Meat lover's food porn.

Thanks but I was looking more for recipes and how long to cook a pork butt in a crockpot.

Like does anybody have a great rub they use for pork butts or ribs?

I like making rubs with paprika, salt, sugar, pepper, cayenne, garlic powder, chili powder, thyme, and ground mustard. You can tweak the ingredients to make it more savory, spicy, or sweet. Experimenting is one of the fun parts of smoking meats.

Great recipe! Looks good. Due you use the same rub for various meats? Or switch it up?

They just fry everything in the carnival food world... that's the secret :)
a whole lot of bbq there also-but yes, there are a lot of fried foods...i used to go to the state fair almost every year, haven't been in several now and miss seeing AND EATING all of the different foods there.

Getting some pork shoulder steaks grilled up for supper. Soak in apple ale overnight and Cavender's Greek seasoning. Dust again with seasoning and salt before putting on the grill. Mmmmm!Invalid Link Removed

I do too. My pyromaniac side comes out because I like to drag the meat across the grill and watch the fat drippings catch fire and flare up on the grates. Lol!

I use it on ribs and Boston Butts. Sometimes I use it on chicken, but I like to tweak it with chicken and make it more savory. When I do that I’ll take out the paprika and pepper and add savory herbs and lemon pepper. Works good with beer can chicken.

Now I want a Steak for Breakfast !!

I never heard of gargonzola cheese, I had to Google it

I probably would not care for it, I not a fan of Blue Cheese.

I'll take beef over Bacon any time !!
6 days a week i am up and out of the house before my wife gets up...every sunday morning she makes me bacon, eggs and home made biscuits, it's a real treat that i look forward to-tomorrow tomorrow is only a day away!!!

Home made Biscuits are the best !

Who's got plans to smoke some meat for Thanksgiving this weekend?

We are going to my oldest daughters house, but there is a good chance he will be smoking a turkey.....???????????

We always butcher hogs the weekend after Thanksgiving at my wife's grandma's place with all the aunts, uncles and cousins. Everyone helps and we process quite a few in less than a day. One time I took some ribs that I had smoked and it's kinda become expected for me to bring them now. 😂 So I plan on putting on several racks of ribs and a couple briskets.

When you have a smoker and know how to use it, it is amazing how many friends you have !

1 5.5# eye of round
2 whole chickens

That is a lot of meat, I hope it turns out well for you! Also, nice smoker. Did you make that?

Is this all for you/your family? Or are you catering for someone?

I bought it at Lowe's on clearance...and then some.
2 of the briskets and the eye of round are for my parents, the pork shoulder is for my grandma, 2 racks of ribs are for Thanksgiving next weekend and the rest is for mine..... well, mine to share with my wife and daughter. Lol!

You are an animal !!
Got the briskets on sale for $1.99/lb! My mom bought several and then told me about the sale. I had to go to a few different stores in a couple towns because of purchase limits, but I got more than I needed. Can't let a sale like that go to waste! I even went back on the last day of the sale to see if any were left. I asked the butcher if there was still the limit of 2 and he said that if I wanted the last 4 to go ahead and take em all. I happily did! Lol!

Breakfast anyone? 4 eggs and 1/4# pulled pork. Add a couple pieces of toast and a cup of coffee and you've got yourself one of my favorite breakfasts.
