Joint Home-Brew'd Formulation (whatcha think?)

Ok, so I am about to start up a pretty stout DS/PH stack coming up in March. During this time I'll be doing alot alot of heavy powerlifting and need to put together a knockout joint formula.:rocketwhore: At current I am ~215lbs and on cycle I will probably get up to ~230lbs, which should upset my joints a bit. I have 2 somewhat nagging college FB injuries, a slightly torn miniscus in my left knee (never repaired) and problems with shoulder AC joint. So here is what I have and am looking at dosing. This is the first time playing with something like this so feedback is welcomed. I've taken both Cissus and Glucosamine before in several products and it seemed to work somewhat, but now I'm looking to end all the creeks, pops, pain.


NP Bulk Cissus Powder - 3 grams dosed twice daily (Total = 6 grams)

NP Bulk Glucosamine HCL Powder - 2 grams dosed twice daily (Total = 4 grams)

NOW Hyaluronic Acid - 2 Vcaps dosed twice daily (Total = 4 Vcaps)

NOW Celadrin & MSM - 1 cap dosed twice daily (Total = 2 caps)

NOW Super EPA - 2 caps dosed twice daily (Total = 4 caps)


As you can see I'm somewhat throwing the kitchen sink at the joints. Is this over kill? What do you think?

Looks good. all these are proven to work.
 
Thanks for the input Smeton. So do you think these doses would be a good starting place? Obviously everyone is different and I am going to have to play with the doses to get things just right, but just looking for a starting formula to tweak. Thanks again.

The cissus looks fine. best thing to do is just look off a ingredient box online and dose that way. or maybe more if you want.

That's sort of what I did. I also pulled some info over the last 2 nites off the forum from users and kind of piled it all together and this is what fell out. I've always found the best way to go about things is word of mouth. Sort of like.......pay attention to what others are doing and then check the science behind it. Trust but verify. Lots of good info floating around, you just have to use the search button. Thanks again.:beerchug:
 
U might wanna increase the dosage of the EPA and Hyaluronic acid if it doesnt work in the first week...EPA always makes a huge difference in the way my joints feel...
 
yea man definitly add some fish oil(liquid forum) into that becuase that liquid form provides the best immediate recovery to the joints. The Carlson Labrotories makes The Very Finest Fish Oil which has the highest dosage of epa on the market. 800 mg epa 500 mg dha

Thanks for the input mw525. I'll have to look into the liquid fish oil. How do you take it, staight or do you mix it with something. Do you get the fishy burps after a dose? I've heard horror stories about liquid fish oil due to taste and such. Gel caps are just so easy to take.

Jared, if I tweak it after the first week what should I tweak the Hyaluronic Acid to? Would you double dose it?
 
you can try to just take it straight or mix it with something a serving is about one fluid ounce and carlson labs very finest fish oil was given an award for taste it comes in orange and lemon. the gelcaps do not provide a sufficient amount of epa and ends of becoming very expensive if you take alot of gel caps to make up for lack of potency. If you cant take the oil look into nordic naturals ultimate omega. it has pretty high levels for a liquidgel

i know some awesome fish oil that's the best ! really a good fish oil brand like now will work. if you have the money why not go superior though
 
Yeah ill take on the regular 2000 millegrams on fishoil. This is concentrated formula. I love fishoil. I have noticed how my body acts without it. IT sucks. Plus at really high doses i keep my muscle alot longer than normal. Fish oil at very doses can work as a Anti-catabolic. Just a few notes.
 
Ok everything seems to be going good. I am taking the full doses detailed above and my wife "littlejeni" is taking half doses of everything but the fish oils. The only problem is the bulk cissus. It doesn't mix very well and it tastes like @$$. It also seems to have a nac for screwing up protein shakes. I really don't want to cap it, so what has everyone done to get around the taste of the bulk cissus?

Ok I'm going to look into capping. I did, however, mix the cissus and the glucosamine bulk powder with my morning coffee. It changed the coffee's flavor abit but it definitely wasn't bad. This might be the carrier for the cissus that I was looking for. It just sucks that if I want to take my cissus that I have to make a pot of coffee. Any other suggestions other than capping?
