Hyde’s Strength Odyssey

Turkesterone is one of those products that has suddenly popped up all over the place again, similar to ecdysterone. Both were pretty popular back in the 90s if I recall, but never panned out to what they were hyped to be (ie, steroid like gains). Quality/sourcing seemed to be the key. Interesting to see if these latest ones actually have any merit.

Interested to hear how @Hyde finds it after running it for awhile.

Agreed. I don’t really care what the natty runts think, lol. Kidding, sort of.

New Titan Olympic EZBar is here! Bearings spin nicely and this thing feels solid, like it will last a long time & could take getting dropped without bending. Feels like $62 well spent

It’s not free, but $62 is great for even a decent curl bar! Time to move on from that CAP ****, lol.

Honestly I won’t be able to give it any proper review, other than if I feel joints are improved any perhaps. I mean I don’t see how I could expect to distinguish anything in isolation. This is more the same way I take my collagen peptides and vitamin c daily in the hopes that it’s helping structural integrity under the hood.

Oh, yeah - I guess I forgot to mention, but that turd never even showed up! Had to wait a month of “delays” in shipping before Amazon would refund me. So this is my first ever EZBar!

Lol, same thing happened to me regarding the Yes4All multi-grip bar. I ordered it twice and never got either. Blessing in disguise, bc the Titan multi-angled bar is much nicer. But it ain’t Rogue and it wasn’t free!

Interested to see what these new bars do for your arms over the next few months.

More weight or reps on everything again today. Sometimes, YOU have to tell the universe where you belong.

That’s a great session man! Kudos!

That is a heck of a workout !

The bolded! This is where I am right now. Just came to the realization s huge part of the reason I am having an issue gaining traction is that I am letting my body tell me what to do instead of telling it what it needs to do. Having the right mindset is key to success... or at a minimum the key to not flailing about haphazardly.

The right mindset make all the difference !!

One of the reasons I love these boards is the motivation I get from you guys. Knowing there are gains at the end of the rainbow for those that put in the work, and sacrifice indulgence in the kitchen for the sake of healthy body and mind.

Whether I'm motivated or not, I'll still be in the gym because I'm dedicated. But dedication won't squeeze out those last reps to failure. Motivation and pursuit are what gets you to the top of each hill.

Also, I am not going to use any Var this cruise & did not starting yesterday. That was based off a joint health protocol Vigorous Steve had discussed months ago, but he just reviewed his bloodwork after trying it a few weeks and as soon as he added the 5mg Var, only on workout days, his HDL tanked. So it’s not really a dose-dependent thing, and I am not trying to have horrible lipids on cruise.

I’ve edited the cruise protocol post to be accurate.

I think the Turkesterone might be raising my metabolic rate for a bit, and really seems to be giving me heartburn. I use Bioperine already in a couple other products, so I am not sure that is any contributor as I have no acid reflux issue with those.

I have been extra sweaty in training the last couple sessions, and yesterday morning about an hour after my morning dose my pits were all sweaty & I had to change shirts randomly.

Oh man, heartburn is a monkey wrench for me.... I need to be able to / want to eat. Much less sleep at night. Hopefully transient.

Did you break it?

It was honestly squeaking pretty badly, but I figured if they made the loading arms that long they’re kinda asking for it to be loaded as such. Plus it’s low enough to the ground if something breaks it’s not too long of a fall

Going to start only dosing directly with food and see if that helps. I also ordered another brand without Bioperine but still uses cyclic dextrin complex to remove that variable.

Wanted to mention that I started to deploy your warm up for shoulders before Chest day, doing face pulls and my usual plated rotator cuff warm up. My movement has got a bit better. I am little more stable on chest presses.

Thanks @Hyde

Where dos traps end doe?

They’re always pretty tall, but I think the recent shrugs and overhead raises have probably thickened them up a notch. Plus just getting back to deadlifting!

Powerful !!

Thank you- I feel a lot more powerful these days too.

I understand a lot of aesthetically minded guys won’t get it, but I have always aspired towards this type of thick physique and finally feel like I achieved it. Not that I’m “done” or anything of the sort, but I am genuinely proud of the weights I’ve lifted and the size I have built. It was more than I ever could have expected, and I’m excited for whatever is to come! I know I will not be able to stay so big forever, but I am enjoying it now.

Ate keto Wednesday - only had my dates preWO before bench, not the other 75g of carbs I’d normally have pre/intra. Protein shake afterwards and a lb or so each of salmon & tbone that day.

Fast began by 8pm Wednesday night.

Only water, Morton table salt & Lite salt, and a cup of black coffee yesterday and today (coffee if anything seems to promote autophagy, the goal of this). Planning to go at least 76 hours until Sunday morning, but I’d like to go 90 or 100. With my knee needing some healing & a deload scheduled next week, this seemed like the ideal time to let my body clean out post-blast and then ease back into lower body training next week.

Yeah that’s the craziest your traps have looked to date on this forum. I dunno if they just outangled but it’s fahkkin sick!

I like the whole autophagy post cycle concept. After my recent endeavor I’ll probably follow suit moving forward. **** works!

No they are genuinely bigger; a lot of my 2XL tshirts ride up uncomfortably high now on my neck & make me feel a bit claustrophobic at first. Looks pretty cool, but I have definitely noticed the difference.

This video was the impetus. I didn’t realize fasting improved blood values as well as liver fat, but I immediately saw the studies when I looked for them afterwards:

Shane makes some class stuff. Guy is a Pro strongman who has pulled mid 800s & pressed high 300s, coaches and produces other Pros who have done similar (Luke Richardson for one), and his models for usage are intelligent & balanced.

Definitely watching that tonight or tomorrow morn after work
Same here, maybe worthwhile precycle too. Make sure you are at a great starting point...

Day 3 of Not Eating
BW 241.4 (-8.6lbs)

A little hungry most of the time, and in general miss food - lots of time you regain not cooking or eating, but not much energy to do much with it. So boredom is also a part of the desire to eat, to have more energy again.

It’s a little miserable, but if this pays the piper some I will be glad to pay it. I think about Bostin Loyd’s little boy without his daddy now, and I want to do what I can to help ensure I will be around for my own son for many years yet.

Would going for a nice walk help with he boredom ?

Would going for a nice walk help with he boredom ?

I would definitely recommend it for any doing this! I always have in the past when I could spare the energy. Unfortunately my knee is still recovering so I can’t do any long stints right now, and it snowed again here yesterday. Not complaining though! We went to the supermarket last night with my son, and that was a nice distraction and family time. Looking forward to whatever we do tonight when my wife is off work.

I could not go to the supermarket when I was fasting ..........

I could not go to the supermarket when I was fasting ..........

Oh I had a couple impulse buys: got some southwest flavored egg whites (whatever that means), and a big juicy top sirloin for after the fast. But I love grocery shopping and never regret it.

I enjoy it also, but I never go hungry !

Day 4 of Not Eating
BW 239.4 (-10.6lbs)

Did 30 min on the stationary bike yesterday. Knee was grouchier later on, but felt good during the work & I was able to go at full speed no problem.

Stomach has tightened up a ton; it’s really crazy how much it can shrink or grow. I feel like fasting is getting easier.

Decided to get some bloodwork tomorrow morning since it’s been a couple months and I want to see where I am at after this.

Dang 4 days that’s a long stretch, be interesting to hear how it goes.

I didn’t catch it if you said, are you going into a cut after this?

Nah, this is the “cut” I expect I’ll drop a few lbs of actual bodyfat, but I don’t really want to lose much weight or size right now. I want to maintain as much of my leverages as I can until the next blast.

Don’t let the scale fool you - I will be ~247 in a couple days I bet!

Day 5 of No Eating
BW 238.8

Invalid Link Removed

5kg drop in 5 days, and I didn’t have to actually DO anything Currently at 110 hours fasted & just got back from getting bloods drawn. Planning on some LISS on the stationary bike in a bit.

Got to take the wife & boy down to see my parents & siblings yesterday. Just an awesome family day - the stuff life is really about. God is good!

You have more will power than I do !!
