i think so too. i had really good results with drive in terms of performance and physique, and ive heard nothing but good things about AX. and the two bottles i have are the new driven sports formula, which hasnt really changed, but does include the extended release technology.

btw. sam if youre not busy on saturday, my friend that used to work at peak finally got her new gym open. crossfit la verne. theyre having the grand opening on saturday. if youre interested i can PM you all the details. theres a workout at like 4 i think, but my girlfriend and i arent going to participate. were more going to support her and hang out. its going to be like a party after the workout with food and stuff.

I know how hard that is with straps, good deal! Did you keep the Db's at your side when you descended or did you hold them to the front?

Nice with the 365 dead with no straps either. You could choke a buffalo with your grip strength.

nice man. I started leaving the straps at home and although I have some more calluses my grip strength has increased like crazy.
My 1rm is 425 without straps. I can't even picture myself using straps again.

My strapless max is a little more then 405, but less then 425. However, I use my Versa Grips like crazy.
 
thanks guys. yeah lately ive been trying to not use straps at all and really work on my hook grip. also been trying to lay off the belt a bit. but i still feel a bit safer with it on for my 1-3 rep sets.

i do the single arm db deads to the center, so its essentially a one arm db sumo squat. lets you get down nice and low and get a sweet range of motion.

also been doing snatch grip deads no straps. that is killer on the forearms. most i can do is 275 for a double or triple, no straps no belt. make it elevated and its an even deeper stretch. ive been trying to find alternatives to heavy squats cuz im really not able to get the form down for the life of me.

***yesterday, woke up, peed, dropped my droors, got on the scale. 211.5! hell yes***

also, if i can make a movie recommendation. "harsh times" with christian bale. check it out. pretty legit.

Gotcha. I do them with the Db's at my sides, like a Trap Bar, Deadlift. 100's to 120's Db's don't "REQUIRE" a strap, but I still use it.

ive never tried full on db deads. i wish i had a trap bar to do em tho. i like the feeling of a compact system; narrow grip, narrow stance, shorter bar.

for instance i get a better contraction using the ez curl bb rather than an olympic bb for bent over rows.

again, instant pump during the first couple sets of each body part, maintained and increased throughout the workout.

shoulder felt pretty good. bicep didnt feel too strained. pump was outstanding during the cable hammers. kept it nice and slow, and a nice tight contraction.

strength has been feeling about the same. a little extra here or there, but nothing crazy. i feel that i didnt really gain anything from the jungle warfare, but a sweet kick in libido.

awesome awesome workout. up 1 rep on bench @ 225. got up to 60's on shoulder press. that is the highest ive gone since coming back to shoulder movements. when i stopped i was hitting 85's for sets of 6 or 8. so im almost there.

again, pump was instant. maintained and increased throughout.

shoulder felt real good. hardly any pain or discomfort.

the ez curl rows are awesome. i feel them a lot more than when i use a long barbell.

i felt like i could have gotten the 90's up on incline db press, but i decided to stop while ahead. chest strength is definitely returning fast.

really good leg workout, again. im already sore, and feel lucky that i dont have class tmrw so that i dont have to hike around campus with jello legs.

squats felt good, but i still dont feel like i have good form. whatever. it will improve over time i suppose.

tmrw is my last dose of jungle warfare, in the morning. tmrw i also start primaforce cissus, dosed at 4 caps a day, once in morning once in evening. completely according to their recommended dosage schedule.

i will continue this until my winter quarter ends which is in about 2 weeks. ill take spring break off of training, and begin my recomp at the start of my spring quarter. will be interesting to see my progress over the 11 week quarter.

day 55 - 3/14/09

a mini update. im done with this log. i suppose it ended a week or so ago when i started getting too busy with life. but pslin has been done since monday i believe. maybe even sunday. weight has been kinda all over the place. was 214 a couple days ago, but this morning it was 211. so when nutrition is off one day, im in the lower range, and when im in the zone, im about 213-214.

deads have taken a turn for awesome-town haha.
yesterday (friday) i hit 315 for a clean set of 12, using versa grips and my belt. then after that i hit 365 for 5 with versa grips and a belt. moist hands plagued that set tho, as i still had another rep or two in me. but, i forgot a) use chalk and b) wipe my hands before the set. oh well.

ive added a decent amount of muscle to my frame, and am extremely pleased with the results of this 'bulk'. i feel like im still around 13-14%bf, as i can see a hint of abs when im dry in the morning or after a really good ab session. arms are bigger, chest is filled out more, back is wider and thicker, and my legs have grown a considerable amount. i think the majority of my muscle gain has been in my legs. theyre not pictured due to jungle which currently grows on them, but they have come a long way since the summer. calves are also developing pretty nicely.

i will be writing up a couple product reviews coming up after finals week this week. pslin, adrenaline, jungle warfare, and 1-c be will the specific products. ill also post a general overview of the log.
 
Your back looks good. The lower portion of your lats protrude nicely and your lower back has a nice forming of a future Christmas tree. The protrusions are there and it molds that area well. Sweet deal.

Nah bro, j/k, very nice work.
The only thing I might mention is leaning back a little too far on the pull, but that's a matter of preference I guess. I tend to be a little more straight on my form.
Again, good job, looking solid.
 
you are leaning back pretty far and you are locking your knees out a little early. Try to lock them out at the same as your hips.
