Yes.

First off, when you do give blood, look into a "power red" or "double red".

Stay hydrated every day. Body weight/2 = minimum number of ounces of water to be consumed.

Here are some possible supplements that may (or may not) help and that you may want to research:

• DMB/Naringen/Grapefruit
• Inositol Hexaphosphate (IP6)
• Alpha Lipoic Acid
• Green Tea/Green Tea Extract
• Losartan (prescribed pharma product)
• Tyrosine (possibly, but without its co-factors B6 and C)
• Vitamin K2 (MK7)
• Nattokinase
• Quercetin
• Curcumin
• Citrulline Malate

Avoid excessive red meat, iron and NAC.

everything else is good...my rbc has run high for last 4 years, been on trt for around 12 years now. my dose of trt was cut in half 4 years ago due to polycythemia and now it is starting to creep up again-last bloods it was slightly above range but up from the previous bloods.

Hmmm, my general feeling would be to try drinking more water to start and get retested. You could just be dehydrated if all of the other values on the cbc are normal.

Do you have any other symptoms? Phlebotomy is the surefire way to reduce levels if you are having symptoms.

In other words - if you have no sides I wouldn't worry too much and woukdn't mess with more supplements that could make things harder to diagnose. Just keep going, increase water intake and check again.

If you are having sides, I wouldn't mess with supplements right now and would go get blood drawn.

I would also rule out sleep apnea of course, but obviously when on TRT everyone jumps to that. Not sure why it would creep back up if you had it all normalized though for a while. But you can find a works with things I don't know.

I've been using a cpap machine for several years now...no symptoms at all-just worried my trt dose might get cut again--I've went from 200mg weekly down to 100mg weekly already.

Naringin has been recommended by several members in my TRT group for controlling RBC/Hematocrit. Several have sworn by it.

Agreed, I've used the same product (I just ran out). I can't find it in bulk powder ...

You may also want to try bioperine (black pepper extract) as an absorption enhancer.
Piperine you mean? That's something I always look for with my tumeric curcumin supplements

Yes. Piperine (from black pepper) can enhance the absorption or bioavailability of certain compounds. Bioperine is a branded extract of black pepper which is 95% piperine, meaning it is standardized to minimum 95% piperine.

Ya, black pepper extract, it's a ingredient I'm always happy to see included in stuff

I've read that piperine can wreak havoc on your gut lining and poke holes in it?

grapefruit juice would enhance absorption more than OJ.
Are you referencing grapefruit juice because of the CYP3A4 inhibition? While you may be correct, I was referencing absorption may, theoretically, possibly, be better if it’s consumed with other citrus bioflavonoids. I have no reason to believe this, other than a thought that the flavonoids may act synergistically with each other. Seems like flavonoids consumed individually have poor bioavailability. They might do better when consumed together with a citrus fruit juice or an orange for example. Or a grapefruit!

Idk. Just a thought.

Seeing how it's actually good for your stomach and promotes gut health I highly doubt it

It can alter permeability of the lining which could cause issues. Also be weary of consuming with other drugs. Prob not an issue for most but still rather use other absorption compounds

some prescription drugs specifically warn against grapefruit juice because of increasing absorption--I know for a fact if I drink a glass of grapefruit juice with a Viagra effect is much increased and I only need a quarter[25mg]of a 100mg tab to get effective results-this is great because I only get 12 100mg tabs every 3 months.

Yep, I get what you mean now. We were just talking about absorption in two different ways/mechanisms.
