Klaus' CEL m-test & XPG alpha-gel log - Journey to 75 Hard and Beyond

GM
this week has been pretty rough- full body aches, zero appetite, waves of nausea, and trouble staying hydrated due to going to the bathroom.

Future father -in-law took a covid test and came back positive- im assuming since we were all couped up together in the airbnb that we all got it since the baby, sister & brother-in law all have the same symptoms - only one who is feeling okay is GF ( i think its cause shes a nurse and is exposed to germs, etc and has a naturally stronger immune system)

i am still getting a gallon of water in, reading 10+ pages and getting some form of 2 workouts in - albeit scaling the intensity way back.

Combination of slow bike commutes +dog walks for the 45 minute outdoor workouts

And for indoor workouts i am doing slow yoga flows and stretching to stay limber.

My calories have dropped significantly, on Tuesday i only got in 600 or so, yesterday was around 1000, today im sitting at 900 as of 2:40 PM and still got dinner this evening.

Morning weight has dropped to 173.2 -looking lean af and flat- not worried about it though- weight will come back with apetite and training

Time for some positive anecdotes:

The alpha gel has been very beneficial for getting good quality sleep in.
Monday got 9 hours of sleep in, Tuesday i rested/slept for 13, and last night i got 9 hours. Even though i would get up at night to use the bathroom or take advil/tylenol combo for the body aches- when i wake up i feel well rested.

GF consistently uses 1-2 pumps of alpha gel at night for the last 2 weeks and is having the same positive sleep experience. Out like a rock ( not waking up from my tossing and turning), and waking up very well-rested.

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well. I hope you feel better soon.

GM
friday evening i really turned the corner - got my appetite back, mood and energy levels back.

Saturday: 45 minute dog walk through the neighborhood art fair
45 minute lift- 1st lift back in a week and a half:

the focus was on just getting the blood flowing in the upper body again- felt absolutely shredded and glycogen depleted from the past week of illness. It was great getting the nutrients and water flowing into the muscle bellies and seeing how tight i looked. After losing 6 pounds this past week - im treating it as a mini cut and refeeding up from here- its cool to see how i am bigger and leaner at 172 now than the last time i was 172 (pre-75 hard)

Sunday:
45 minute dog walk to the park
Went to Waterworld for the 1st time ever - 5 hours in the sun on a double date swimming, riding waterslides, wave pool

Muscles were feeling tight, got a nice sun tan, and felt pretty alpha being in the upper percentile of in-shape guys with their shirts off at the water park - it's the little things!

Monday morning weight: 172.6

still taking 4 ml alpha-gel daily and 6 m-test caps - still feeling great
GF also still taking 1-2ML of gel pre-bed - still getting great sleep

happy customers here 💪

GM and happy wednesday
while i am healthy this week - looks like the GF got the same exact illness that i had last week- so we are playing swapsies and i am taking care of her.

Monday
45 minute dog walk / jog
45 minute bike ride

Tuesday:
45 minute dog walk / jog
upper body lifting session - not feeling 100% on strength - but had a good time getting a nice pump in. increased the weight and volume from last session.

I need to get back on track with calories and macro goals as i have been slacking - the apetitite is not fully back yet. But fortunately with being 173.2 right now my new TDEE is going to be 3200 for the remainder of the week and see how i feel

Today is day 58 of 75 hard

As of 9/3/2024 morning weight is 175.5 :giggle:

Another week of alpha gel and m-test combo:

GF and I have been getting very deep sleep and excellent recovery
The stats on her oura ring match. Sleep scove eery night in the upper 80s/ lower 90s
and resiliency in the strong / exception fields

Lifts are making improvements and the strength is coming back

Thursday:
6 mile bike commute
45 minute dog walk / jog
yoga + leg work out

Friday:
6 mile bike commute
45 minute dog jog
45 minute roof top tent camping set up

Saturday:
45 minute dog walk to park
Push day

Sunday:

climbing session - felt really good despite not going in a few weeks. The focus was on leading lighter grades with efficient technique, finding rest spots on the route without taking in any slack and getting good quality reps in. Very prod of my self in this session

a note on the hunger -

whatever this GI flu / potentially COVID is going around absolutely kills your appetite. When i was sick i was struggling to keep anything down, same was last week for GF when she was under the weather.

Friday night we were both so incredibly hungry and craving red meat, calorically dense food, as well as all kinds of fruits and veggies.

example:
Friday evening - rooftop tent picnick with zucchini, hummus, meat sticks, 1lb bag of cherries, fresh coconut chunks.
we were still hungry after grazing so we went to in-n-out to get some animal-style burgers and fries

then on sunday we got in-n-out again as we both were craving red meat and pickles

monday:
we were out of control LOL
we went to fire on the mountain and got boneless wing specials for lunch, climbed hard
and then went to texas roadhouse for the early dinner sirloin special and an unfathomable amoutn of bread rolls lol

GM
another day in the books
58/75 ✅
got a code deployment tonight so perfect time to write while the pipelines run.

Today's nutrition was on point, hit my protein and calorie goals, energy levels were good. My body is feeling sore from all the lifting and climbing action above

Today got some good quality workouts in, kept the overall volume low, but focused on good quality sets and active recovery.

Currently 5 chapters into re-re-re-reading Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules for Life.
Great book that I have read many times over the years since when it first came out in 2018.

I used to be an avid reader but stepped away from it the last 2 years. One of the benefits of 75 hard is that i have read more literature in the last 58 days than the last 2 years.

Atomic Habits - excellent book to start with and understanding how habits are formed
The Dorito Effect-awesome book to really understand how we are messing with our food supply - it opened my eyes
12 Rules for life - stand up straight and clean your room like the confident lobster you are!

Overall weight is stable at 175-176.5 range and happy to hold here to recomp.

only 10 days left of 75 hard and looking to finish strong.

Last day in the gym was on september 5th and will post work out below, but since then I have been upping my cardio, callisthenics, and climbing training.

Additionally went off the grid for the weekend to Green Mountain Reservoir and did some camping- Workouts included Chopping wood, paddle boarding, hiking nearby trails

Tonight i get to hit the weights and i am quite excited for it . Not sure if ill do pull or legs or maybe both??

very fortunately came into a free rooftop tent- just had to purchase all the hardware for mounting, latches and ladders. it is an absolute dream. Total blackout tent, incredibly well insulated, and the doggies loved it.
we got a second ladder and wrapped it in a heavy duty tarp so they can use it as a ramp

Looks like a good time! Reminds me of my vacation to the Grand Tetons!

Thank you very much guys!

Tuesday update:
still running alpha gel at 4 ML and m-test at 6 caps and i feel goood

Additionally GFs nightly routine for the past month has been for me to rub her feet with 1-2 pumps of alpha gel before bed. she is also echos same sentiment as before that the sleep quality is amazing, energy & libido are up, and stress is lowered. We have tracked empirically through her oura ring data. Sleep scores are consistently in the upper 80s / lower 90s. Readiness is also in the top range, and resilliency is consistently in the strong/exceptional

Definitely will be using this well beyond 75 hard challenge and as daily staples for the forseable future.

Tuesday workouts:
45 minute bike ride including 6 miles commute

went to see the new Twisters movie and got home late
Thought i was going to hit back or legs but they were pretty sore from climbing and biking - decided to hit shoulders at 1030PM
Strength is way up on the seated shoulder press. I was almost in disbelief on how nice 140 was feeling for triples.

And Belle is a golden lab/ black mouth curr / pittie mix

those are awesome dog breeds. The trainer we take our dogs to is really big on the malinois. We have a young GSD from a breeder who used to breed K9 (we had one from an older litter) and now does ESA (we have one from the new ESA blood line). My other dog is a kelpie/chocolate lab mix and I swear she's the best dog I've ever had in my life. all the great sides of a shepard and a labrador but none of the bad traits like digging/chewing.

time to do a weekend review

Calories have been on the lower side as my appetite has been on the lower end - currently hanging out at 173.5 LBS- still making sure to get 175 - 180 grams protein a day- muscle is definitely building

looking at the before and after pictures from the start of 75 hard- even at the same weight i see noticeable growth in all muscle groups - especially quads, shoulders, back and arms and a leaned-out physique- overall very happy with my journey so far.

workouts:

Thursday:
45-minute extended bike ride including work commute
PM 30 minute jogging with dogs + 30 minute workout as well
felt very strong on the bent over rows and was stoked about that

Friday:
45 minute bike ride including a commute
45 minute calisthenics & yoga session

Saturday:
AM Jog with dogs
AM lift session- hit a PR on incline bench of 225 - it was a grind but i am so proud ouf being able to hit the coveted 2 plats on incline

Sunday:
2 easy dog walks to the park
spent a day in the city putzing around and watching the rockies game at coors field

that is not something I have ever experienced lol

I think its a combo of slight uptake in caffeine + slightly increased zyn usage + career stress that I am not feeling the whole eating thing

I love to eat , but in times of elevated stress- supper easy for me to suppress my appetite- cutting was always easier than bulking for me lol

calling on the AM heavy hitters
@sns8778 @Dustin07 @Smont @Hyde @MrKleen73 @Segansational @PolishHamm3r77
@delsolrob
@LeanEngineer

Now that I'm coming to the end of this m-test and alpha gel run - today is day 71 of 75 hard - id like to pool the AM collective mind on where to go from here

Snowboard season is coming up real soon, First resorts will be opening up end of October/ 1st week of November and i would like to get a nice little stack going for the winter season. Goal is to bulk slowly and speed up recovery then come spring time run epiandro, ultra hard or this new Formeron that is getting hyped up on the forums and harden up for rock climbing season

Last year i ran MK-677 for 5 months and it helped with the recovery, and joint lubrication needed for snowboarding, i did not bloat the 10 lbs up like people say they do, but i definitely held just a few pounds of water.
Towards the end, i started getting some gyno flare up - i believe prolactin-induced- so i dropped it and the gyno slowly went away- i got the MK from a local hardcore supplement shop here in Colorado that sells their own in house brand-

This year I would like to do a slow bulk during the snowboarding season - i would be open to running MK again - but would probably go with another source (@Smont looking at you)- and probably inhibit P on hand in case of the gyno flare up.

I will continue to run the m-test and alpha gel combo as i enjoy it the strength gains and deeeeeep sleep - maybe swap to sustain alpha and give that a try for a bit

- maybe stack some new SNS/CEL products, try 1 or 4 andro for first time, Cardarine for the cardio and endurance gains to shred longer

I am open to all recommendations except for pinning

Honestly if you are looking for something to help with recovery and helping joints and muscles feel great with wide range of activities I would look into Pepti-Plex. I really like it for keeping me training hard and recovering well.

Depending on timeline of when you need stuff CEL/SNS will have endurance products that should be in line with those goals (especially if you are looking at Cardarine). I am super excited for them as well.

WooHoo!!! I am a heavy hitter! Thanks for the compliment Sir!

I do not have tons of experience with all of the new natty supplements, so I don't really want to suggest anything I have not tried, or had some experience with. However, I have had plenty of experience with andros. Not sure if you want a PH or not but if so there are several good options. One I like the layout of is the Gear Cream, it has some stuff in there to focus on building a little mass as well as helping with strength. You might need some sort of PCT after it depending on the dose you run it at. I would recommend Nolvadex / Tamoxifen if you go that route. Same price as most test boosters, but is going to do the job better IMHO. SNS does have some solid Test boosters as well if you choose to go that route.

Also, if you enjoyed the MK-677 except for the gyno you could run that again, but add in some P-5-P to help keep prolactin levels down while on it. It sounds like you found it to be effective for you other than that.

I would not hop back on another test booster right now after you just ran some. Many of them work via the same mode of action even with different ingredients. So if switching things up and try to get a new response, I would opt for a different type of product.

Also, don't forgot about the basics. SNS Creatine HCL is good stuff and tastes great.

I will let some others who have been running the natty route make other suggestions here since many of these I have not had any experience with. I stopped using a lot of the natty anabolics when I started with gear because for the price i definitely get more bang for my bucks with the gear. However, I spend a lot on health support supplements, and trust SNS completely. So I might steer you in their direction. I know they have some stuff for prolactin control for the MK, and many other natty supps I haven't tried.

When I read snow boarding, Pepti-Plex was my first thought.

I'm hoping the endurance products will be out within a couple of months.

If you go with MK, definitely keep Inhibit P or another P5P-containing supplement around as mentioned. Also, given you will be at a surplus and how awful MK can be on blood sugar levels, I’d add in a Berberine product as well. Glycophase, glucovantage, etc.

My favorite natural anabolic stack overall is Anabolic XT and Anabolic Effect, and Pepti-Plex would make a great addition to that.

I think nicotine is more of an appetite suppressant isn't it?

I've pretty much played with everything you mentioned except the MK. I'm with Steve on the natty stack, anabolic XT and Anabolic Effect stacked with phosphatidic Acid XT have been great to me. I've run all of them multiple times. I have not tried Prime or Alpha one yet but have Alpha One in the mail headed my way now.

ultrahard has androsterone in it, which gives me awesome good vibes. makes me feel 16. only side I have noticed is maybe more hair shedding. But I've run sustain alpha, ultra hard, ultra epi, and dermacine. Dermacrine seems to cause gyno side effects for me so don't use it anymore. for DHEA I use XPG DHEA During the winter.

XPG Epiandro is great as well. On my most recent run, I ran epiandrolean (oral) stacked with ultra epi (IF) to get a double dose of epi and the results were pretty solid. I'm running gear cream now. my body has completely adjusted to it so it just feels 'normal' to be on it, but my waist size today was down to my normal 178-180lbs waist size, yet I weighed in at 192.

I think gear cream, and all these other products listed would show far more progress on a caloric surplus/bulk, but they've all served me well on cuts. I've used them all on bulks and cuts except the gear cream which I've only used on my current cut, and I do think it's created an appetite challenge for me. I'm always always hungry.

Anabolic Effect, and Anabolic XT were some of the products I have heard great things about but don't have any experience with. I actually wish I had the cash to add them in now during my TRT phase to see what they brought to the table but my last 2 contest blew up my budget for a while.

I can't recall if @Hyde ran just one of them, or both, but I recall he and I had a similar assessment in how much of a sleeper product it was. Like, I don't feel them hit instant like say a preWO but training sessions seem to have more fire, and like I said before I was on anabolic XT for most of my PRs the past 2 years. Anabolic Effect definitely held on to my strength crazy well during big cuts. strength and size might not be 1:1 but there is some correlation there.

awesome trap work and that elongated upper arm really highlights the biceps and triceps nicely. hard work is showing showing!

This is what im currently thinking for the next run:

I want to run the first half of the season with the natty anabolics.

After last night's session and elevator pic, I am quite satisfied and content with the steady consistent gains - I want to see what kind of additional gains i can get with peptic-plex and anabolic effect combo. Im excited for the additional increase in fullness, recovery enhancements and PRs in a bottle

This measured approach will allow me to see what the benefits of those 2 additional supps will have- then if i feel like getting more spicy add the mk & cardarine for the 2nd half of the season

Supplement Stack Plan

October - December

  • CEL M-test
  • Alpha Gel
  • SNS Pepti-plex
  • CEL Anabolic Effect

  • Vitamin D3
  • Multivitamin
  • Fish Oil

I think that looks like an excellent plan overall.

If you do decide to use MK next year, I would definitely use Inhibit-P with it.

As for Cardarine, we will have a supplement out by then that will be the closest thing that a natural supplement can safely and legally be to Cardarine, so that may be something you're interested in. I'm not saying it will be like Cardarine, but it will be the closest that a natural supplement can safely and legally get to it in terms of results.

Alpha One has some great feedback on it and may be something that you may want to add in. A lot of people are running 2 to 3 softgels per day, but if you wanted to add it in and keep it economical, a lot of people still have had great results with 1 softgel per day. I wouldn't take out anything you're going to use to add that in, just saying it will go very well with what you plan on running, even if you go the economical route of 1 a day.

I don't have an experience with MK but I do love your natty stack plans. Depending on budget I wouldn't hesitate to throw in the anabolic XT with the anabolic effect, or phosphatidic acid xt, personally. That Alpha One Steve mentioned, I have a bottle coming in from him right now I'm excited to try as well.

Honestly it seems like you're doing the work and getting the results you wanted, a slow and controlled bulk. I never would have recommended how much cardio you are accomplishing for someone trying to bulk, yet look at your results, what you're doing is hitting your goal so keep up the great work!

thank you very much for the input - the one thing i am nervous about cardarine is the potential increase in cancer risk, so that is something i will follow along for that.

Hopefully with this stack ill be able to qualify for the x-games LOL

The deep knowledge on this forum and the excellent conversations on supplementation for specific goals is my favorite thing about this forum

Thank you for the kind words Dustin!

definitely open to trying the AXT AE combo stack as well - maybe try it for the second half of the season.

And I agree on the cardio - its a considerable amount- and once 75 hard is completed i will be scaling it back
.
The silly rule of 2 45-minute workouts, 1 mandatory outside, and having zero rest days means i had to get creative with how to meet those requirements. I am positively surprised with how i have been able to handle the increased workload - and i have noticed some significant cardio gains as well - which i think will be beneficial for snowboard season

I am so looking forward to having a rest day again

Wednesday update:
73/75

Weight is up to 176.0 again this thursday morning

Following my bulking diet and the appetite has been coming back as the week has progressed- so pretty stoked on that . Got 180 G protein yesterday

Workouts:
6 miles round trip bike commute
Rec league Volleyball - we lost and vibes were low afterward, dropped from 3rd to 4th in the league - not sure if we are going to make it to playoffs- but im happy i got to play with my friends

After this season im officially hanging up the rec league jersey

Growing up i was extremely extremely competitive in all my sporting endeavors (Cross country, wrestling, kickboxing, soccer) and I dont need to be getting so internally worked up over rec league volleyball

Solo endeavor sports where it is you vs the obstacle are much more my style nowadays (climbing, snowboarding, cycling) vs team sports.

I raise the question to the AM community:
Do you love to win or hate to lose? (no wrong answers)

Personally, I share the same ethos as Michael Jordan

"I hate losing. It's not even a question. But I respect losing, because losing is a part of winning." - MJ
