I can't imagine a more appropriate setting, apart from football, where creatine would be more optimally beneficial.

I thoroughly appreciate the effects of BA, but I'm freakishly sensitive to the parasthesia. BA might actually be, bar none, my favorite supplement, but I can't use it.

I endured it once and my results were outlandishly positive. Definite increased lactate threshold, which for a bodybuilder who emphasizes volume is vital.

I actually have never had any parasthesia. Not even 1 tingle.

Yeah, I thought it was a good stack especially considering so many of the events are about fighting out reps or lasting slightly longer than the next guy.

NO Parasthesia?!?! NONE?!?!

Morpheus, I believe we have found, The One.

BW - 223.2

Definitely learned a lot at this contest and found out that I'm a medium-sized fish in a small pond. The top guys in this contest were just on another level. It was impressive to see. On the reps of ____________ in 60s events, there was always a freak or two that were just on another plane.

Here's the report, event-by-event, and videos will come soon. The order of the events changed from the form and some of the events changed slightly. There were 48 LW's but that includes 231 (27 of them), 200 (19 of them), and 175 (2 of them) guys as well as 32 HWs.

Day 1
1. Yoke -
A straight shot 60ft run with 700#. I walked about 40ft or so and was losing control badly and dropped it, but they allowed one and only one drop. I picked it back up, and seeing the finish line fairly close, I tried to really move fast toward it...which was a mistake and I dropped it at the 53'9'' mark for about 32nd place. Winning time was ~10.06s.

2. Farmers walk Another straight shot 60ft run with 285 per hand. The handles were great and grip wasn't an issue. I wanted to make sure that I didn't drop it so I was more conservative here and finished in 17.59s for 33rd. The winning time was just over 8s.

3. Tire Flip a 700# tire 60ft. I made sure to test out one of the tires multiple times and it flipped great. Then I went out onto the course expecting a great time and had all sorts of gripping problems. There were 4 lanes for each of these first 3 events so there were 4 tires. Maybe mine was slightly different than the practice, maybe I just suck . Anyway, I got 41.03s for 40th in an event I should be strong at  Top time was upper 20s I think.

4. Log Press Do as many clean and press reps with a 230 12'' log in 60s as possible. They weren't allowing loops on the clean, but somehow I clean these 12''ers really easily. :P Anyway, I got 5 and then gassed a little for about 18th place (tied a lot of people). One guy got 12 and another beat him with 13. They did the entire clean and press in one motion. I'll have to work on this technique in the future (although I think it's better suited to shorter guys), and I need to be more stable after the clean. I waste too much time and energy shifting around.

5. Atlas Stones Load a 300# stone over a 48'' bar for reps in 60s (spotter rolls it back to you). This was a good event for me. I got 6 for around 15th or so. I really launched the first one and spotter had to run it down so I lost a little time, then I almost fell over backwards on the 6th which wasted more time. 7 is possible in the future. Stone freak - 11 reps in 60s - same guy that won the yoke and won it all - Schuna from North Dakota.

Day 1 started off horribly but got a little better toward the end.

Day 2 - felt really good for having 5 events the previous day.

6. Press Medley Press a 105# DB, 240 axle, 260 log, 275 BB in any order in as much as 75s. The 220# keg was dropped and replaced with the BB, speculation was that there were no kegs available in Utah . No one had done more than 2 by the time it was my turn. I opted for a hardest to easiest scheme and went 260 log, 275 BB, 240 axle, snatch the 105 DB. The crowd went crazy, and I guess this was my moment in the sun. I got 4 in 42.74s because I took my time to make sure that I nailed them all. This placed me around 10th. The winning time was 18s and change by Kaufman, the press master, who won the log rep event too and 2nd overall.

7. Car DL - DL a 4400 car rigged up so that it's a 19'' pull. This worked out to be much heavier than 550. Maybe 650 or so? I used the suit just in case, but it probably did little at 19''. I got 3 for around 32-38th or so. The winner got 19.

8. Block run / Truck push medley - Pick and run a 250 and then a 275 block for 30ft, then push a 9800 truck 60ft. This was probably my best finish as I got 35.22s for around 10th. The winning time was just under 30s by the man, Schuna, winning his 3rd event to take it all. He edged out Kaufman who he was tied with going in by < 0.5s.

So I ended up 27th out of 48, and about 20th out of 27 in the 231 (ie I was really kicking around those 175ers )

The event was amazingly well organized. Day 1 with 5 events and 80 competitors took 5 hours! It was a lot of fun and a good learning experience. Things to work on: 1. Core stability/strength for the log, yoke, farmers 2. DL as always 3. Conditioning - for 60s rep events I'll train 90s and I'll add in some cardio weekly.

In other news, great time to be looking for jobs at banks!

Congrats on your events. Man, those events sounds brutal, and some of those numbers you listed for the winners are insane. Especially the vehicle dead lift for 19! WTF! and a special congrats on your top 10 placings!
