New Wu Tang clan - The 8 Diagrams

I'm skeptical.

The last CD (Iron Flag) was GARBAGE. Good Lord it was bad.
Wu trying to go R&B - after RZA spoke about other rappers doing that on Wu Tang Forever.

I don't think they can capture the feeling of 36 Chambers or even Forever.

I'm a die hard wu fan, your words are falling on deaf ears :)

Don't get me wrong, 36 chambers and forever are great albums, but of course it's hard to follow up on that.

I liked Iron Flag alot, and it grows on you as well as The W. But if you've been following the clan, they've all gone their seperate ways and made solo albums.

Gza has been doing the best material IMO, Rza has been experimenting but his Birth of a prince cd was very original. Ghost is popular, and well the rest have been treading along.

I think when they get back together and bring all they've learned to the table, it will be real hot.

Just my .02

BUT - If your looking for a solid wu album that captures that Forever - 36 chambers feel, check out Gza - Legend of the Liquid Sword. You wont be disappointed! :)

Wu-tang is prolly my fav of all time!! Sence 93 with protec ya neck kid!!! 36 chambers ....whaaaaaat!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rza has the best flows out there imo!!

This sh*t better not suck cause they been suckin lately!!

Forgot about this one.

Trip's Glocko Pop!!!:numbered:

wet wet wet drip drip drip drop

Wu-Tang Killa Bees "The Swarm" is regular workout music.

I'm not big into the rap scene but I dig them. I guess it is the fact that I grew up and around Shaolin. Stapleton projects was a crazy place for this white boy.

I'm with you on being skeptical. Of course I would love for them to recapture what they had, but I'm not getting my hopes up. One thing is for sure though, the GZA will kill it as usual.

Killah Priest has a real good cd out now too, called "The Offering"

Reminds me of the Ironman / Cuban Linx sound. Two hot cds there too!

I've always liked wu because they had that chinese feel ... very unique. plus they are talented at what they do.

gravediggaz is nice, frukwan solo cd is pretty nice too.

Other notable affiliates:
Sunz of man
Killarmy
Bronze nazereth
Cilvaringz

At one time my wu collection on the computer was approx. 80 full albums, all their solo efforts, the wu tang extended family, instrumentals, videos... then i quit smoking dope and got a job

Tell me you don't have a W tattoo:blink:

Felt the need to bump this thread. This cd is pretty weird. It's alot different than older wu tang, the beats are mainly based around bass-percussion with subtle melodies. The flows are HOT, I think it's a cd that will 'grow on you'

Heres my favorite song (so far) on the CD:

As you can see it's alot different, but WU is about shaking boundaries and doing new things.

I wasn't nuts about it at first...but it's WU. Rushing elephants, wolves, campfire, and the heart gently weeps are all money tracks.....and the ODB tribute.

Exactly, its starting to grow on me. The subtle things Rza put into the production are starting to pop out, and I'm starting to get to know (and like) the songs. I like how they put cappa on there, and Rebel INS and Gza shined like always

I like Gun Will Go (8), Stick me for my riches (10), rushing elephants, wolves
ODB tribute is real good too.

Rza tears it up on Rushing Elephants. Meths flow on my heart gently weeps is nasty too.

Campfire the flows are sick, but the way they did it was gay, with the like 2 min into of some african woman or some sh*t........

doesn't Ghostface have a new group or **** now?

the only thing i can think of is 'icewater' which is more like a label rather than a group.

One of my buddies said that he had his own little group now called "More Fish" or something like that....

wow talk about back in the day. For all of you hard core WU fans here's a test. Do you know of the Darkman album?

Are you speaking of La the Darkman... I have heard his album "Heist of the Century."

la the darkman is pretty good. i got his polluted wisdom bootleg and heist of the century albums.

but the best wu affiliate album ive heard is killah priest's new album 'the offering' (and ive heard them all, from killarmy's solo projects, to shaolin gunslingaz, joe mafia, european killa beez, and whatever other ****ty esoteric group that is affiliated with wu)

Have you guys heard the Wu-Chronicles albums?

Yeah, thats just one of the many mix albums that wu tang / affiliated puts out. Its got some good tracks on it.

One wu tang mix cd I like is the "Wu Tang Meets Indie Culture" ... its got more underground mcs like rugged man, c rayz on it.

Other notable and looked over Wu CDs
Inspectah Deck's Uncontrolled Substance
Masta Killa's No Said Date
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx by Raekwon
Ironman by Ghostface Killah

You cant spell crap without rap. :dump:
I just cant listen to the stuff anymore. Except for a few songs/albums.

I didn't really care for Uncontrolled Substance. Also, lets not forget "Bobby Digital."

"Bobby, bobby, bobby, digi , digi , digi , stuck to your ass like a Victoria's Secret wedgy"

I listened to that album so much, I thought I was Bobby Digital...the second one was good too.

Rza is the fukcin man! (his new sh*t the afro samurai whatever was kinda weak)..

Birth of a Prince was tight too! (that track "fast cars" is siiick)

Hell yeah.

Liquid Swords is a classic ... but the new "Legend of the Liquid Swords" is real hot.

Also, Grandmaster's cd ... Gza + DJ Muggs ... nice
