I was looking into going back to the tanning place but wanted to know if anyone has an experience with melanotan? if so how is it or how was it? it's injected sub-q correct? it seems to be cheaper than the tanning place but need some feedback.

I did 2 runs with it, both 15-20mg and lasting 2 weeks long. This works out, as reconstituted melanotan lasts about 2 weeks in bacteriostatic water.

Melanotan II with tanning beds works amazing well. I can do a two week run, tan every other day, and look like I have been outside all summer; this is especially cool since I am irish and scotish, I am not meant to tan lol.

Just running around outside is good too, except you have a limited window to get a good amount of tan. The pictures I attached are just from running around outside and sleeping in a hammock :P

I took up to about 2mg a day towards the end. Be warned, take it in no more than 1mg injections; anymore and you get spontaneous boners. Yes, I am completely serious.

U should see how dark I have gotten. Look at my myspace or facebook pictures from the past. I turned so black. If I had more money Id do it every day. I wish they came out with a topical.

BTW I did both IM and Sub Q. Didn't matter which; I only did IM because I didn't have much fat and wasn't as comfortable with sub Q as opposed to an easy quad or delt shot. Got equally tan either way.

WAIT WTF. You telling me we have tan shots now? Where the heck as my head been? (dont answer that).

Is it a permanent aid(until say you avoid sunlight for awhile) or is it just a temp thing. How the heck does it work?

Melanotan II was first synthesized at the University of Arizona. Researchers there knew that one of the best defenses against skin cancer was a natural tan which has been slowly developed over weeks. They hypothesized that an effective way to reduce skin cancer rates in people would be to induce the body's natural tanning system to produce a protective tan prior to UV exposure. The body's naturally occurring hormone α-MSH causes melanogenesis, a process by which the skin's tanning cells (melanocytes) produce the skin's tanning pigment (melanin). They tested to see if administering this endogenous hormone to the body directly could be an effective method to cause sunless tanning. What they found was that while it appeared to work, natural α-MSH had too short a half life in the body to be practical as a therapeutic drug. So they decided to find a more potent and stable alternative, one that would be more practical.

After synthesizing and screening hundreds of molecules, the researchers headed by Victor Hruby, found a peptide, [Nle4, D-Phe7]-α-MSH, that was approximately 1,000 times more potent than natural α-MSH. [5] They dubbed this new peptide, "Melanotan" (later Melanotan I, now known as afamelanotide). They subsequently developed another analog, Ac-Nle-cyclo[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-NH2), which they called "Melanotan II". Since their discovery, numerous studies dating back to the mid-1980s[5] have found no obvious toxic effects of the Melanotan peptides. The scientists hoped to use Melanotan peptides to combat melanoma by stimulating the body's natural tanning mechanism to create a tan without first needing exposure to harmful levels of UV radiation. [6] This in turn, they hypothesized, could reduce the potential for skin damage that can eventually lead to skin cancer.

The scientists licensed their patented peptides, via a technology transfer company, to a number of biotechnology companies who intend to develop them into drugs.[7]

Nice. I was reading up on it on another site actually, though this explained it a bit more. Crazy. I am Irish/German the sun seemingly never gets me tan. So this is interesting.

is melanotan a "research chemical" or do we order it from overseas? I'm assuming it is not legally purchasable without an Rx since its sub-q

I'm pretty sure certain research companies might sell it.

edit: Actually now that I look around I don't know how easy it is to get anymore.

This looks pretty awesome. I don't know how you could get it though. Looks like it is still under development.

You could always try some tyrosine, and some b-vitamins, instead.

These help you produce melanin, which is the protein which gives your skin its pigment.

The melanin absorbs the sunlight, instead of your skin cells, thus preventing sunburn. You might have noticed that you become more resistant to sunlight as you develop your tan.

I've been on and off MT2 for a couple years now. It works amazingly well, but to the OP, UV exposure (whether tanning bed or real sun) is required. It won't work if you don't get any sun. And take heed to that advice about only 1mg or less at a time because the erections can be painful if more is injected.

While it isn't illegal, a trusted site I used to buy it from was recently reprimanded by the feds for advertising its use in conjunction with tanning, ie, so like so many other drugs now, it can only be sold for research purposes.

I don't want to get banned for listing the site here, but folks can PM me if they are interested.
Soliciting sources through PM is also against the boards rules.

It's gray market, just like research chems like nolva and clen.

You can find it from similar sites. You end up spending between 55-70$ per 10mg. 20mg is enough for a good run. 55 is the cheapest I have seen it.

They are close enough that with enough funding Melanotan II could undergo human trials. The problem is that big pharm doesn't want to spend the money and the majority of testing is being done in Australia as an anti-skin cancer med.

Ideally, they have models for an implant that lasts up to 5 years and supplies you with melanotan II; it's about half an inch long and a MM or two wide. Still a LONG ways off though.
