Jim's Powerlifting Training

Thats what i figured youd do but just wanted to throw it out there.

Yeah.

I wouldn't have even considered it otherwise, but a corneal abrasion doesn't sound like it's a very good thing so I'll keep it in mind if it's all jacked tomorrow.

I'm usually about 50/50 on whether to wear glasses, but I've never been hit in the eye before so it wasn't a priority to go find them.

Bad call.

Donezo. Hoping to go to the Japanese festival in Houston tomorrow, supposed to be a huge event with tons of food (going almost entirely for delicious Japanese food).

I went in a few weeks ago and I would've sworn it was still in my eye, but it wasn't. Doc said its like 10% chance that your eye doesn't wash it away yourself but it still feels irritated a while.

I once got concrete from concrete particle board stuck in my eye. That hurt like a b****.

So do they usually heal on their own?

How long before they do?

I stopped feeling mine after a couple days. Does it feel as bad as when you initially got it?

No, it's significantly better now but occasionally feels like their is still something there.

That's how mine was. I bet yours is out.

If something was in there it would be shredding your eye and the pain wouldn't decrease.

That doesn't sound very fun.

Vision in that eye is better too, so I think I may be OK. Will wear sunglasses today anyway, just in case it's still sensitive to the light.

Worst case you get a cool nickname like 'one-eye'.

I once got lamp oil in my eye, scratched the hell out of my cornea and burned like hell. Couldn't see anything but fuzzy for a day.

Power outage in the islands, used a lamp, must have had lamp oil on hands when fell asleep, woke up with eyes in burning pain, had to call someone to take me to ER.

Welp, taking shelter in the guest bathroom until this tornado warning goes away.

Hopefully, it takes half of my house with it so that the insurance has to pay me fat stacks.

Old dirty bastard. Pour some out for the homies ain't with us no more.

You're all over those reverse hypers. Seems as if it's not a weak link at all. Though you might be interested to see what happens if you push them awhile.

I'm going to keep the weight higher for the next few weeks and try to push the reps at that weight.

My whole body is the weak link, I'm just weak everywhere.

How is the ODB so far? My gym may pick one up.

I like it at least as much as the TDB.

Had good whip, and the knurling was good. Not sharp like the TDB, but grippier. More like sandpaper.

Interesting, will have to give it a try then.

Good to see Puma pop up on the instagrams for sure lol. I like in Matt Wenning's powercast he was trying so hard to push those guys away from equating bench with pecs. Good arm session, Jim.

How is it always the simple jobs that go wrong?

Trying to replace the thermostat on the GTO and as I'm putting it back together and torquing to a whopping 10 ft/lbs the mother****er breaks in half (the bolt).

Wtf?

Now I have to clean up this antifreeze, go try to match that bolt, and start all over again.

****.

The fck kinda bolt is that shyt?

Dang Jim should have skipped those extra arm sessions lately...flexin' on the hardware when nobody's looking doesn't get you points brah

Ha!

Its really from poor planning on GMs part, replaced both with stainless steel bolts so it shouldn't happen again.

And my overheating problem is now solved, so there's that. Now I can finally renew the inspection and registration lol.

Then just gotta have the clutch replaced and she'll be good as new.

Get the clutch for the hp you are going to have. You don't want to load in a cheap LS7 clutch only to have to end up springing for a twin-disk later because you decided to do a stroker rebuild and put a little squeeze on it.

The LS7 is extremely drive able tho, it feels like an OEM clutch should (as it is). But heads and cam is about the limit for a long service life on them.

I plan to just get the ls7, the GTO is my daily so I don't have any serious HP plans for it.

Any money I want to throw into going fast is going into the grand national lol.

Didn't have a lot of time today since I was trying to get the GTO inspected and whatnot.

Failed anyway since it hasn't been driven enough miles to reset the computer system because of the dead battery. Just spit not ready out on the computer.

Lame.

So when I got back I only had 30 minutes or so.

~80 miles I've heard to reset the ecu. What I've always used. And a GN would be dope. Just a neat looking ride; always admired them.

Got some good work in for 30 min!

Yeah, I'm planning to just do 100 even and take it back.

Clutch is going to be absurd to have replaced, but I really don't want to do it on jack stands so I'll just have to pony up.

I actually have one, 1987. Sweet car, been on jack stands for like 6 months because I took the diff apart and have been too lazy to buy the parts to put it back together.
