Filing a patent if granted gives them legal rights to it in exchange for the info to be disclosed (describing the invention) which in Ostarine's case was made hard to ascertain which isomer (compound) was pursued until later. I'm not sure if it was intentional but it can be assumed so.

Also Ostarine's phase trials were a joint effort
