NTNM - Diet , my un-scientific approach to leanness

I have some green salad on the side with each meal, didn't mention it, some mineral pills and Vit-C too.
Diet was altered some days ago. Now I have 1 smaller meal on off days, mainly a piece of meat (with some broccoli, or greens), also intra workout Karbolyn to give energy.

Today I decided to eat throughout the day and take off from training. It will be easy digestible stuff, like yogurt, bananas, tomatoes and some garlic-chicken. I just felt I needed it badly.

Basically, the diet changed to an ultra-hard intermittent fasting, with occasionally refeed. Progress pics on Saturday.

Pufff! You really inspire me bro, i have begin my low carb diet for about 10 days ago, and i really was cheating for 2 or 3 days already lol... but you know what? , from tomorrow on i will do it right, want to cut until x-mas, and now your Log is going to help me, so keep the beasty work and lets get those results :firedevil:

I think I'm half way through the cycle. Weight did NOT go down after losing the first 7 pounds. I'm recomping on 1 meal a day...

Today's workout was awesome! I'm too lazy to write it down.

You’re looking solid, I’d definitely stick to the recomping. Soon enough you’ll be a new person with the recomping.

It would set the "beast" free. We don't want that to happen. It would drop to the ground and bury its head into the soil, hurts like hell.

You just wanna see him with his pants off

That's nothing new. Most new members go through the hairygrandpa no pants pics pm's after about 6 months or so. Nothing surprises me anymore, except that time he shaved his pubes in a Hitler moustache. Made his junk look like an upside down exclamation point.

I remember when I painted the head green and let rtmilburn play with it, him thinking its an Hulk action figurine.

I can see the difference big brother... If you want to speed the process just low your carbs more, you could go 2 or 3 weeks in ketosis, i personally use sarms during keto diets, Osta at 15-20 mg will help leaning, keeping Strengths, and The Well-being Feeling, ... or double your BCAA intake to avoid a little bit of the Catabolic state during Ketosis... anyway, if you stick to your plan you will keep leaning up, It should take a little time, but between the 6 and 10 weeks of dieting, results will be more seeable.. Some persons can lean up faster than others, it is how it is.. but we all can and you are a "mashine" so keep the Beasty work big Brother! ;)

Don't like ketosis -but you are right, have to keep carbs lower. Takes time to dial all in. What strikes me most is, apparently I'm gaining muscles with only 1 meal a day.... this actually turns most broscience on its head. It should have been a CUT damnit -not a recomp.
Less carbs it is!

You know what?! .. i got also the same feelings of gaining muscles everytime while cutting, and even more strengths lifting, i guess when you are leaning you look more solid, definition appears, and vascularity shows a lot more, you just dont feel the pump, you can see it better, of course you could also be really gaining some muscles, you are treating your body different so who knows, one is for sure, if you see and feel that your gaining muscles, you are doing it right

and yes ketosis sucks!! Lol.. but is a very fast way to lean up

I see a big difference for just 3 weeks! ...It takes me 6 weeks to drop just a couple of lbs. lol

Hairygrandpa, Looking Good Brother! If you want that Lean Look,1 hour of Cardio twice a week..

I gonna do 4x 30 min instead, can't imagine doing 1 hour cardio in one go, my brain would go numb, or something.

This is all I can think of when I think about a lot of cardio Invalid Link Removed

HGP there is ZERO need for you to drop carbs, too many intensifying techniques at once sets up for massive failure... People who have done well on keto think that everyone should do it. Now there is nothing wrong with it but there IS something wrong with it in this particular diet strategy ifyou want to have ANY performance or feel good.

Also you are definitely losing fat at a cutting pace. YOur gear is doing it's job too. Be happy that you can recomp on very low calories while building or maintaining mass.

You are simply not eating enough to not be in ketosis or close. Having carbs right after or during and after your workout gets them all soaked up into the muscle quickly. To the point some people will go hypo an hour or two after the workout due to low blood sugar. Once glycogen is stored in your muscle it can not be released back into the blood stream. So it is left in the muscle to be used during the next bout of higher intensity exercise. That leaves lower blood sugar so the body has to break down fats into to ketones to use for energy throughout the day. Your body is doing this quite a bit and you are in ketosis. However the only time your body will register this is when you are creating so many ketones that they are also being urinated out. If you are in a perfect keto balance you will not always find them in the urine. That doesn't mean you are not creating ketones it just means that you are not creating enough to create waste.

There is a point of less returns and you already ran into it once. Let's not go back to that feeling of misery. Right now your workouts are productive, you are dropping fat very quickly. The scale may not be moving but the fat is! I don't remember seeing you look this good before... STAY THE COURSE!!!!!!!

As long as you keep making progress the way you are there is no need to make adjustments. It's working well right now don't break it!!!

If you insist on removing carbs replace them with some fats...

Agree! Thats why i`ve finished saying : " one is for sure, if you see and feel that your gaining muscles, you are doing it right". Not everyone responds the same way to some Types of diets

Exactly! I am very familiar with HGP's diets and experiments as well as how his body responds nutrients. I would say this one has been his best response to what he has been doing. Just had to go as minimal as possible then slip little things in to get him into the most productive deficit he could maintain. I think right now he is at that point where he is getting stellar fat loss results, and getting good performance in the gym. That is a great place to be if he can maintain it relatively comfortably in another 4-6 weeks he will see his top abs popping out and 8-10 he could be sporting a bit of a six pack depending on ab shape and size.

By the way HGP, I am jealous of those frigging biceps peaks brother!!!! Fugging stellar!!!!

Scale said this morning: 100kg. That is 220lbs, almost my starting weight. My fugging body seems to be as fuel efficient as a Prius. My goal was 200lbs, damnit!
Staying the course. Only change: more cardio, starting with 20min after each workout.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm glad we've got MrKleen73 around to keep me from doing stupid shyt. He's our voice of reason and the adult of the group! I only wish he would have been around when I was in my 20's. Would have saved me a bunch of trouble.

He does have some nice mountain tops on those biceps!

I guess, the straight bar BB curls and the smith machine drag curls are doing something. Before that I mainly did rowing (chin ups) for biceps.

Well as you get leaner they’ll get more pronounced, I can tell they’ll be peaking hard as you lose bf.

We need a MrKleen73 app, lol. Every time you make a selfie, the Mr.Kleen app measures your face circumference and alerts you about getting fat.

Speaking of eating, I'm heading out for some Mexican and Margaritas to celebrate getting one year closer to being a crabby old man. Pretty sure I'll make many bad food choices before the night is over. Wish me luck!!

I photo shop your head onto all of my selfies for that exact reason. I have no idea what my wife's reason was for putting your face over mine on all of our wedding pictures.
