One of the Reasons Great Supplements are Banned and or Discontinued

Big retailers have so much more insurance 'red tape issues' to consider. There's a few stores around my place that are 'small' single entity businesses that carry more hormones than protein, awkward.

I have one too.People will say "oh,is that one of those things you get from DSN?"The prices aren't too bad but most of what they sell is designer combos. If something they sell is on the ionternet it will be cheaper but most wont come up when I search it.Besides if I wanted 2 or 3 designers at once,I'd just buy them by themselves so I can tweak the doese or drop one if needed.

yea some place by me sold one of my budies omnevol ( same thing as sustevol SD, PP, HD) in one and told him it was a natty booster with liver protectant. i was like WTF

Not sure if your barking up the right tree here, chief.

maybe i should of read more of the thread...all i read was dumb people doing even dumber stuff. nowhere did it say where a salesmen stepped in and told these people whats up...just wanted to clarify, and assumed so anyway.

glad to hear that there are more honest salespeople out there...like i said i wasn't calling people out, just wanting us to actually help people. bodybuilders/fitness freaks are walking billborads and seen as dumb meat heads, getting people interested and showing them that we have invalueable knowledge and dedication in what we do helps them look past the stereotype!

your right. most guys who work in shops dont know that much. Most people who come in are very thankful that I work that, cause I know my shizzle :hammer:

there are plenty of knowledgeable sales people in the supplement industry like myself and others, but just as any industry there are also the idiots. thats how every business industry works. people who say novedex xt is novaldex for instance.

Oh yah the people who work in gyms are usually so undereducated or inexperienced might be a better word.

Hey you guys should come to Canada and walk into a supp store, they have no concept of any of the products we use. All they know is MT. A lot of them think the products are actually good and are big believers in hyped products. I keep telling them the products are a joke, and there I stand a 49 year old monster, living proof and they still don't believe. Stupidity is a very powerful force.

I dont request for epistane, and ph's. They dont carry them for insurance reasons. Might carry 3-ad though. MIGHT.

I know Nutra's sales of Epi, and cycle support, and PCT have been upped by me walking guys through how to do a PH cycle
That's the mark of a true knowledgeable person^^right there. A true smart man teaches others(like you do), a selfish person stays greedy for him/herself and just blows others off (with all due respect, I see more of the latter on this forum, and others), than more examples like yourself my man...

Props to ya

the end of the day people for the most part are just plain stupid. they will always try anything based on the idea that if they sell it, it cant be all that bad. So foolish

haha...i love the out of shape personal trainers! me and my boys will be at the gym and the trainers clients will be looking at us like wtf am i doing listening to this twat!

Thats one thing that motivates me to become PT'r is because of how out of shape most of them are.I feel that should help me get clients.I think if I were out of shape and another who was out of shape wanted to train me,I'd have to decline and get someone who clearly knows what they're doing.Thats kinda like a tattoo artist with no tattoos.

x2 dude. i love it. ther personal trainers will be trying to show them and they just stair of at some big person haha

Yah it's hard for newbs sometimes. They have these trainers that don't know squat trying to tell them what to do then they see these juiced guys who more times than not don't have a clue how to train. The try to duplicate what they see the big guy doing and often end up getting injured or overtraining. Just remember when you walk into a gym at any given moment, about 98% of the people there are doing something wrong. Sad really. I used to try and help people but gave up when I found most people don't listen anyway.

The funniest thing for me is all the little guys doing heavy half reps. The never change, and their ego won't let them remove weight from the bar and do the exercise corectly. Most young guys I see are lifting a weight too heavy for them. Don't try and tell them that though lol..

things have changed a lot. going to a gym used to mean a lot of big, sweaty, smelly guys and tons and tons of loose free weights everywhere. a few contenders and a lot of wantobe's but everyone very serious about what they were there for. no treadmills or machines, just some hardcore work and sweat. believe me, no personal trainers. just some old dude who would yell in your ear if you were doing it wrong.

Yah now that were old they won't let us yell in anybody's ear. Now that's not fair...

.....all this coming from the guy who tried to sell me Gro-Bust when I came into the store the other day and told him i had puffy nips.....

Invalid Link Removed
(he said they even had a free bottle of lotion and that I was to rub it on my nips twice daily for maximum results)

Sick joke man...just sick :(

:p

i occasionally do the half reps and heavy weight. it helps with a pump

I used to do partials with some exercises, doesn't really seem to do a lot for me. One think I am against is partials for any kind of chest exercise, because almost all the benetit is a the lower range of the exercise. Same thing with any kind of curl you really aren't getting much out of doing the upper half of the exercise. I would recommend just doing the lower half and stopping when the contraction ends, going all the way up just allows you to rest some.

Thats exactly what I'm doing right now.Partial reps in the bottom range of motion or wherever the most stress is placed on the muscle. So curls are kinda in between all the way down and up.I bought branch warrens dvd and noticed that he does this on his reps.So I started and loved it.Yes I copied a profesional genetically gifted, juiced BB'r!And I love it!I change my routines all the time and this is one more way to change things up.

my max and last set is a strip set, start heavy for a rep or two, strip some weight off and bang out 3-4 more reps and then maybe take a couple more plates off for another couple of reps, these are not forced rep sets but a spotter is good to have on hand just in case the last rep just doesn't want to go up.

start heavy - finish light

i like to throw some Partial reps into the middle of a set but will always look to finish with a full range movement or maybe a couple of partial reps at the end of a set once full range motion is no longer able.

full sets of only doing partial reps just doesn't cut it for me. how's the guys that load up the leg press or squat rack with every plate in the gym and move in down 1 inch, banging and rattling away, granting and screaming but going nowhere, a whole lot of nothing! lol

yah your talking drop sets. This is a trick a lot naturals use to be able to keep the intensity high. It's all about intensity and you can't always go heavy.

Oh and I am a big believer in reverse pyramid (doing heavier sets first), you just have to make sure you warm up really well.

What I've grown fond of doing is 1 really light warmup set, then stretch, then a moderately light warmup set, then my heaviest set for as many reps as possible, then lower weight as many reps as possible, then finally lower weight with as many reps as possible.

For example, a usual bench routine with 5 sets will be as follows:

1) 95 for 10 reps - slow, then stretch for a while
2) 135 for 10 reps - slow
3) 265 for 4-5 reps
4) 245 for 6-8 reps
5) 225 for 8-10 reps

Works extremely well for me, and I get at least a little sore the day after every workout.

Perfect example here, Now I would do a couple more sets if bench is the only chest exercise your doing but this is definately what I was talking about. I do 4/4/6/8/12 or something of that nature. Then I try to increase my lifts each week. Serious strength and mass builder.

There is a formula that uses Prilephins (sp?) that tells you how many sets you can do at what % of max weight. It really works well but I forget it.

Okay saturday I was working and some kid came in. I caught him looking at the MRI NO2 and CE2.

He asked me if they would be a good combo for gaining mass. I said it's possible but it depends on a lot of other things. Diet, Exercise Program other supplements your taking.

I got closer to him to try to talk to him about his diet/exercise program. I could smell the stench of Cigarette Smoke. That's one reason that he's probably not tapping into all of his potential. I was going to explain to him about it but I didn't and further along with the time I spent talking to him, I realized I would have ended up talking to a brick wall

I proceeded to ask him if he took any protein. He replied "Oh you mean that cardboard tasting stuff, yeah I don't take that ****"

If I hadn't been an employee I would've just said sorry I can't help you.

He then said while I was thinking of something to suggest to him "Should I just take steroids or something?" I didn't even answer that question.

"Multivitamin?" I asked. "No I don't take that either"

I told him that those two things are the bare essentials and he's looking at Creatine and Nitric Oxide.

I recommended him a Whey Protein, A Multivitamin and Size On.

I asked him before he went to the register what he does for his diet. I figured he knew something about what he should be eating. I told him needs at least 3500-5000 Calories a day. And he said "Oh I just go to McDonalds and eat like 4 Big Macs"

No Lie

And I said well that's not the best source of calories and protein at all.

And this kid wonders why he's not gaining weight and putting on mass.

I made him a quick list of what his diet should be and the kind of foods he needs to be eating just because I was feeling generous.

Again had I not been an employee serving the ignorant public I'd have walked away with the mention of dieting on greasy fast food.

This guys wants to gain mass, came into Vitamin Shoppe for Creatine and Nitric Oxide meanwhile he doesn't even eat enough good calories and Protein to sustain an Ethiopian

Well he's getting plenty of cals with 4 big macs, thats for sure!Just too much junk with them and not a good protien to cal ratio. You should of told him to make sure to get some fries too for complex carbs and a big coke in his postwo meal to spike insulin levels!

i didnt know that M1d by lg was a PH. i talked to a few people and they all said it ****, its the fake md1t
