Kabuki's "VIDEO" Log - a little crazy fun for everyone

Man I thought you just bought a new bench to throw in the power rack, i didn't realize you created the kabukikustom competition bench lol. Looks awesome man, you ever think about selling some of your stuff? I mean look at how popular things like the Crepinsek mono hooks are, they charge $400 for a set which has got to be some decent profit.

If i only know how to weld.....

i'm going to do high end stuff like the monolift, bench, and a better rack than my current model. I'm working on a monolift for someone right now in fact.

It's official. Since the meet didn't happen I have resumed my slow decent into the 198 class. This means I'm targeting about 212 for my dehydrated morning BW which will put me about 216 walking around weight and just under 20lbs of water to cut to make weight.

I'm down 4lbs in the last 3 weeks weight 224 in morning right now and my normal 4lbs heavier during the day.

I'll try to get a few measurements in before I make much further progress, but my size 34 pants are starting to feel looser already.

Using USP Labs ReCreate and YRD to stimulate fatloss as well as Prime to maintain and hopefully grow muscular strength levels to counteract the loss of leverages with BW reductions.

Because I posted this up elsewhere recently I'll copy in a sample day in my diet.

All foods listed are from organic diet

6am 10g BCAA's
6:15 Anabolic Pump
6:30 1 piece peanut butter toast, handful almonds (8g fish oil)
7:00 6oz fish, handful almonds
9:00 4oz fish, couple handfuls almonds
10:00 10g BCAA's
11:45 Anabolic Pump
12:00 1.5 chicken breast, 1 cup couscous, 1 cup kale (8g fish oil)
1:00 10g BCAA's
3:00 10g BCAA's
Pslin
3:15 1 cup oats, 1 bannana, 1-2 scoops protein, handful almonds
4:45 training - 20g BCAA's during workout
630 10g BCAA post workout
645 Anabolic Pump
700 8oz beef, salad (spinach, ¼ avocado, ½ tomato, yellow pepper, cucumber), 1 cup wild rice, (8g fish oil)
730 1 large glass wine
830 ½ cup ice cream (ok I'll probably be cutting this out)
930 10g BCAA's

On non training days 3:15 meal is exchanged for several handfuls almonds. Will also be adding 1 cup juiced greens split over the morning meals starting next week to better balance out the PH of those meals. The almonds are alkaline but I think having some greens with them would be an improvement.

Had to get an early workout in yesterday so it was alone. So decided to do a heavy DE/style workout

Tested out the new bench and damn it is sticky and holds the setup incredibly well. It is something else. Love it!

How did you measure the band resistance?

How did you measure the band resistance?

i've got a picture of it in my video from last time i did these

Mounted off the ground from same distance apart as they are on the floor then hung weights from it till it stretched to the same distance as when I'm pulling. About as accurate as can be. Setup is dublicated but in in reverse and you can see the exact weight to get that mount of band stretch.

I pulled something down their doing these. I love em. a new exercise for new growth.

First heavy day on my new Bench Press. It is sweet!

Great night with a big bench Crew that showed up. Had about 10 guys total training at my place and there were some monsters there. Nearly half of everyone worked up to around 600lbs. There were a couple 500 raw benchers in the group.

traps look like mountains brother.

those heavy exercises and ab-work has paid off abs look good. Which brings me to a point when you are a bigger guy, like yourself, you don't have to get cut as much body fat in a competition as someone say 185 lbs. In addition, your abs muscles are strong.

had not thought about that logic. We will see how things look after I cut another 10lbs off. I think the next 10lbs will be much more visible.

Tuesday AM
Forgot Tuesday AM sled pulling. Decided to add a few extra pounds to punish myself for not pulling in last 1.5 weeks….bad move. The road is a lot sticker at work due to all the freight truck traffic and it just rained so it pulled out all the tar in the road surface.

125lbs x11min forwards and backwards.

My throat was burning and I was dry heaving at the half way point…Kind of embarrassing as I went with a coworker.

Wednesday PM

Super slow workout just dinking around. I was taking it easy as I have learned that going hard on the WOD can be very taxing on my CNS so I didn’t want to overload….and my abs were still damn sore. I could really feel them during the pullups.

Cleans
135x some reps
185x some reps
I don’t think this stuff is for me.

Bent over rows
185x12
225x12
315x8
405x6
315x12x12x12

Pullups
Bunch of sets of 10 (didn’t keep track)
Just focused on full release at bottom

Saturday AM

Sponge squats. Really focused on sitting down into the foam as opposed to the touch and goes I normally do.

Squat 15.5” foam (no belt, wraps, ect)
55x6
155x6
155(+120chain)x5
265(+120chain)x5
355(+120chain)x5
465(+120chain)x2
Add belt and briefs
515(+120chain) 5 sets of 5

Glute Ham Raise
BWx12
#3 band resist x12x12x12x12

Will be doing a bit of volume work over next 4-6 weeks…well I have no idea what my training (if any) will look like after the baby comes in a couple weeks.

Had to take a real important phone call right at start of training so I had a rushed warmup with no stretching. My back was tight the rest of the night after training due to lack of stretching.

Bench
135x5x5
205x5x
295x5
345x3
Add shirt
495x3
550 5sets of 5
First two sets were off 2board then last 3 of 1 board.
Felt strong through all of it.

Even after sleeping in this morning I just felt like crawling in a hole today. Just felt horrible. Which sucks because I had some extremely important items to attend to. But I pounded them out Kabuki Rockstar style.

Really felt like bagging training but after my Pslin&Carbs, Prime, Recreate, and YRD I decided I needed some punishemt for being such a pussy.

Deadlift
45x6
135x6
245x5
335x3
445x3 add belt
545x16 straps
650x8
Briefs

Puked up a little bit between sets. Felt I could have handled a lot more under other circumstances but I did step to the plate under the conditions.

Pullups
Bw 4x10
Full extension at bottom and pause.

if its something I know take rest when needed. when your body tells you so.listen to it.

have you always been strong the first time you did exercises?

example 185 lbs bench the first time
200 deadlift
200 squat

Damn man, that's insane. You should really do a strongman contest. You'd destroy everyone at the DL for reps event.

i remember benching 235 @140lbs as a freshman after a hard wrestling practice and with little/no training that i remember. I was doing 275 for sets of 5 after 3 months of training as a junior @ 160-170lbs.

think that first set was a PR for #3 band

Also did some Benching between sets as my partern was hanging dumbbells from bands off the okie deadlift bar. Crazy balance and control needed. Guess that’s why they call it Crazy bell LOL. Anyway did some sets with 185 and 245 w/ everything in excess of 45lbs being hung off bands.

PICK A NUMBER Please

I feel great today mentally and physically….its time to do a little show off video :)

Anyway I did some sled pulling last night. Felt much better than Sundays sled pulling where I thought my conditioning was dropping…think I was just shot from Friday and Saturdays training. I was way under time half way through my loop last night so I extended it farther.

135lbs x .5mile forward and backward.

Great mental state today as well.

OK…so the number.

I think I’m going to make an attempt at a triple BW Deadlift for reps tonight. I did 650x8 last week after a preexhaustion set. So I’m hoping for 660 for 10 or even 12 reps….I don’t normally Deadlift 2 weeks in a row however.

What should I shoot for?

750 lbs and that'll be easy I'd like to see it done conventional . i know you only mostly do sumo deads. why is this ? is it because the way you are built? or you just like legs more or this way somehow became your favorite?

Haha... what the F is right. I don't even remember typing that. Weird.

How come you've been slacking on the sled?

i'm back on it now. just been very busy (excusses) and stressed. i'll PM you later today on whats up.

just been focused on developing my sumo deadlift this last year. I did all conventional prior to that.

Well, here is the video.

Triple bodyweight x 11+ reps. Could have done more if the pain wasn’t so distracting after the 7th rep. You’ll notice after a scream “ouch” the reps really slow down.

My toe is pretty well shot at this point. Basically split the top right off it including the nail. Been cleaning and disinfecting but its been hard to get the hamburger to seal up and quite bleeding. My house needs a good mopping after all the blood everywhere. Broken as well I’m sure.

When I got to work today there were a set of Steal Toes laid out on my desk chair. I made it in late as I was disinfecting, soaking, and rebandaging my foot this morning and my guys found out why I was late.

I have to hand it to them pretty funny.

I think I can cut them down and actually affix them to my chucks. LOL

good workout despite everything

Seated good mornings - with feet hanging off platform so only heels were touching
warmup then
405x6
315x12

Kneeling Squats - Did these while kneeling on my foam box so feet hung off end and toes didn't touch floor. Worked well and certainly made balance and muscle recruitment more challenging
warmup then
495x8x12

Reverse Hyper
4x12

Terminal Knee Ext
#3x20x20
#4x20x20

Solid workout actually and quite enjoyed the change up.

Just playing with my new stance today and keeping my butt planted. I have had a huge issue with this since loosing weight. My hips are much smaller with a lot less weigh over the top of them as well, and REALLY struggled with this. Trying a feet out and wide stance now which is great as I can drive off my heels with my messed up foot.

Wearing Under Armor shorts and partners as side judges so I will have to be absolutely perfect which will allow a little give with my setup with loose singlet at competition.

Last Saturday
Seated good Mornings
Warmup then
405x9

Tweaked my back bad and spent rest of workout stretching and doing reverse hypers to try and loosen it up.

Bad shape all weekend and could barely dress myself.

Sunday
Did 15min sled pulling 135lb to try and loosen back up.

Monday
I’m not used to back injuries at all. Went to chiro on Monday morning and got some work done. Says my dorsal sacral tendon is strained and the glute tie in as well. Did a bunch of ART active release work.

Sled Pulling 15min x 135lbs

Back is loosening up but still a *****….Toe is getting better and I don’t have a limp…most of the time.

Training will take a 2 week hiatus at any time now.

Oh yeah…that was a flat back bench for the most part to not put any pressure on back.

Also fat is continuing to strip off at about 1 lb/week for last couple months. Down to low 220s now walking around and averaging 218.5 upon waking right now. My stomach at its widest spot is now down to the 35s and my 34in pants are getting loose.

About 5-7 more lbs and I’ll be in range of making weight in the 198’s

I've looked into ART. I may move seven hours away just to do Art if my insurance covers it in this particularly city I'm hopeful for. Jason Wojo has a video of him getting art on youtube. Many athletics swear by it. On a scale of 1-5 1 being the best and 5 the worst how good has it helped?

Some of the guys on elitefitness recommend it that have had bad injuries from what I read.

I know to get full benefits you go every week for six weeks..then every two weeks after, I've read

P.s. K I called apt and asked them if they cut elbow sleeves in the elbow wraps to fit a particular sized above the girl told me no. I already just order regular wraps xxl.

its simply the best. i rate it a 5 and i use normal chiro, deep tissue massage, elctro accupuncture, tens unit, ice compression, ect...you get the idea. nothing works like ART.

as for the wraps, i guess the don't do that anymore.
