Need some advice

Hey i was just referred to this forum by a friend. So this is my first post!

well ive look at the diet tracker and some of the diets yall are doing and it looks pretty cool.

so summers rolling around the corner again and i always told myself i was going to get in shape for a good swimsuit body. well like many of us that has never happened but this year im going to put a forth a good effort at it.

I am not noticeably fat with clothing (excluding tits). My problem is my man boobs and stomach. I cannot figure out how to get rid of them. I tried extensive fruit/veggie dieting and that just ended out with a noticeably flatter stomach and the same ol' boobs. one of my friends told me that i need to block the estrogen in my body. so last month i took a cycle of testosterone booster (novadex) and only saw a increase in muscle mass but no help on the tits.

I am 5'9 about 185. I have been working out in the gym going on 2 months straight this weekend (its been off and on for a few years). I run a mile on the olyptical and then do a mile interval run on the treadmill after everyday. But i do not eat healthy at all.

My question to yall is can you tell me or point me in the right direction to help me get on a good diet to help me loose my man boobs and flatten my stomach?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Everyone has different body chemistry so keep this in mind while looking through the forums here, as what works for me may not work for you.

The first thing that you absolutely have to do is start eating clean if you want to flatten your stomach and so forth. The second thing that you have to do is pay attention to the ratio of protein, carbs, and fats that you eat everyday. You should also learn the difference between low and high glycemic carbs, and pay attention to how your body reacts to consuming one vs the other.

If I have an area of expertise in bodybuilding it is training, and not nutrition. As far as nutrition goes I know what works for me, but cannot offer you much guidance.

Post your training routine and diet so that the folks here can get a better understanding of what you are doing in the gym and putting in your body.

Stick around, this is a very knowledgeable group that you have found here.

ok i will start looking at labels and using that counter to keep track of it.

my routine. i try to work out monday - friday right after school.
mon-bi's & shoulders & abs
tues- back
wed- chest & tri's & abs
thurs- legs
friday- make up day or just a cardio day & abs.

i run exactly a mile on a olyptical before my workout. After my workout i do a 10 min. session of interval running which usually equals out to between .7-.8 miles. then i swim about 100 meters hop in the steam room for about 10 minutes and then shower and go home.

my diet is horrible. I have class M-F at 9 so i get up at around 8 and take a shower and go to class. Class ends at 11 which my friends and I usually go to biscuitville before working out. I get a sausage biscuit with fries and sweet tea. After i work out i go home and relax until dinner. Neither of my parents cook so everynight consists of takeout/going out. We eat pizza, chinese, subs, cookout etc... nothing healthy at all. then i hang out with friends or just stay home until i go to bed around 1-2 AM. before i go to bed i most always have a snack of peanut butter crackers or a granola bar.

So i only eat 2 meals a day which i consume less food per meal then your average person. As for drinks daily i drink a glass of milk.. water while working out.. and around 2 soda's from the time i get home until i go to bed.

I would like to get on a healthy eating habit and schedule.

I would like to get on a healthy eating habit and schedule.

thats the only way your body will change. schedule isnt very important contrary to what a lot of guys here will say :) you can do fine with 2 meals, so long as they are consistently timed, and quality foods.

Sounds like you have a ton of free time where you could prepare and/or cook foods yourself during the day

At a first glance your training isn't terrible. It has always been my preference to avoid cardio before weights, you may want to give this a try as it leaves you with more energy to devote to the iron.

Your diet is definately your problem at this point. My advice: Get a Foreman grill, a bag of boneless skinless chicken breast, a couple lbs of ground sirloin, your favorite seasonings, and start cooking your own meals. It is alot easier than you are probably thinking. It takes all of 10 minutes to season and cook a piece of chicken or meat on a Foreman grill, and even my wife can do it (poor gal can't even boil water).

Also you should consider checking out the training section of this forum, and picking up some pointers in there.

Like I said, the way that you schedule your workouts isn't terrible but it always helps to keep an open mind be willing to change some things around.

Also you need to make sure that you don't get stuck in a comfort zone with your training. It is all too easy to stop pushing yourself, and just go through the motions.
