Jim's Back and Everything has Changed....

You're at it early today.

Not dead.

Been lifting still, just been lazy updating on here.

Missed the last Friday workout (spent the whole weekend working on one of my cars, accomplished nothing.)

Been pretty bad about doing the cardio, because it sucks. Planning to add rear delt work on Wednesday with the bag work to get the extra volume in.

Benched today:

Bench: 205 x 3
Bench: 170 x 6 x 3
Inc. Bench: 145 x 5 x 3
Pendlay Row: 185 x 5 x 4
Lat Pulldown: 100 x 10 x 3

Added volume this wave, focusing on Pecs with assistance instead of triceps.

Cardio does suck...

How goes things?

Pretty well I guess. Been training, just been lazy about posting.

Training has been tweaked a little to stave off boredom. Moved to a more traditional conjugate, keeping a lot of the same principles I was employing with the "hybrid" training just lowering the specificity a little with how far out I am from any competition.

A few highlights:
Worked to 345 x 1 DL on the TPB (hook grip)
225 x 2 CGBP
295 x 3 "comp" squat

Will update again after today's workout.

Also, added a little life to the shed today:

Instagram saying it can't process videos for any of the lifts I've done the past couple of weeks.

Squatted today:

Squats (S): 185 x 5, 205 x 5 x 2
Fronts: 155 x 8 x 3
GHR: BW x 12 x 2
Hanging Leg Raise: BW x 8 x 2

Might do some bag work before going into work tomorrow, might not. Benching for a single on Monday, maybe with a pause (haven't decided yet).

Bench: 235 x 1
Bench: 195 x 8 x 2
Inc. Bench: 155 x 5 x 3

a1. Seated Cable Row: 120 x 8 x 3
a2. TRX Pullapart: BW x 15 x 3

Decided on no pause, bench felt slow today.

Squatzzzz today:

HiBar Squat: work to 265 x 4
HiBar Squat: 225 x 8 x 2

Now off to work. Planning to knock the core work out tomorrow with bag work. Planned on doing some more quad work (lunges) after the volume sets, but didn't have time today. Oh well, the squats sucked enough by themselves lol.

Love the way high bar feels on my traps, but not the way I squat with it.

I didn't ever really like it until I got oly shoes and started Olympic lifting. Once I started front squatting ATG, it started to feel more natural doing the high bar for back squats.

Yeah, high bar feels more natural for me too. It's weaker though so I relegate it to the land of assistance

Yeah, I use oly shoes for the low bar squats. Front squats are a different story, always felt comfortable with front squats.

Hi bar is lame.

Dog tired Wednesday and Thursday so pushed the workout to today.

Bench (S): 185 x 5 x 2
DB Bench: 72 x 12 x 3

a1. Lateral Raise: 20 x 10 x 3
a2. Chin-Up: BW x 8 x 3

BB Curl: 65 x 15, 65 x 11

Air Force Pushup: BW x 36

Slept most of the day away before this too, ate at Golden Corral after.

Planning to deload next week, just doing bodybuilding type work with actual bodypart split. Got a long work week this coming week, so I know that's going to beat me up enough as it is.

Bleh, haven't been able to squeeze a workout in at all this week.

Got home at 0400 last night, slept till 1500 and by then it was time to go to work.

Expecting all week to be like this; I need this week to be over already....

Screw those late shifts.

Or club nights. Whichever it is.

Yea if a job is gonna have you work using military time it will probably be rough. They try to trick ya!

Yeah, I've been working nights for the better part of the year now and usually it's OK (I commute so there is less traffic for this shift).

But the other guy that I rotate with weekly that has to stay late crashed his pallet jack so he can't operate the machinery for another few days, so its just a lot of extra work for me at the moment.

Finally got a workout in today, and it was brutal.

Deload chest+back

a1. DB Bench: 82 x 8 x 2
a2. Seated Cable Row: 120 x 8 x 2

b1. Incline DB Bench: 52 x 12 x 2
b2. Pull-Up: BW x 12 x 2

c1. TRX Pushup: BW x 11
c2. TRX Supine Row: BW x 12

Brutal. Whole thing took about 35 minutes. Was pretty damn worn out going into it, and at the end could hardly hold myself in the front leaning rest on the TRX.

Legs tomorrow (hopefully) and then Shoulders and Arms before inventory (12 hour shift on a Friday? Fuarkkk) Friday.....

Deload squat:

High Bar: 185 x 8 x 2
Hypers: BW x 12 x 2

All I had time for today, wanted to get lunges done too but had to leave for work.

We both deloaded. It's like I was looking at my partially loaded barbell and at that very same moment you were looking at your partially loaded barbell and we were together.

That's totally all me and nothing like the Joe Dirt quote at all man. Lol

Seated BB OHP: 95 x 8, 115 x 8
a1. Standing KB OHP: 35 x 12 x 2
a2. BB Curl: 65 x 12 x 2

b1. TRX Facepull: BW x 25 x 2
b2. Band Pushdown: Purple x 25 x 2

If I'm being honest, I don't recognize that quote at all.

Bench today:

CGBP: work to 195 x 5
CGBP: 165 x 8 x 2
Incline DB Bench: 52 x 12, 62 x 12, 62 x 9

Push-ups: BW x 28, BW x 22

Note: bench felt heavy. Push ups were done with no rest during the set, just keep pumping them out until you fall down.

Deadlift: work to 275 x 4

Then leave for work. Planning to start doing two training sessions on most days because of time constraints. Will be doing all of my assistance work tonight after I get home.

Was hoping to get 315 x 4 but had some discomfort in the back with 275 so decided not to push my luck.

So I just saw this and basically the premise behind your training is to punch people harder then your average Joe :) I LOVE IT!

Bench (S): 175 x 5 x 2
1 Arm Standing OHP: 52 x 8 x 3
a1. Lateral Raise: 22 x 12 x 2
a2. Facepull (banded): Black x 20 x 2

Planning to hit arms after work today.

Arms:

a1. BB Curl: 65 x 10, 75 x 10, 85 x 10
a2. V-Bar Pushdown: 50 x 10, 70 x 10 x 2

b1. Reverse Curl: 45 x 15, 65 x 15
b2. overhead V-bar Pushdown: 50 x 15 x 2

Grinding out those arms in the middle of the night...

Just knocked out a decent deadlift and back workout an hour or so ago.

Deadlift (S): 265 x 1 x 6

15-30 seconds between sets, DOH.

BB Rows: 155 x 8 x 3

Pull-up: BW x 10, BW x 13

Cable Rows (C X-1-3): 100 x 12 x 2

TRX Supine Rows: BW x 25 (Rest Pause to finish)

Pause Bench: work to 225 x 3
Bench: 185 x 8 x 2
Inc. DB Bench: 62 x 12, 62 x 9, 62 x 8

All I had time for before work. Took about 45 minutes including warmup for this. Planning to do some high(ish) volume DB flyes and push-ups after work today to finish the chest off before squats tomorrow.

TRX pec flyes: BW x 15 x 3
Stretcher Pushups: BW x 22 x 2

Done. Just got a good pump and stretch for the Pecs after work.

SSB Squats: 245 x 3 (+belt) 275 x 3 (-belt) 225 x 10

Need to tighten the belt 1 notch as it was nearly worthless today. Planning some GHR, hypers, and lunges after work today.
