mixing bulk powder w/penetrate ?

I just finished (about 1hr ago) mixing some bulk trione with an 8 oz bottle of penetrate. I used 10gr of trione.

I can see particles floating around in the solution, is this normal?


Since the bottle is dark I cant tell if there is undisolved powder, but I can see a dark cloud of something moving whenever I invert the bottle. Is this undisolved powder, or the triglyceride complex in the penetrate?


Should I store this in the refrigerator? Do I shake it each time before use?

Do NOT store in the fridge. This will make some of the compound fall OUT of solution.

Trione is a pain in the butt to get to dissolve and you might have gone a little heavy.

You might try a hot water bath, but be sure you shake VERY well before each application.

I microwaved the penetrate and Trione (not more than 20sec intervals). Would this affect the trione at all?

What should I feel after appling the trione?

I applied it to my forearms and the tops of my feet. Is this alright?

Easiest way to mix any trans is to put the carrier into a heat safe bottle/jar, give it a water bath, and then slowly add in the powder. I like to add about .5-1g at a time and then shake to ensure it goes into solution. The worst powders I have encountered are 4AD and formestane.
 
This was my first time making a transdermal. Next time I will not use the microwave. I PM'd a Ergopharm rep on bb.com, and asked if microwaving the Androstenetrione would cause it to lose potency or destroy it.

He said "It's doubtful unless you heated it for more than a minute..... Microwaves usually assist in chemical reactions but since there really isn't one to take place, there shouldn't be one. Moreover, microwaves excite water molecules into higher spin states and that causes the heat, so it's doubtful you can excite the trione into a higher spin state due to the complexity of the molecule."

So I hope it is still good.
 
You could maybe excite polar parts of the molecule. Complexity does not translate to stability ;)

But yeah, real careful microwaving vs heated waterbath should not make a major difference.

Pro - MUCH higher absorption rate
Con - possible to contaminate others by skin to skin contact.
 
well i tried alittle bit last night and didnt heat it up...and im pretty sure it didnt get mixed in the solution well. i tried it again this morning and heated it up for 15 sec intervals adding alittle bit each time and it seemed to work alot better absorbtion wise. theres nothing left on my skin and its really soft. and btw i made my own carrier. thats why i only do alittle at a time. how do you know if its working? haha
