In addition to the fish oil I already use,I know there are several types of healthy fats out there.
1.Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
2.Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3.Macadamia Nut Oil
4.Almond Oil

I am looking to add healthy fats and calories to increase my calorie intake.I plan on adding to my protein shakes.
Which oil would be best?

I sometimes blend EVCO into a smoothie with whey and pineapple and it's delicious!

Blueberries, EVCO and protein powder is another tasty combo, especially if you use coconut milk as your liquid.

I cant imagine EVCO mixing that well if you just dump it into a cup and shake it but in a blender I never had a problem.

Also my EVCO jar alternates from being in a liquid state and to a solid state. Does your do this rodja?

Dumb quesiton, but does EVCO taste like coconut?

It does when it's not the Summer; it's been a liquid for several months now:D

It's a mild sweetness, but nothing overpowering.

That's Weird cuz now mines is in a solid state but then again I have been keeping my jar in the bathroom so it prolly has to do with the temp changes in there.

yeah, its right at (depending on the details of what exact you got for oil) anywhere from 75-79 where it goes from solid to liquid.

If its the fat and calories u want, why not go for natural, non-hydrogenated, peanut butter. But if ur stuck on oil for shakes I hear that Macadamia Oil is awesome. Second choice whould be Organic NON-hydro coconut. I use it for my eggs in the morning

Maybe from a strictly caloric standpoint ( even then the amount of extra calories from peanut butter are pretty minuscule in the big picture) but from a health perspective each of those oils he listed are superior to peanut butter IMO. Much better 3:6 ratio

EVOO or Mac Oil would work, but the amount you should add depends on your overall macros.

thak you

I am going to try the Mac oil.

Great point

EVCO won't work too well in a shake bc it'll re-solidify.

Eh not really. I've added ECVO to my shakes plenty of times and it worked fine. Just heat up up to fully melt it, pour it in an already mixed protein shake, shake it a little more and you're good to go.
