SNS Focus XT Log from Yeahright

The only thing that concerns me about the Focus XT formula is the high levels of caffeine = 200mg. Most energy drinks contain something like 80mg (NS +C has 125mg, I believe). PE only has about 35mg, deriving it from Kola Nut extract that it contains. When I feel that I need it, I can easily boost the caffeine component of PE by ingesting hot dark chocolate (cocoa) with a bit of coffee added. The dark choc, aside from the caffeine it provides, appears to have a synergistic effect with the various energy drink formulae.

It would be nice to see SNS come up with a low-caffeine version of Focus XT or even a new product that de-emphaizes caffeine for those of us that might be hypersensitive to the stuff.

Caffeine really helps kick off the formula in terms of providing a quick and then a sustained energy release and if you go over various user logs you can see that due to the way the formula is designed that you dont see individuals report a crash from the product.

200 mg of caffeine has always been pretty much the standard dose in this industry on thermos and energy products. Also, according to a chart online, 200 mg of caffeine is the equivelanet of 2 cups of coffee.

We have looked into the idea of doing a caffeine free version, but am not sure if there is enough demand at this point.

I'm not especially sensitive to caffeine so I'm not a good judge of that but my coworker (who now loves Focus XT) reports that she is. When I showed her the caffeine content she was shocked and told me that this didn't cause any of the negative effects she normally gets with caffeine. I can only speculate as to why.....but yeah, this like most nootropics is going to come down to individual body chemistry.

Domo arigato to both of you for the insights and assurances on the caffeine concern. Any of you have any sleep issues if you use Focus XT or coffee in the evening? I usually exercise in the evening & prefer to use this type of product 20-30 minutes prior to exercise.

My concern is that if I put caffeine in my system too late in the day, I'll have a restless night. I'm not quite as sensitive to coffee as I was 15-20 yrs ago but I am still wary of putting large amounts caffeine in my body in the evening.

Back in the day... when I was competing a lot during the '80s, as little as 1/3 cup of coffee was too much for me. It would act as an ergogenic aid for about 30 minutes and then the jitters would hit me & degrade my preformance. Haven't really had this type of experience with any energy powders or drinks that I've been using for the past (scant) decade.

I did find that NeuroStim+C worked better for me than the unleaded version. Quite often tho' I'd use only a 2/3 dose of the +C stuff. Sometimes, I'd supplement this with PowerDrive (which I believe does not use caffeine). However, there were a few times that I used a full dose of NS +C (125mg caffeine) in concert with a half cup of coffee. I don't believe that I suffered any consequences with the latter NS combination so, hopefully, the caffeine in Focus XT won't be an issue either.

Did I see someone mention in this thread that they still had very good results with a lesser dosage of Focus XT?

SNS, have you guys considered a reduced-caffeine version rather than a decaf version of Focus XT? A low-caffeine variation may be more appropriate for evening use or for ADD (ADHD) individuals that want some caffeine but not too much. Don't know if this idea works for you either at this time since, as you mentioned in an earlier post, the NueroStim ppl decided that their decaf version wasn't selling after they introduced their +C version. Something to consider tho'. There may be a market if you rename the alternate version.

Looking forward to see my Focus XT arrive in the post since it appears to have a lotta gr8 stuff in the formula.

(Ooops, sorry about encroaching on your log yeahright. Gotta a little carried away with the length of my last 2 posts; new to this whole log concept).

The amount of actives in Focus XT are high for the type of supplement that it is. If you wanted to do a lower caffeine content, you could go with 2/3's of a scoop and still have a good deal of active ingredients.

I always appreciate suggestions, I just think that if we do another version, it will be caffeine free. I honestly am not sure whether we will pursue this option or not.

LOG DAY TWENTY NINE

My goal in taking the product today: Preparation for and then delivering a presentation to a group of people who have very legitimate reasons to be upset with me.

DOSAGE: Per the instructions, one scoop in water at 7:00 am and a sulbutamine tablet.

EFFECT: The prep work went well. The presentation went adequately. They gave me the latitude to tackle their problem my way (they had previously been instructing me to follow a much more timid course of action) and I tore into it following our meeting. The downside is that my way gets people's attention and I ended up working into the evening responding to the kerfuffle that I stirred up.

K, I'll probaby start with that suggestion, particularly for evening use. On more Q: Is the designation Caffeine Anhydrous particularly significant? Does it mean anything more than caffeine in a powdered form (devoid of water)? Is the effect of Caffeine Anhydrous any different from other caffeine?

(Sorry, that was actually 3 more Q's).

LOG DAY THIRTY

GOAL IN TAKING PRODUCT: Testing (again) how combining Focus XT and IBE's NEURO-BALANCE would effect my cognition and work focus/attitude.

DOSAGE: Per the instructions, one scoop of Focus XT in water at 6:00 am and 1 tsp of NEURO-BALANCE on an empty stomach.

EFFECT: I had a hearing today and because of my role I was able to sit back and think about the big picture of the situation we were dealing with. After three hours of more-or-less pointless testimony I proposed a global settlement to all the parties which they accepted. So, all in all a good day's work. After that, I went back to my office and couldn't motivate myself to even log-in to my email or listen to my voicemail. I dinked around on the web for a bit, answered a couple phone calls and then called it a day and went home. :run:

Caffeine Anhydrous is basically just being technical as for label wording.

LOG DAY THIRTY ONE

GOAL IN TAKING PRODUCT: A meeting where I needed to persuade a group of people to see and embrace my wisdom on a given matter.

DOSAGE: Per the instructions, one scoop of Focus XT in water at 6:00 am.

EFFECT: Mission accomplished!

:bow28:

LOG DAY THIRTY TWO

GOAL IN TAKING PRODUCT: Hoping to make the best of a tough day of negotiations.

DOSAGE: Per the instructions, one scoop of Focus XT in water at 8:00 am.

EFFECT: Negotiations completed after nearly 2 years of effort (bloody hell). I'm reasonably satisfied with the outcome but I'm going to hold people accountable for the screwed-up process. The Focus XT really seems to provide the mental endurance that I prize in my line of work.

LOG DAY THIRTY THREE

GOAL IN TAKING PRODUCT: Wanting to be mentally alert for a lunch meting which is going to serve as a sort-of debriefing/lessons learned discussion from the just concluded negotiations.

DOSAGE: Per the instructions, one scoop of Focus XT in water at 8:00 am.

EFFECT: Positive energy and mood throughout the morning and into early afternoon.

I think it's probably time to close the book on this log. I'm starting to get redundant and SNS has just recruited a new gaggle of people to test and log this product for them. Anyone interested in trying FOCUS XT should read their logs to see how their experiences compare to my own.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this product and it will have a permanent place in my supplement collection. I hope that folks got some idea of the various ways to use this product from reading my log.

If you do decide to go on and try the product yourself, please feel free to post your experiences here.

Thanks for reading the log and thanks to SNS for putting out a product which exceeds its claims!

Appreciate you doing the log and I love the format that you used.

RANDOM UPDATE

DOSAGE: One capsule of IBE X-Force at 7:00am with a full meal combined with one scoop SNS Focus XT..

CONTEXT/PURPOSE: I wanted to see what one capsule of X-Force (half normal dosage) felt like combined with a scoop of SNS Focus XT. My idea being that what I was looking for was using the X-Force as a solid base with added nootropics. I wanted the energy and mood lift of X-Force but knew that I wouldn't be able to get physical until later in the day. Focus XT is a staple of mine now so wanted to see if there was a synergy.

EFFECT: Good mood, sustained energy. I had a 5 hour work commitment which involved schmoozing with people, entertaining them and then giving a brief speech to a crowd of 100. Everything went well. People laughed, my boss smiled, all was right with the world. I went home and took my kids on a couple mile hike. Still felt good and energetic afterwards and ended up staying awake until midnight playing online videogames (Battlefield 2142).

Good to hear. I'm always interested in updates as I'm interested in different ways to use Focus myself.

RANDOM UPDATE #2

DOSAGE: One dainty scoop of SNS Focus XT..

CONTEXT/PURPOSE: My Nutraplanet delivery arrived today. The wife has been sick with the flu. I thought that some Focus XT might alleviate that overall drained feeling one gets with the flu so I made her a glass.

EFFECT: First thing she said was "hey this tastes sweeter - better." So, I made a quick glass for myself and yes she was right. It appears that this product has been reformulated because the taste is much sweeter (not too sweet). I actually liked the bite that the old version had but this is pretty pleasant to drink. The product did in fact make my wife feel better and she actually got her butt out of bed and did a whole host of household chores. :woohoo:

We didnt make a big issue of changing the flavor, we actually didnt mention it to see what peoples response would be. So far, it seems most everyone likes the new flavor better. (Except me...I liked the bite of the old one lol)

Glad it helped her.

Was it just the flavor that was changed or did you do anything different with the actives?

Actives are the exact same. Just the flavor.

RANDOM UPDATE #3

DOSAGE: One dainty scoop of SNS Focus XT..

CONTEXT/PURPOSE: Had a couple drinks with the wife (rare event) the night before and felt kinda poisoned the next morning.

EFFECT: Within 10 minutes I was feeling better and within 30 minutes I was completely ready to go for the day. SNS could probably market this to college kids as a hangover cure. :woohoo:

Thanks for the update. I can attest for it being good for a hangover myself lol

Hi Yeahright

I'm gonna be starting a immensely boring physical job in about a weeks time, do you think Focus XT would be a worthwhile purchase. The job is very mentally draining and the days take so long to finish.

Thanks
