every one always says "your destined for HRT for life since you ****ed yourself up with abuse...yada yada"...
well im 25, and have low levels. my first cycle was an HRT dose from a clinic this year.
My new doc basically wants me to stay on indefinitly. i will tell you this...IM not going to do that, but I do plan on using for a long long time, 20 week cycles, take off for 8 weeks or so, then repeat.
since i am 25, is it bad that i will be on HRT for life now?
serious health risks? why is HRT so "bad" to be on?
When someone says that he is on HRT there is good possibility of total misunderstanding.
H may stand for:
1#-use of steroids (bad)
2#-use of excessive amount of testosterone (bad)
3#-use of balanced variety of human bio-identical hormones (good)
(1 & 2) are harmful to our bodies and not discussed on this board.
(1 & 2) are run for certain amount of time (cycled) and after cycle PCT post cycle theraphy is attempted.
When PCT works we do not hear about it.
When PCT do not work we hear about it but any help that is proposed is fruitless.
Some claim that they were succesful after their (super-special) PCT, do not belive them.
People who had usuccesful PCT and now have low T levels will live, some have unaffected sex function, some exercise and build good muscles.
Recently publicized long term study finds that men who had their BAT (BioAvailableTestosterone) in upper 1/4 of range, live 41% longer.
Low testosterone levels are conducive to long term problems
psychological
metabolic
there is often posted long list describing details of those problems.
===========================================
Someone who find him self with low testosterone should make attempt to restore it.
It does take some work to do it. Few doctors know how to do it right. Many (of the willing type) doctors are misguided because they borrow from knowledge base of steroid users.
Other doctors look for quick buck.
Better way is to not concentrate on testosterone alone.
There is about 15 major hormones that should be monitored and if possible, adjusted.
So many of us need HRT.
The good kind HRT
