When I have a sh**ty day like that, a huge cheat meal and a 2hour workout "sometimes" can make the day better. Today is a new day.
No doubt and the workout would have really helped a lot but it was Homecoming for my daughter so I made sure I made the evening about her day and not mine. When I have a sh**ty day like that, a huge cheat meal and a 2hour workout "sometimes" can make the day better. Today is a new day.
Yes sir...got a homecoming to take care of this weekend too...my youngest sonNo doubt and the workout would have really helped a lot but it was Homecoming for my daughter so I made sure I made the evening about her day and not mine.
Thanks, nice to hear it wasn't just weakness rearing it's head. My daughter is such an awesome person. She heard me going off about something that frustrated me and when I apologized to her for showing that weakness she told me "Showing weakness is strength Daddy, and admitting it was weakness is even stronger."Plumbing issues....contractors.....washing machine....day if from work......no bud????
I think you handled it well...
I probably would have lost it on someone or something ....
Sounds to me like she has her daddy's way with words tooThanks, nice to hear it wasn't just weakness rearing it's head. My daughter is such an awesome person. WOW, I must have done something right to have such an insightful daughter.
Indeed, she is quite the mini-me.Sounds to me like she has her daddy's way with words too
Good stuff! Yesterday let me know how serious I was about it. My wife even offered for me to go get one of her anxiety meds to help and I was like No, not replacing this with another drug. The idea of smoking something was simply not an option which tell me that my mind is made up, and I am simply done.I was thinking of you and your journey of kicking the herb to the curb.
Something I did in the past when dropping a habit was this, if I got the urge to say...smoke a cigarette....drop and do 25 pushups....its good for you and usually would take my mind off the habit
Those days are frustrating, but sometimes you can allow yourself to feel good too - you took a huge workload, a day full of problems, and you friggin' handled it. You know as well as anyone, you start off with a certain weight for a certain workload and over time you adjust to handle more - but you NEED those workloads that you almost can't handle in order to be able to improve and handle it next time.Touche! Okay, okay I am always an opinionated ass hat but normally it is my wife's ass I am wearing as a hat so no complaints there...
Honestly I don't think I have ever really had too many things negative to respond to you about. We agree on most things and enjoy debating over the other 1-2%. We always keep things respectful in those debates though.
For me it is because I feel sorry for you for always being wrong and I feel I have to be kind...
Yesterday was the first day of the actual anxiety, stress and just being very on edge. I lost my temper a few times which I am not proud of but it is what it is. I just have to try to do better. My frustration levels just seem to be like a river that is always about to crest and send a flash flood of emotion raging through whatever is nearby. That and a lot of things just not going my way yesterday made it a very hard day. I would have much rather have spent the day at work than taking off to deal with the nonsense from yesterday.
I was trying to go through the internal wall to my pipe so I didn't have to remove brick and deal with all of that and found out that the contractors didn't tile under my dishwasher as instructed but instead tiled right up to the adjusting feet so I couldn't even turn them to remove my dishwasher to go through the sheet rock behind. Then the contractor tried to tell me he wasn't going to fix it and I had to threaten going to the BBB and blasting him on all of his social media with bad reviews. So he told me to go ahead and break the tile out and get the dishwasher out and he wold get someone over as soon as he could to do the tile. Not willing to do that until I know how long it will be for him to get someone over. Not gonna have to stare at that while in the mood...
The people who came to fix my washing machine started taking it apart to put some replacement parts before checking to see if he had the replacement parts and the removal made it to where we couldn't even get it back together in a functioning manner. SO we have to do laundry at a laundromat this weekend if we want to have clean close. My daughter forgot some stuff so i had to run that up to her at school then she called to have me pick her up because she missed the bus due to performing at the pep rally... With all of that I didn't get the bricks mortared back in yesterday. So yep, yesterday was a true test... I feel like I failed except I didn't because I didn't go get a bag.
Tonight I am going to go get a quick lift in and then go see a friend I haven't seen in a couple years for his birthday. So that should be nice. I think I am probably just going to do shoulders and arms tonight, and then hit lower body tomorrow.
Smart kid. Did you adopt? Thanks, nice to hear it wasn't just weakness rearing it's head. My daughter is such an awesome person. Yep, it was a good workout for reintroducing myself to my natural coping mechanisms. DOMS were immediate but I already feel some growth. It felt like a fail in the middle but it was a win and growth. Kind of like training where the goal is pushing the limits most of the time what feels like failure like a missed rep is what drives the real growth if you don't let it defeat you. Those days are frustrating, but sometimes you can allow yourself to feel good too - you took a huge workload, a day full of problems, and you friggin' handled it. It isn't just the gym, it is all of life. Days like that increase your work capacity. You adapt and improve. You should feel good about it, not bad.
As far as the feet - this won't be easy, but it MAY work - can you take a flat tip screw driver and a hammer and turn the feet very slowly by putting the tip of the screwdriver on the left side of the foot, and then tapping it with the hammer to get it to spin? You may have thought of this already...
As far as the debating, you are correct - I was just pulling your leg. Honestly, I didn't know how to convey the joking over the internet so I almost deleted it, but even in your withdrawl I knew you could take it...anyone else on this board other than you and hairygrandpa I may have just deleted it.
As far as the bold, you know what they say. If you ever feel like you are wasting your time arguing with a complete moron, first make sure the other party isn't doing the same thing.
Smart kid. Did you adopt?
Forgot, they do background checks.Yep, it was a good workout for reintroducing myself to my natural coping mechanisms. DOMS were immediate but I already feel some growth. You would think so but then again, I could never pass the rigorous adoption process and she is not from a 3rd world country so that is pretty impossible.
Yeah you think that Brad and Angelina were adopting kids from other countries as a charity? No she is bat chit crazy and a lot of documentation on it. From drinking blood and all kinds of other things she did back in the day...Forgot, they do background checks.
Thanks @Rocket3015 going strong, 1 week down, had a few moments where frustration got the better of me but nothing like the first day. I got this! Probably get a bit harder on the dealing with thing s before it is over but the desire to smoke is simply not there. It's like a transformation challenge when I finally decide to put the hammer down chit happens!Stay Strong !!
Life Is Good !!
Oh I heated it up both temperature and flavorwise. Probably 2 tablespoons of crushed red pepper in there.Love me some cold Chinese breakfast leftovers
I had that Sunday Morning heat them up in a pan and cracked 3 eggs over top....Yum !!Love me some cold Chinese breakfast leftovers
Thanks, I am really trying to improve my biceps right now and the lateral head of my triceps too. I want to get that thick armed look and also have these bad boys stand up to some real work. You know you have some gunz when you are preacher curling half what you’re pulling!!!
No doubt!I had that Sunday Morning heat them up in a pan and cracked 3 eggs over top....Yum !!
Yes Sir!Glad to hear you are getting your head in the zone, you and I are a lot alike, when we can get our heads in the zone things all most get easy !!
Well it's a machine where you do bicep curls but over a 45 degree surface to isolate the...135lb preacher curls? Wtf even is that??
I know right!!!!Whew, that was a story.
You know, you have a knack for picking terrible help
At least the leaks are fixed finally!
Damn straight! He could smell the slime on that guy and your test/fury excretions. He knew what comes next....
Good boy!
Did I mention I had / still have some drywall work to do where the holes were cut. At least it is inside of lower cabinetry so does not have to be perfect but also very hard to get to for someone whose shoulder hang over the sides of a truck seat...I wanted to punch my computer screen reading that story. I hate that type of thing. And plumbing is a b*tch. I can do it, but I'd rather even drywall or something (another crappy job). So a plumber trying to screw someone...guess you found a trigger.
Did I mention I hate drywalling?Did I mention I had / still have some drywall work to do where the holes were cut. At least it is inside of lower cabinetry so does not have to be perfect but also very hard to get to for someone whose shoulder hang over the sides of a truck seat...
I think you did... LOLDid I mention I hate drywalling?
I know that's right. Oh my he was so adorable when he was a baby. Still is and such a lover.oh man, i literally just stumbled across a screenshot i took from when you first got wraith the other day to show my wife... apparently never cleared it up. Dogs are just the best. They know more than any psychic ever could
Good job raising that young lady mate. Thanks, nice to hear it wasn't just weakness rearing it's head. My daughter is such an awesome person. Thanks Big Ben!Good job raising that young lady mate.
Agreed, I used to have one but it bit the big one, never tried potatoes in there. Thanks for the idea!Pressure cooker is a godsend. Potatoes come out much more moist, rice is choreless, and steams veggies well too
Throw a cup of water into the cooker, toss the washed potatoes in, set the actual cook time to at least 9 minutes, and done! They don’t get so dry when you refrigerate them vs microwave or even oven-baked.Agreed, I used to have one but it bit the big one, never tried potatoes in there. Thanks for the idea!
It will make Hard Boiled Eggs that the shells almost fall off of !!Wife got me the crock pot pressure cook, used it for the first time last week. Love. It.
Serious! Best cooking investment in a while. Ribs fell of the bone in 50 mins! I’ve been eyeing that cinder grill lately. Just so damn pricey. It will make Hard Boiled Eggs that the shells almost fall off of !!
I have to try this; my MIL got me one of those rubber egg holders to stick inside even and forgot about it til you just said that! Love boiled eggs if they peel easyIt will make Hard Boiled Eggs that the shells almost fall off of !!

@BOSSMAN Honestly contemplating putting up a new log. This one has been subpar for me the last couple years as I flailed about with all the distractions and what not. I think with all the life changes it might be time to change this too! Close the door on the old situation and just track the improvements from here on out. What ya think?Looks like things are getting cranked back up training and nutrition wise..good job bro
I dont know man. I say keep this one. Me personally when I find a log like this, I do go back and read for free knowledge.@BOSSMAN Honestly contemplating putting up a new log.
