape of a ball park weiner. I also really wanted to go up North and go for a ride in Buki's jeep.

I had to quickly go down to the trainyards and stab a few hobos to get myself all "Hetero" again.

Crisis averted, let that be a lesson.

Arms

Standing DB hammer curl, 1 arm at a time, strict: 60 X 6
DB preacher curl, strict, full range: 45 X 6

Close grip decline bench press: 225 X 10; 225 X 6; 185 X 10

A few more sets of db hammer curls, a set or two more DB preacher curls, a set of pressdowns, a set of DB side laterals w/ light weight, slow controlled reps....


I'm looking pretty :bb3: for not eating enough and drinking here and there.

Things are still pretty weird in general, it'll be prob. a few more weeks till I'm back into the swing of things....

Chest

Interesting workout. Drank an Endurorush for the first time...:run:

Incline BB: 255 X 5 +1 w/ mucho help from spotter

Incline DB: 100 X 10 (was happy w/ this one for 2nd set)

Incline BB: 225 X 6 + 1 w/ ZERO strength on the attempted 7th, don't even know why I tried it. :blink:

Flat BB: 100 X 4

At this point I was toast.....

Prob did 2 more sets of DB presses, 1 set machine flyes, 1 set DB flyes, 2 sets of DB front lateral raises.....probably some other weaksauce BS too.

It was weird, I didn't want to leave the gym, I just wanted to keep pushing and pushing, but after like the 3rd or 4th set my strength was that of a pre pubescent girl. :bruce3:

I'm in a really weird mood right now.:fool2: I took 60mcg clen w/ a bit of caffeine powder, a reset AD, 5 IGF-2s, 3 sfRPM betas, and some torem first thing in the morning....Then pre workout 5 more IGF-2s, 2 more sfRPM betas, another Reset AD, and a BSN Endurorush....:blink::blink::blink::blink:

So like I said, I was in a bit of a weird mood......

Went back to the gym for some back.

Overhand medium grip pullups BW (233) X 12 PR; X 8

Some other random crap. Point being.....PR'd my pullups! :dance: :head: These reps were awesome too, explosive as all sh1t on the way up, like I was gonna propel myself through the roof. Nice and slow on the way down.:thumbsup:
 
Attempt at Legs

Been taking clen, not eating enough, not drinking nearly enough water....didn't eat this morning, went to do a leg workout. Last time I squatted I got 275 X 14.

Squat 295 X 3. :blink: My muscles and my lower back hurt a good amount during these. Just wasn't feeling it. Probably moderate-severe dehydration and potassium loss.

Leg Ext. RACK X 15. Burned like a sonofa*****.

Did like 3 sets of light curls, a set of light cable pressdowns, 2 sets of light shoulder presses, and 20 min. of cardio.

I gotta get my diet in order again. :rant: On one hand I'm looking pretty lean, OTOH I'm looking flat and not feeling so great. Ate better so far today, drank a lot of water too, took some taurine...
 
If any of you have been around for here for a long time (>3 years) you know that at some times I have had difficulty making good decisions. Well I recently made a pretty sh1tty one. I'm probably gonna be in a pretty deep funk for a while. When it rains it pours, and it hasn't stopped raining. The least I could do for myself is to be responsible, ride out the sh1t that has happened that was out of my control, and not cause further sh1t for myself. I've been known to have self-destructive tendencies, though I thought I had grown out of them for the most part... :sad:

things always seem at first much worse than they really are...sometimes is takes a couple days for people to think rationally...ride the slow ass wave of time.....(I say this bc you know what i mean)

I've been feeling so sh1tty lately that I don't feel like doing legs or deadlifts/abs/calves, so I've been just hitting up back/chest/arms w/ less rest than usual.

Flat Bench: 245 X 7
Incline DB: 100 X 10
Flat Bench: 225 X 4 :wtf: No rest incline DB 85 X 4.
Few more sets at pretty homosexual weights compared to what i'm used to.
DB hammer curls, strict, 1 arm at a time 55 X 7 + 1 (forced w/ other arm).
Some more BS.


Word. I'll be aight...
 
Are you changing up the order in which you're doing these?

You would be surprised how much less you can do if you do your first exercise last.

Just suggesting a possible explanation to the "wimpiness" of your lifts.

Not really dude. I compare 1st set vs. 1st set, 2nd vs. 2nd, on down every week.

I'm getting weak dude. Its a combination of diet, sleep, stress, and...
 
really the diet, sleep and stress are enough to do it. We got rep raped again, so now its something like 5 million per crown. Probably my fault really
 
switch up your whole style of training. Take a boxing class. Pull a sled. Get some kettlebells. Take a yoga class.

Start a hobby. Build a robot. Buy a vaporizor. :D

Don't let PI give you those "massages" anymore either... he is stealing your chi.
 
What is the term for a chemical synthesized specifically to impact a biological reaction in order to produce a desired effect? :think:

Crap workout. Looking mighty vascular though. BW down to 221.5 :sad:. I gotta get this sh1t back together.
