Is that Powerlifting getting Ripped!? – My death by Details Recreate Log

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: I know I am no where near 12.5% BF. Bodyfat measurements on chart are likely not accurate due to high amount of internal gut fat I hold. I’m estimating my true bodyfat to be about 7% higher than what is listed. I will continue to track the skinfold tests but since my BF is actually higher it will throw off the lean mass calcs and charting will incorrectly show more lean mass loss than there will be (if there is any). The skinfold test will however keep track of SubQ fat loss.

General Updates:
It was frustrating to not have my BW move in the last 2 weeks. However I did notice this last week that I’m appearing a lot more lean in the mirror, and my waist size dropped yet again! Caliper measurements showed a significant drop this week a well so there has been a definite shift from visceral fat loss to subQ fat los!!!

I think the BW measurement may not of have changed as I quite taking Bolic which was causing to much gastric emptying for me. So I’m probably down but weighing the same as I’m not dumping a couple extra lbs each morning prior to weighing.

Strength levels are down on squat significantly right now. Unknown on Bench as I can’t train heavy due to an injury. My Deadlift seems to be going strong which I hope to gain on with the weigh reduction (probably not DURING the weight loss however).

I have changed my 3rd sled pulling session of the week to a HIIT session and may add a 4th HIIT session soon as weight loss slows. Also trying to add a couple 20-30min training sessions with assistance work during the week for additional stimulus and increasing metabolism.

As of this morning I’m on the last hole in my belt. And my 38.5” measurement at my belly button is the smallest (by almost an inch) waist measurement I have since I stated keeping track a couple years ago. Don’t know how much smaller it can go as my lower back is pretty thick, but its got some more left.

Has your trap development been solely from deadlifting ?

No. Two things.

Heavy Deadlifts and rack pulls with low reps (1-5) w/600-800lbs
Mod-Heavy Shrugs for high reps (16-20) w/400-550lbs

I'm not currently doing trap specific work but i do. Both those work well. I do other things such as seated DB shrugs, trap bar shrugs, ect to break up the routines and give my body a chance to recover...but those two things are the kicker

I can't believe i've taken 2.5" of my waist so quick.

It's a good product. A good rule of thumb is 5 lbs of body fat off for every inch you lose around your waist. This works out usually till you reach lower body fat levels. Varies from person to person when this happens for me it is when I hit around 15% and then my waist stops dropping at that rate.

Based on my theory I would say you have lost around 12.5 lbs of fat, which seem about right.

It is interesting watching a powerlifter do this. I am interested in how it effects your lifts as powerlifters aren't usually to concerned about their weight or appearance.

It is having an effect on my strength but nothing to drastic. I believe nothing that won’t return once I decide to stabilize my BW. With the squat however there will be strength loss no matter how you look at it. It’s a loss of leverages, and the fat loss will decrease those leverages. It may affect my bench as well but I’m hoping the fat loss will allow for some increased flexibility and increased arch and reduced ROM. I’m expecting Increased Deadlift, Maintained Bench, and Reduced Squat, but I won’t know till I’ve stabilized.

Your rule of thumb seems pretty accurate as that 12.5lbs is just about how much weight I’ve lost so far. And I believe it all to be fat, so it does line up well. I’m only putting minimal stock in the exact changes based on the caliper measurements.

Yes based on what I am seeing and what others are reporting 100% fat loss does not seem out of order. I actually see fat loss without loss on the scales. My calorie deficit is very minimal though. I have lost 2 inches around my waist and only lost 1.4 lbs. This is in the last couple months and I have only been on recreate 3 weeks. If you were on less of a calorie deficit I believe you would experience somthing similar. Just something to think about if for when your leveling out you can continue to burn fat and not lose on the scale.

So you are assuming that all the outer fat is being lost first, before the visceral abdominal fat on the inside ?

oops. no i meant the other way. fixed. It seems to have switched from visceral to subQ now

Things are still moving along. Not much to update as everything is falling into place. Just taking time. I may extend this diet for some time and try to really lean out. But still undecided and may call it quits once I’m within range of making 220’s.

I’ll update with some pics next week.

The last hole of my lifting belt was just for when I had a lot of lifting gear…but you get the idea of the results.

LOL. long time before i get to that...and i don't have the purty face either.

Good job anonther 1.6 lbs of pure fat, seems your latest measurements are quite accurate.

Getting near the end of my cut. I plan on continuing to lean out after my next competition in July. Before I get started on the update here is my standard disclaimer on BF measurements.

I will continue to track the skinfold tests but will not rely on that as the primary measurement and will be paying closer attention to waist size.

UPDATED GRAPHS
As you can see I’m down nearly 20lbs total now, and lost 3.5” off my waist! The data speaks for itself.

So far, as I’ve stated several times in my log, the weight loss has been seamless and consistent with the Recreate. In addition to the results it facilitates in the body dropping fat I certainly notice the reductions in hunger and cravings. It really seems to target the Visceral fat nicely as that is where the majority of my loss has been. And that was my primary concern for health reasons.

And no Kabuki update is good without a video. Raw strength really seems to be intact (although squat is suffering due to lack of leverages from fat)

From last week.

Here is a 500x10 Romanian Deadlift – sick and at the end of squat workout.

Fantastic job, lets see what the Recreate nay sayers have to say to that.

Your numbers really ended right on too. I would estimate you lost 17 lbs of fat. Your numbers say 15 that is very close. Maybe the best log I've seen yet.

are there any? i don't spedn enough time on the boards i guess.

That stuff works awesome. like i said in that other thread i went ahead and bought another bottle this AM as i'm not ready to stop:dance:

BW upon waking 228.0 :wohoo: official 20lbs down leaving a 12lb (daily weight is 4lbs heavier than AM weight that only last for about 15min) water cut to the 220lb weight class. An 8lb cut would be a lot nicer so the journey continues.

Lunch time sled pulling
125lbs x 13min

Holy crap! Those are some sick results man! I was pointed this way by a USP rep in response to some questions I had about AP+Recreate (lean bulk phase).

If my results are ANYTHING like yours I will be very happy. You look insane.

Still stripping fat everyday! i'll have some pics up in a few weeks.

for maximizing body composition you have hit it right on the money. I can't wait to drop a little more fat. then I will be doing exactly what your thinking about in regards to a lean bulk with those two.

Oh yea, I've read nothing but positive reviews about USP, so I am really looking forward to getting started (stack should arrive Saturday). I am thinking about adding PowerFULL to it as well.

this log is put together very well. thank you for it. it's hard to wade through all the nonsense and bullshyt logs to determine whether a product may or may not work.

on a side note, you're going to look impressive once you've shed some of that fat. strong is good, but shredded gets more pu$$y.

i don't know....maybe my wife will give it up more:bb3:

i'll work on that. I ended up leveling off my weight for the 2-3 weeks prior to my last comp as I didn't want to go into it to light.

ranked my 17th in world for the year (all weight classes and all federations) with my 2075 total @220

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0ib3DhA9Qk"]YouTube - Meet total 2075 @ 220[/ame]

But i'm back to stripping fat now. Will be competing in 198's soon and crushing it:bb3:

Wow, I knew Recreate was a ground breaking supp but to see these kinds of things happening, major fat loss without loss of power is so mindblowing...

updates
