how much do pro BB's make a year?

i was wondering something for a while now. does anyone know how much pro BB's make a year. i know cutler, jackson and people like that must make a good buck but how much is a good buck? our lifesytle can be very expensive, supplements, gym memberships, clothing....let alone the food bills. how do these guys do it?

I have very little understand of this actually, but from what I gather the winnings from shows is very little. Technically a pro bodybuilder makes less than a manager at mcdonalds. It is the sponsorships that get you the dough.

At least this is what I think.

Only the elite Pro Bodybuilders make a good or comfortable living, and their standard of living is not derived from winning pro shows (this would barely cover their drug bills), but instead comes from sponsorships, guest posings, and other promotional events.

Almost all of the other pro bodybuilders have some kind of other job. These jobs can run the gambit from the more obvious like personal training, to the not so obvious: airline pilots (Joel Stubbs) public servants, security guards and finally to the degrading: posing for pictures appearing in porn, etc.

Imo pro bodybuilding really doesn't have much of a future. In other sports using steroids and GH will more than likely give you an edge and make you a better athlete and earn you more money. In pro bodybuilding you have to take megadoses of roids and gh just to compete, and have absolutely no guarantee that spending all of that money and putting your health in danger will have any payoff whatsoever.
