O/T Anyone know someone in Publishing?

dsade

NutraPlanet Fanatic
As some of you may or may not know, I have around 25 Children's books I have written (several posted over at M&M). The process of trying to fit with an illustrator, and try to shop these around is amazingly time consuming.

The projects in this industry are keeping me totally swamped.

Does anyone happen to have any contacts in the publishing industry that they are willing to hook me up with? Commissions would be gladly offered for a successful contract.

Can I get some love?

Edited for impending publishing.

Bravo for Russel the Mussel. :clap2: Pretty good story dsade, I think it would be goodfor kids.

Thanks...I dont suppose you can draw, can you? :)

I was thinking about self publishing a few copies of this, and bringing them to sell at the Arnold.

D SADE there are some very good on-demand web2.0 publishing sites. you might want to look into that
Those work ok for text-heavy books, but when you start looking into something that has intense illustrations and a profit margin of basically zero (they charged over $6 per copy for something that would sell for at most $5...so they would either not sell or sell for a loss), then the only way this is going to succeed is by standard contract/bookstore mass produced items.

I appreciate the suggestion, though...this is what I am going to end up doing for this story for small events.

You should post this in General Chat (if you have not already).

The NutraPlanet forum gets more traffic than the GC forum, I think. :)

D,
I know an illustrator and I have contacted them to see if they can help you out at all! Will let you know as soon as I hear something!

Can I send that story to them if asked to see your work?

...SERIOUSLY!!

Excellent, thanks Mace.

Feel free to send them the story, yes. There are others that are more mainstream, some posted over at M&M, that I can send you as well.

Thanks, let's hope for the best...and I never forget the people that helped.

I'm bumping this with as a congrats to Dsade! I know this has been in the works for a while: Invalid Link Removed

Thank you, sir....I am very proud of how this came out. We're actually working on an activity book to go alng with it.

Since nobody else was anxious to publish it, we just started our own publishing company.

Oooh, an activity book too. Sounds like you are working on a Russel The Mussel Stack, lol! You could even top it off with a package deal and throw in a cheap little stuffed Russel The Mussel!
