Kat's quest to get lean with LG's C2K

Of course! And you looked great in that 'kini too

Aww thank you! I attempted confidence today! It was all women and kids so that helped! Lol

Wednesday is usually a rest day because hubby likes me to sleep in with him until time for work. Since I am off this week and sleeping in everyday- I was going to train legs and just add an arm day later in the week. Unfortunately, the pain in my hip/glute area totally prevented that! I tried warming up a lot, stretching, and doing 10 mins of cardio to loosen up but the pain was just unbearable. Ugh just makes a girl MAD!! So today turned into a cardio day. I did a few sets of squats and a couple of SLDLs but I will try again hopefully Friday to get in a good leg workout! I am open if anyone has suggestions for working this mess out! Haha

Sleep hasn't been as good as usual- I fall asleep fine but about 1:30-2 am I wake up and it takes a while to go back to sleep. Last night hubby couldn't sleep either so we both laid there till about 3:30. ;) lol I managed to get a crick in my neck too! Ok I'm done whining! Lol Cardio was great! Did some intervals on the treadmill and then the elliptical for the last 30 mins.

Total cardio time 1hr 10 mins

Lack of good sleep could be associated with Hoshimotos or you just wanted to talk to your friend. Good option to not lift but it sounds like you pounded that area pretty hard at your different cardio sessions, wink. Could switch to eliptical intervals instead of treadmill. Go all out for 2 minutes then slow for 2-3 min. Do 8-10 intervals low impact. I started taking the muscle pharm Arnold product iron dreams and I've been sleeping like a baby.

What did you do to your leg Kat? I tried to read back to see if I missed it, and was wore out after reading your last workout!! :Eyecrazy:

Ahh good to know! I thought it might have something to do with the hashimotos. I will look into iron dreams! Definitely will do elliptical intervals! Will make it less boring and less impact! Lol Thank you!

Haha.. Not really sure what I did to it. It started feeling tight from my lower back to my hams about 2-3 wks ago. It's just progressively gotten worse- causing major sciatic pain and pain when I try to bend over. The foam roller helps along the glutes/hams but I just can't seem to find the source!

That's no good, any PT friends who wouldn't mind checking ya over?

Can ya do anything with these, pain aside lol

Sounds like it's possible sacro-illiac pain. All else fails look for a good PT, they should be able to help either with some joint mobility or possible e-stim?

edit: I posted before reading the movement's post. And WTH is that a picture of??

There is one girl I know. I'll have to find out where she works! I was debating going to the chiro to see if that will help! Is that red snapper??!! It's hard to see. If so, you'll have to clean them for me first! Lol

Thank you!! I know it hurts like crazy! I'm laying down now to see if the rest helps. Maybe, I'll call her up...Using a heating pad instead of ice because I don't like ice! Lol I'll have to get some NSAIDs too.

Took a couple of progress pics...patients patients patients! Scale is moving now so this gut is gonna go away slowly but surely! Lol

Lack of sleep may also be because you're sleeping in longer this week. When I don't wake up early to lift I have sleep issues too.

Heck ya! Looking great Kat!

Nice progress!

If you're getting sharp shooting pain it's either from a disk (most likely) or nerve irritation through the glute. SI joint won't give you shooting pain; that distribution is sciatic.

Thank you!!! Yes, I thought about that too!

Thank you Mystere!! It's like a tightness across the back of my hips and upper glute area. I get some sharp pains if I move wrong or too quickly. Not too much when walking right now but it was shooting down my leg earlier after the gym.

Could be muscle spasm leading to sciatic nerve irritation. Alternating heat/cold, NSAIDs (2 aleve twice a day) and relative rest is probably your best bet. I'd give lower body and lower back a rest for a week and see how it goes.

I'm thinking I would have to agree here!! ;)

:(( I was afraid you might say that last part! Lol

You can always do a chest/back concentration for a few weeks and just do cardio/bodyweight for lower body until you feel better. It's nice to do a concentration on a body part a couple times a year IMO.

With those pics, i guarantee everyone can't wait to see what your pics will be like in another 4 weeks! Your killin it, don't ever let up.

Thank you so much Pete! No way I'm letting up!!

Wow! I'm very impressed with your progress. You look fuggin great!!

Well, thank you very much!! :D

Great shoulder work and I agree with maybe focusing on other body parts. I know it will be hard to pass on squats because they work so well. It's nice to have hubby massage you but you may look for a local massage therapist who does cranio/sacral work or myofoshul release. I'll usually have a few pre paid and I'll get a 90 minute or 2 hour massage, heavenly. I'll have her work on trouble spots or release certain areas, it works.

Nice progress Kat! Killer workout:AR15firing:

Thank you BigRed! :)

Thank you! Yeah, I might ask for that as my bday present! That's a great idea to have them prepaid too! It's been over a year since I've had a massage!

oh my god that some volume. no wonder your shoulders were burning.

i got weird looks at chipotle when i said no cheese and no sour cream and no guac. theyre like you want it plain with medium salsa? i was like yup that actually oddly fits my macros as long as i take down a protein shake with it. then i got even stranger looks. could only laugh on my way out.

Thank you! Haha I bet you did get some crazy looks! It's so funny to watch how people react to the things we do- either in the gym or when we eat! Lol

Killer shoulder workout! My shoulders are still sore from the little I did the other day haha!

I'm getting used to the looks when I eat for the most part. I usually get asked how much chicken brown rice and broccoli I go through in a week. No one believes me when I tell them until they see it.

Thank you! Swimming didn't work out too well- shoulders were dead- so I soaked! Lol I bet they are in shock! Haha

Haha I know what you mean! Even my hubby say "and how many weeks is all of that fish/chicken for?" It's usually only 4 days worth too! Lol
