Pimple on face, lots of swelling...?

FL3X MAGNUM

Legend
I'm not one to get acne, but a few days ago I had what can only be described as feeling like a pimple, deep under the skin on my upper cheek bone next to my nose. It raised the skin very noticeably and I couldn't take it anymore, so I held a needle over a flame, rinsed the soot off with clean water, and stabbed into my face for an exit route. I then squeezed the living hell out of it multiple times with no luck, but I swear I felt something give under my skin. Now the area is even more raised, as well as the surround area, leaving a good 1-2 inch section of puffiness on my face, going from the bottom of my nose up to the bottom of my eye.
What gives? Is it possible this is nerve damage? I can still feel everything, and I don't believe it's infected.
What can I try next?

Might be what I call a carbunkle, try a few hot/warm compresses like with a wash cloth or something and see if that helps

Thanks, I'll try it

Sebatious sist most likely, it is a gland that gets clogged and fills with oil. I get them from time to time on my chin area it seems, they are a pain, literally, but after a while they either go away or get to a point you can pop them like a zit and go down quickly. I always go at them after a week or so right after a hot shower, seems to make it less painful if you do get it to drain.

You could be right. I get small ones on my jaw line, usually close to my ear but sometimes by my chin. Could be why it wouldn't "pop" so soon. I will try the warm compresses first and then just try my best to leave it alone for a while.
Sucks being so big and so noticeable lol...not fun at work

Yeah man, they are embarrassing but the doc told me there is little, if anything you can do about them. I throw some clearasil on them and it helps a little with swelling but not that much.

Yeah I got a pimple bubble under my right eye. My sister and my workout partner both asked me if I got punched as soon as I saw them lol.

What your are describing kind of sounds like what I have(maybe).

Well it looks like the swelling has gone mostly down and I no longer look like I've been punched in the face lol. I was hit in almost the same spot a few years ago and it did give me nerve damage and had swollen up the same, so I was nervous (no pun intended) about nerve damage here. Now my main concern is this round .25" red/blue blemish on my face lol. I think I'm just going to leave it alone now and see if it goes away.
Yayyyy no nerve damage!!!
I appreciate all the feedback :)

try using a benzoyl peroxide acne face wash twice a day for first week then one a week for second then off for a week

We have some acne stuff over at NTBM....i've never had to use it but I know there are some logs floating around here with pics....they work well

Yeah I used to get these all the time you can't really "pop" them all you can really do is wait it out until it goes away it should get better as time goes on and actually trying to pop it will usually make the situation worse and make it larger. If it is not surface acne then the usual acne suggestions will be worthless. Only things that can help with these are oral routes (aka antibiotics) to help with under the surface cyst problems. I had horrible acne for years (thankfully been good for about 3 years) so I have way too much experience with this lol

ugh I've had a huge zit breakout this week, I havn't had this many zits since I was 16, it's only on my forehead, but all over. I was eating super clean for about 5 months, I've taken the last week to eat whatever I wanted pizza, candy w.e and I went from 0-1 zit on my forehead to about 12-15 monster zits :( Looks like I'll be staying away from order out again lol.

Dude so thankful I never had a big acne problem. It must be pretty frustrating to deal with.
Heh try having a sist..down stairs so to speak. Now that is annoying.
LOL...not laughing at you but that sounds annoying, could be mistaken for something else ;)

How is it that that happens? I swear every time I eat crappy I end up with a few zits on my nose and forehead. If only everyone knew all the benefits of eating clean lol.

My problem on my face has pretty much vanished now. Just a bump I can feel.

Mine still pretty bad, not as bad tho, hopefully in another week it's all gone lol

It is interesting eating habits have never been proven to cause breakouts (besides milk) but I deff noticed when I used to eat certain foods it would make my situation worse when I had bad acne. Perhaps it is something hormonal that changes with the altered dietary intake..or the oils from the food get on your face?
