High blood pressure

I check my pressure after working out and it was around 125/76. I then went out to eat with my ball an chain at the indian place where I consume loads of chicken tikka masala and when I got home and checked my pressure it was 147/87. I think masala is probably really high in fat and sodium but could it really raise the pressure that much? The stuff must turn your blood to honey!

I've been struggling with boderline to high blood pressure for quite awhile. I started taking 3g of l-arganine and 6-9g of fish oil which seems to help is there any other natural things that might help? I guess I should stay away from my beloved tikka masala! Or a least eat a MUCH smaller portion.

Oh yeah, do you think doing heavy weight lifting is helpful at lowering bp in the long run?

I have borderline high blood pressure as well, but have been able to control it with herbal supplements such as c0q10 (expensive) and hawthorn berry. I started loading those quite some time ago as I was going to run an SD cycle, but wanted to rehab a shoulder and stabilize bp levels first. I still take the HB extract and must say, it has helped in just one months time.

Also, things like stress, poor sleep, and pain can temporarily elevate blood pressure. Yes, sodium raises bp, but this can be counteracted with potassium rich foods such as bananas or spinach. The spinach has more of an effect when consumed raw (salad, etc)

For me, heavy weight lifting doesn't do a thing. Actually, the bigger I get the worse my blood pressure becomes. The only thing that has helped me bring it down is doing daily cardio (HIIT or steady state). For awhile I was taking a diuretic to lower it (which worked GREAT), but it left me so tired, I decided it wasn't worth it.

Best advise is to watch sodium intake and do some cardio every once in a while.

It's not necessarily the type of food you ate, but merely a full stomach will raise blood pressure. In addition to Co-Q10 and hawthorne, garlic oil capsules are also good to take.
