Look what those ****s at E! are trying to do to the memory of a fallen metal legend. And check out the response from Pantera's publicist:

We have received your request to license footage on Dimebag Darrell Abbott for your upcoming production of, "25 Most Chilling Hollywood Murders." ... In case none of this appears clear enough and you need a definitive answer to your request...no. The answer if no, and on behalf of everyone that was there that night and everyone that misses him every day, you can take that no and shove it up your collective asses.

And, for your second request, yes, you can quote me on that.

E! is one of the worst channels on cable television.

The sad part is, they'll still make that show, and I bet the Princess Di will be on there too.

How can she be in it? There's no proof she was murdered.

The publicists reply brings a smile to my face, E! just pisses me off.

man, that is brash of E!.

BV: have you heard the last stuff DB recorded? Checkout Rebel Meets Rebel. Its DAC and CFH. pretty interesting stuff.

"...Is there no standard anymore?" :(

The following is my opinion based on my observations. If you don't like it, I'm sorry but it's not my problem.

E! wouldn't know real talent if it came up and punched their producers in the face. Of course they will desicrate DD's death and mooch all of the money/ratings they can off of it. I don't watch the channel, but I bet they did it with Randy Rhoades and Cliff Burton as well. They are too busy with airheaded bimbos like Britney Spears whose have so little talent that their voices need to be digitally modified 100x over before being recorded and who are so low that they don't even credit their musicians and producers most of the time. I was raised in the music industry, and am still surrounded by it, and it stinks to high heaven of publicity-hungry TV channels, magazines, and Web sites these days.

On a positive note, my girlfriend is a photographer for Revolver, which I consider to be the best metal mag out there (not perfect, but the best we have...well Rip is good too when I can find it, I digress...), and they literally go way out of their way to give new bands exposure. Read the mag or visit their site, they are incredibly cool people.

Honestly bro, its really tough for me to listen to old Pantera or Damage Plan even still. I just get all choked up. I saw a Damage Plan video, forgot the title, but had shots of Vinny Paul and Dimebag rocking out and having a blast on stage...can't even imagine what VP is still going through seeing his kid brother and best friend blown away right in front of him.

Ill definitely check that out though. I just picked up the new Lamb of God album, and there are throwbacks to Pantera all over the place - its awesome.

well lemme know if you want to hear it, i can hook you up.

I've been enjoying the new Lamb of God album as well. Funny you mention the Pantera flavor of it, that's the first thing I noticed when listening to it. That and the fact it gets my blood boiling when lifting.

I didn't know anything about any of this and decided to educate myself on the matter. Can anyone confirm or deny wikipedia's entry about dimebag's funeral?

This part?

Due to insufficient seating, several members of Darrell's family were escorted out of the funeral services by security in order to make room for "distinguished guests." Later on during the services, other family members walked out due to the extreme profanity and other vulgarities by some of the speakers.

Im not sure - I didnt hear about that and I followed it pretty closely. Wikipedia is the only place I could find that stated that. I dont think that would be allowed to happen, but who knows.

I know that sounds pretty messed up if it was true. I don't know how the hell I missed this with it being so recent and so damn tragic.

Hmmm.... I guess this is as good a thread as any to say "I'm Back" (for now at least). I left my ****ty-ass job, and am now looking for another (hopefully less ****ty) job. The plus side is that I really get to focus on lifting again, the downside is that I really didn't do much of anything "good" for the last 6 months. I did not damage myself too much though, but I do have a lot of work ahead of me.

Just to stay on topic, I too think that E! is a crappy network, and I don't know about the validity of the wikipedia entry regarding the funeral.

BV: I too still have a pang in my heart everytime I hear a song with Dime on it...
