The a's are also a strong team. A lot of young talent over there. I'm no fan of either team, but it has been a great series so far

Something new on the injury front: R heel.

The last couple days I've noticed something pulling/moving around in my right heel when squatting, or occasionally when I stand up and start walking. It goes away quickly every time, but is a little bothersome. It's not the Achilles, a little south of that and to the left.

Basically it bothers me on the first part of the way down, goes away and doesn't appear to hurt on the way up.

For now, I'm treating it as an annoyance but Friday is squat day so we'll see...
 
Definetly keep an eye on that man. My ankles/heel were getting really sore for a while but it disappeared finally

Just did some googling, it appears it's a calcaneal bursitis. I might try to get in to see my surgeon today and see what he says. Prolly too close to worlds to do anything like inject it, but I'd like to know if I'm going to tear my Achilles or not.

Just have to suck it up...

The one I had for my torn stupid fcking brachialis set me back about a week, but was well worth it.

What I'm reading is you don't want to inject near the Achilles though.

I had a weird heel thing last march/may. Just keep motion in the heel and take it easy on it when you can. Of course if it's bad maybe a doc.

I never found out what was sore in mine as it went away after doing what I said above.
 
Are you rolling your feet with a lax ball? After getting back from my little training trip my feet were essentially fcuked. The lax ball has helped a lot, I'd like to think.

No, but I'll give it a try later today. It's in kind of a weird spot to roll though, about an inch up my foot. I'll update later, I emailed my surgeon and he should respond today ...
 
Then surgeon just emailed me back. He said it could be the calcaneal bursitis, or insertional Achilles tendonitis. He mentioned what he's done in season with athletes is dissect the fat pad in front of the Achilles to free up some more room. Down time is about a week he said.

He wants me to start some eccentric Achilles strengthening exercises in the mean time and come see him after worlds.

I had Achilles tendinitis at one point. It was horrible first thing in the mornings but once warmed up it was tolerable. Doc had me wrap an ace bandage around the upper portion of my foot (toward the toes) and then wrap it around my leg, above the knee, pulling the upper portion of the foot toward the shin and sleep like that. It kept the tendon in its stretched position throughout the night so that it wasn't all balled up when I woke. It helped but sleeping like that sucks.
