A nerve conduction test has confirmed that my Ulnar nerve is trapped at my elbow, Cubital Tunnel Syndrone (CTS).
This started some months ago and I was waking up with part of my hand and fingers numb. I read up on it and had the feeling that it would end up an operation
.
Still waiting for the doctor to come up with a recommendation but I don't like the idea of a nerve transposition. I don't have any problems with muscle control or atrophy yet although the sensory part is running ~30m/s slower than the rest (I also have a MG Anastomosis, I don't think there are any motor fibres in my Ulnar nerve at the elbow, they join further down from my Median nerve - It's an anomalous thing that showed up in the test :nervous
.
Has anyone had any experience of these injuries? I banned myself from leaning no my elbows ages ago and sleep with my arm straight. Not doing any tricep isolation as that seemed to make it worse before I discovered what it was.
It could have been due to my constant elbow-leaning at work (and at home), mountain bike riding or the weights and possibly a combination. I've read that conservative treatment is usually the best but that means no bending my elbow .
