HDTV. What's your choice?

I know nothing...
I want to buy 42" LCD. Please tell me what kind of TV you have and how do you like it. Thanks.:bb3:

I got a 42 inch plasma in my current flat. Its a few years old and the picture isn't so clear. IMHO its worth shelling out a little more so in a years time your TV isn't really out of date. 42 inch,HD,1080P, 30000:1 contrast ratio. Cant go wrong. I find the picture more crisp on the LCD's then the plasmas.

I have a 42inch JVC 1080P and love it. Even the speakers are very nice allowing you to pass on a surround system if you dont want to dump additional cash. Teamed up with my PS3 and I couldnt be happier.

I have a 40" Samsung LCD. I got a great deal on it at Best Buy, and I couldn't be happier with the thing.

Samsung and Panasonic are both very good quality choices, and with either of these brands you can stay under $ 2,000 easily.

i got a Samsung 50 inch plasma at circuit city for $1050 right before july 4th.

It was like 1200 but i had a coupon that they sent me when i changed my address

its only 720p.. but in reality... the only thing that is sent in 1080 is blueray discs and other limited sources that Im not worried about.

Great tv picture...looked clearer than the 1080's on the shelf next to it.

westinghouse 42" 1080p lcd. one of the cheaper choices, looks good. Also an NEC XG110LC Crt projector, but thats way more a PITA to set up :) but looks great on a 10' diagonal screen @ 1080i

I found Toshiba 42" 1080p for $1090, also LG 42" 1080p for the same price.
I might wait till Labor Day and see if I can get even better deal.

For now yes, but it won't be long at all before everything will be 1080p.
for me... id rather have a larger picture than a crisper screen. Digital channels are still insane quality.. DVDs look amazing.
I watch maybe 1 hour of TV a day... so its more than great for my needs.I dont mind being behind the curve for this. a 42 inch 1080 (comparable price) would look too small in my living room.
