Off day for me.

Today is mine and my wife's anniversary so I treated myself to a sweet potato with my chicken instead of rice. Weeeeee

Some training notes.

I've increased rest periods to about a minute and a half between sets besides the fst7 sets.

Firstly to be rested enough for max effort and intensity, but also it's a small manipulation that can be easily incorporated so when the time to cut comes I'll have short rest periods in my back pocket.

My cardio isn't where it needs to be since I'm only able to use my arms and one leg atm. Arms tire out quickly and only using one leg I have to pedal my ass off to get an adequate heart rate lol. I'm making it work though.

I'll continue with FST7 for a few more weeks then reevaluate where I'm at body comp wise and adjust going forward.

I can't remember if it was Shelby or meadows I saw saying measure cooked.

Honestly, I don't believe that it will make or break you if you measure it either way. It's not like it will mess your calorie count up by 200 calories, or anywhere near it. Hell, I measured it cooked(and minute rice at that!) right up until the days of my shows and I have won every show I have entered, so I must be doing something right. Lol.
 
I'm gonna start measuring my chicken breast cooked I think. Takes so much time cutting/cooking into 4 oz pcs. Especially sucks when I'm prepping for 4-5 days ahead

40oz of breast. 10 equal portions.

Cook it all then measure weight and divide by ten.

That still sounds like more hassle than just grabbing a cooked chicken breast out of the fridge and weighing it lol. We usually buy the packs that are anywhere from 4-6 lbs at a time and the breast are all different sizes. By the time i trim the fat and chewy parts off it can vary quite a bit.
 
I do a little of both. Weigh my chicken for my lunches in advance, post cooking, and eye-ball my chicken for my dinners.

All other foods get weighed measured as I go.

Damn Floridians... don't know which way is up half the time! ;)

in the grand scheme of things, once you have an idea of the translation from cooked food weight to pre-cooked weight (you do lose weight in cooked meat, and gain weight in rice oats etc when you add water or whatever), it does not matter what method you use -- so long as you are consistent

I find teaching the concept of weighing to be far easier, dealing with precooked measurements..
it is a habit I stick to myself

I think the only thing that really throws meats off when weighing before is like your typical store bought chicken breast has 15% water added which typically cooks out quickly so the numbers can get skewed by about 15% however they account for that when labeling it. Then the key is knowing each breast will lose at least 15% weight while maintaining the same macros. That way if you weigh it after instead of before you know how to get the desired macros. I know when I put mine on the foreman there is a lot of water that drains off.

Feeling pretty good actually.

I've still got it wrapped up most of the day but there is very little pain anymore. If I move it just right I'll get a nice jolt to remind me not to be fukin around lol.
