Here's to my first log

Ok guys, I'm working hard on getting in enough calories! I have been much better!

Today was a rest day and unfortunately a very bad day as far as thyroid symptoms go. I slept till 6 this morning and laid down as soon as I got home. I have been talking with a few friends about the possibility of taking some thyroid hormones on my own to try to balance things out. What are your opinions about them all?

I think it's a great idea, doll. I don't like seeing you in pain. :'(

That's something you probably need to do some research on. What're the sides, etc.

Aww thanks girl! You're too sweet! :)

Yeah, I've read about it several times over the past few years. I have always been scared and just hoped I could find a dr to help me! Just so tired of it all now and desperate to feel normal!

When you say thyroid supps, what are you referring to? Things like 3,5 diiodo-L-thyronine as is in FINAFLEX PX BLACK? or something like T3?

If you can get pharma levo, it might not be a terrible idea but you really should just find a pcp (or any dr really) who will write you a script. Just keep in mind you'll have to get tsh checked pretty often once you start them.

Yes, I was talking about getting pharma levo or lio. I'd love to get a dr to prescribe it but I just haven't had any luck. I don't mind the blood tests or anything! I have told them how willing I am to try anything but they have only offered anti depressants or fibro meds- which are basically anti depressants!

I wouldn't use lio. Stick with levo, 75 mg is a good place to start. Maybe entertain the idea of finding a new dr. It's weird that no one will give you a script for levo. I would if you were local.

Ok thank you! I wish I knew where to try! I have been through 3 general, and 4 specialist within 2 years! It took me 1 1/2 to actually get diagnosed and it was after I kept insisting on an ultrasound of my thyroid! Thanks Mystere! That means a lot!

Are your thyroid levels actually low? If so, even if they are borderline normal, you shouldn't have a problem getting a doc to give you a prescription. I was/am borderline low(usually seen mostly when I'm cutting), and they insisted that I take a low dose synthroid.

Plz get better soon K? Puccah needs someone 2 light that fire under her behind lls

They're basically borderline...I have hashimotos and it fluctuates from slightly low to lower end of normal. The drs look at me and say, you're not overweight...let's just watch your levels! I of course am most worried about the other side effects! I'm ok fighting my weight in other ways as long as I don't feel like an 85 year old woman! Lol

Haha thanks Movement! I won't be slacking nor will I back off pushing Puccah!!

The problem with hashimotos is that it increases your risk of lymphoma. Otherwise you could just destroy the thyroid with radioactive iodine and start taking levo.

I'd probably opt to get it taken out at some point. Certainly most surgeons won't do it until you are hypothyroid, but you may find an aggressive one who will do it; it will almost certainly be out of network unless you're in luck though.

Good morning everyone! Shoulder day! Feel a little better today- can tell I'm not 100% but always happy to be training! Had a good workout!

Sprints 35 mins- partner left so I did 8.5 instead of 8! Woo Hoo!!

Only way to get past fatigue is to push yourself until you forget about it or have a better reason to be tired right?! Hahaha

Your shoulders are strong, Kat! 15 is a heavy weight for lat raises, and the same for your presses!!

Beautiful! Thank you for always being so positive and uplifting towards us. :)

How r u feeling since u upped ur cal intake?

Hungry! Lol How crazy is that! It's like when I'm eating I get really full but between meals my stomach starts growling anticipating the next meal. As far as energy goes- I can't really evaluate that yet with all of the fatigue I get due to my thyroid and such. I'm sure within a few day that will be better! It usually only stays really bad a few days. Thank you for asking! :)

Did you ever figure out how to properly multi-quote? Sorry, I skipped a few pages because I'm lazy. Good job so far.

Thank you! I'm not sure if it's "proper" or not but I just copy and paste into the next quote box! Lol

I just use the app on my iPhone. Haven't figured out any other way. It works fine! :)

Word up. Makes it a lot easier. Just make sure to type between the brackets or it gets all jacked up and then you'll look like you're from South Carolina or something.

Hahaha will do! Can't have myself look like that!;)

I'm sure you could add a single set of 175x2+... BTW, have you been learning to skip?

Haha I actually thought about that today! I have been so busy with the cakes that I haven't bought a rope yet! :-/ As far as the squats- you're right- I was telling the guy that commented on my squats how I want to go up and he said he'd spot me next time!

You could borrow one of mine... Might be a little difficult collecting it from Australia though...
Get the guy to spot you next time & go for 175x3+... I'm sure you could do it...

I am very happy now that I've found this thread.
