I dont know how the f*ck I'm still bodybuilding in this jacked up economy!!!

Sometimes I wonder how in the hell I'm still doing this, ground beef $4.99/lb now, gas shooting straight back towards $4.00/gal, now factor in little **** like protein powder, gear, and vitamins and **** if this lifestyle isn't through the damn roof!! And I'm not really even emphasizing gear much here, I'm talking groceries mostly!! And people wonder why there are fewer and fewer competitors now in local shows and its mostly figure chicks, who the hell can afford it anymore!! I almost stay dieting/go a little hungry year round now, hell if I cant afford to grow keep me at least lean damnit!! LOL

Learn to shop better

Ground beef here can be found for 1.99 a pound on sale as well as chicken breast and if I HAD to canned fish (tuna, salmon), eggs, green beans, and rice are more than enough to get by on a budget.

OP I hear ya! I can remember like only 2 years ago chicken being $1.15 a pound now at the same farmers market it's $2.15! Add that up with bills, other groceries and expenses = rough! However, the strong willed will survive and just do what it takes.

tell me about it.... problem is that most supermarket/walmart food is all processed corn fed crap beef anyway

to get orgainc grass fed beef- very expensive
organic eggs- eh, still expensive

non-farmed fish- hard to find, and also expensive

MILK= ridiculous how much it costs

Here in the UK it is very much worse. We get taxed ridiculously on everything. Cost of food is just getting stupid. It is nearly unaffordable to run a car. I personally have a 3 year pay freeze whilst inflation rockets and now the govt wants to make me pay more of a pension - i already pay 11% of my wage - work longer and get less when I retire from what is already a risky job. the only supps I buy now are whey and casein and even then I am struggling to justify the cost. Honestly, the cost of supps in the States is stupidly low compared to what we pay after VAT, import tax and shipping are all added.

Find a rancher and buy a beef from him. Usually they will deliver it to the processor for you. Like pretty much everything, cheaper to buy in bulk!

YES!

I do this myself

eatwild.org

find a local farmer there.. they usually sell cows in shares. I got my share for around $4 a lb for grass fed beef and it was 1/3 ground beef, 1/3 steaks, and 1/3 roast. Cant beat that deal anywhere!!

Same for eggs.. I found a lady on there who I get eggs from for $2 a dozen.

Where there is a will there is a way my friends :D

BCAAs almost doubled in price recently. I remember when the most 10lbs of ONs whey cost was 50lbs now it's 100!

Where the hell is ground beef 4$ a pound? 2.85 at sams club for 90/10... Shop sales and stock up.

You guys think that's bad, milk is like $5-$6 I'n Hawaii. Chicken is like $3 a pound. Banana is $1.20-$1.80 a pound. I used to live I'n Washington milk was $1.88-$2, banana was 29-40 cents a pound, etc... Moving back soon tho, can't afford those prices
