Lol I thought it was gonna be a deload when I saw 50lbs come off her squat bar and the milder accessories...then I saw the 100% increase in volume over last weeks 4x3 and realized I was in for it.

Bro I wish I had some estrogen! Nothing aromatizes in this stack so I have to take some Boladiol preWO at least once a week with no AI just to keep my joints from exploding.

I actually strained an adductor once after a long Boxsquat cycle when I came back to free squatting and went to test my 3RM - the Good Girl was irreplaceable rehab honestly. The more you know...

Like Hyde said, thanks for sharing that man. I totally agree that fasting is a very spiritual journey and can really help us "reset" ourselves when in a time of physical, emotional, and/or spiritual struggle. I also go a little bit further into left field and think that the fasting environment is a totally undiscovered area of human physiology and that it may he beneficial towards mental health. I feel that it really helps develop a connection between our thoughts and our organic physiology. There was a man in a book I read that was being treated for cancer. He was conditioned to the point where if he smelled a very particular smell, with nothing that was similar, his body would carry out the physiological process of the chemotherapeutic agent that he was previously taking (he quit once he conditioned himself). I think of fasting as sort of a path, a much slower one, to maybe probe into that ability. And think that we have been so caught up on fed physiology for so long that we are totally missing out on something potentially quite beneficially.

To digress, im happy that the fast worked for you. That is an awesome journey, ive been happy with 24 hours before but this is another level of impressive.

Woke up at just 222.4 after fasting for 35 hours, big surprise. Started taking in food one hour preWO - event day lately has been me taking it easy anyway, doing some Viking Press and mainly running around helping run the events. Loading & resetting implements, running timer and giving commands, etc.

Not getting ready for any comps as I diet so I’d rather be fresher for the barbell strength moves the other 4 days basically than push my back and knees on events right now.

245 for triples 6 days ago was a lifetime PR, and my bodyweight of 226.6 this morning was a full 5lbs lower than Monday so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised I couldn’t hit it for 4’s yet lol.
 
Also the muscle pumps on this combo are strong! Been getting in 10g creatine per day but upped it to 15g yesterday.

Deadlift has felt so hard last few weeks. Then last set of 405 today I swept my lats in to engage them and stabilize my core...and it felt perfect. Threw 50lbs on and it went right up just as smooth. So apparently the last several weeks I just forgot how to pull, but seems like I figured it out today.

Imagine that - using your lats in the deadlift. What a novel thought

Lol seemed like it took that much to get prepared. Hammercurls, Cuban Press, Arnolds, Band stretching of pecs, lats, & traps, tri extensions, then more Db pressing and lots of doubles on the Axle.

I wish I could say it was. Maybe I am just a meat and potatoes kinda lifter, but 6 DB accessories with 4 sets of 8-12 seems overkill on the bro work - I can’t help but think I could have gotten the same results from 3 sets each.

Hopefully it pays out!

Yeah that is pretty intense, is this a repeat of a workout you have done with more sets added for progressive overload or just kind of random? I do really well adding in a ton of accessories on occasion but not something I do regularly.

It is a direct repeat of last week’s shoulder day except we switched the main implement to more specific one for her and went from 4x6 down to 4x5 with a weight bump.

Then I tried to make little improvements on all the accessories in weight if possible.

Yeah, I can see how that would be daunting by the end too. When I looked at the layout of the workout I saw the total overall volume, but the message i responded to didn't list the sets. So I had forgotten how many you had to do. I mean just the 24 sets of accessories is enough for a serious workout, add to that your main work sets and warm ups, I can see why it would be a rough one.

Something got angry on my left quad around the teardrop and on the outside base of the kneecap when I began the Bikini Machiney today. Even rolling it out there was way too much pain to do any more work with the quad so I hit my good/bad girls & packed it up. Everything felt hard and bad today so I had to earn that PR. Bodyweight was 226.4.
 
Ugh... hopefully clears right up. Nothing like being in a spot making killer progress and have something like that mess things up.
 
Got a good 10+ hours sleep. Boy did I need it. Tomorrow I will probably keep it to Viking Press again and otherwise just some movement to rest my quad.

We have a semi truck cab I believe set up for my gf to pull tomorrow since we’re less than a month from Norway, so that should be fun. Doubt I will risk it now.

Man i really want to travel the world and compete but 1. Im not strong enough yet (YET) 2. Im so broke i cant even consider signing up for a powerlifting meet a couple states away. It's really frustrating me. But im gonna keep plugging away at building the big 4 and then when i have some money saved up for stuff i want to move. Not sure where yet but i want to have a strongman gym close by bc ive always wanted to compete. I watched WSM as a kid and always wanted to do it. Not saying i would ever evem qualify but hey you never know unless you try

To even be on the table to try to qualify for the WSM tv show, you should be able to pull 750, squat 700, overhead press 350, load a 400lb stone and carry 300lb/hand for 60ft with smooth handles. These are kind of the realistic minimums - you can have an Achilles heel if everything else is great, but it’s about overall points in how you stack up to others on the day of comp. That’s why they have weight classes & amateur comps, for everyone else.

Amateur strongman shows are usually cheaper than powerlifting to sign up, and you don’t need to know anything to give it a go. We don’t have a strongman gym. We bought or had essential stuff made, often second hand. Some guys keep stuff in their shed and get it out to practice. This website has tons of DIY helpful info:

Saturday I wanted to give the quad/knee more rest so just did warmups to 50-60% of my weights on all the events my gf was training, plus some abs and chin-ups - nothing worth typing out. There was an obstacle course 5k at a local gym and they had arranged a semi for her to pull for the crowd. Some of the men were able to pull it, and we pushed it for the women and kids so they could have some fun too!

My sleep was definitely broken up but I take what I can get. Woke to pee at some point, then Jessica’s alarm goes off at 6 something, then she gave me a kiss at 7 as she heads off to cardio before work, then I woke from weird dreams, then alarm went off at 9:15, then woke up 10 min from 10 when I was supposed to leave for work. So we probably got the same amount of REM sleep lol

BOOM 1/4 Ton on the boxsquat! Felt like I probably could have doubled it in the moment. Set the peak to take an even bigger attempt in a couple weeks likely. Woke up only 223.6lbs as well - continuing to slowly lean.
 
Nice, do you have any specific goals for your weight loss or just going to keep it going until it seems counterproductive to your strength goals?

The changes to your physique have already been quite impressive.

Trip is the 24th so I will continue to try to shrink & stay on the gas until then - got some Clomid & Exem caps from an existing batch I’ll be bringing. I would like to break 220 by the time I leave.

Birthday was awesome. Huge bfast with friends and family out, was 81 & sunny with a great breeze all day. Bacon cheeseburgers under a cool awning outside, Keylime Pie from the best bakery in 40 miles, and ended the day with Jurassic World (which was awesome) and a pint of Ben & Jerry’s with my lady at my side. Couldn’t ask for a better day!
