Hanging Out At Club Myth: Are You Cool Enough?

oh man Flintstones vitamins!!! Im all over that....
That should be a requirement to join the club... Atleast two a day lol

Lol. Yeah, you can only get in if you have the red and bold sig...
that's like our secret club id card except its not secret or an id card... and actually anyone could have it lol....

I just stand on the door and look pretty.

Perhaps i should be like the ones at home and start fights with guys half my size just for the hell of it.

lol... I thought we were in this club to help people and things and donate to charity and get free stuff!! not to fight... lol but if you need a hand Im all over that.

yeah... get to work on that free stuff lol :whip:

do we have an estimated date when we will be distributing free stuff? or atleast when to expect an announcement about it?

haha. There will be a huge contest and charity event! Lets just say it is so huge that we already got over 60 bottles to raffle out! So we gotta recruit more people because we have a goal in mind to hit for the charity fund, and we want to hit it! Recruit recruit recruit!

Do something good for someone else and karma will hit you back, thats what the club is based on.

My good deed blew up in my face lol. I got a warning and everything!! Im still working on a way to push out a playlist every week. Rapidshare is the best for me but I could put it there and let someone else grab it and put it up as a torrent.

I also have been helping the little guys out at my YMCA. They do a youth fitness thinger that I have been helping out when a lot of kids show up. I give them some advice and just help em out.

I just also signed up to be a merit badge counselor for the personal fitness merit badge. Im hoping that I can help some scouts get into shape and become better people!!

anyone do anything similar lately?

I actually went up to 2 different guys over the last week and helpd them with their form while lifting. They were doing back pulldowns so wrong it was scary, so I stopped my workout to help em out!

There is a trainer at my gym who use to be an old female bodybuilder. You would think she knows what she is doing but this is a direct quote from her training a man in his upper 40's who never lifted a day in his life,
"If its to heavy to curl just use your back a little"
She constantly teaches people to round their back while deadlifting and it bugs the hell out of me so finally i pulled her aside one day and started talking with her, she had no clue that was bad form. I noticed yesterday she was actually admitting to people she was wrong and teaching them the right form, I felt pretty good about that one.

Holy smokes. I would have been pissed big time if someone would tell me to round my back doing deads! :jaw:

At least she owned up to it and was open to your advice and is fixing it. Probably not easy to do. But wow, how scary is that? Guess you have to do your research on who you train with. I'm screwed since I train myself and I simply can't be trusted.

Nice job on getting her straightened out!

I was a trainer for 9 years, I saw many come and go. The reason: most trainers suck and get hired without any knowledge. 90% of trainers are a joke, a scary joke.

yep, the internet is much better than any trainer lol. You can ask the internet anything and I mean anything!!!! and you will get your answer somewhere...lol. Just becareful what you look for...

I would like to become a trainer someday, I just graduated and realized that I don't want to spend my days behind a desk looking busy, so I am going back to school to get a BS in Exercise science then hopefully Doctor of Physical Therapy. I figure training would be a good way to pay for the DPT schooling, because it is pretty steep.

I have worked with about 30 trainers in the 4 years I have been a PT and maybe 3 had a good grasp on how to cater to their clients.

The newest plague is this fvcking CrossFit fad that is going on right now. I'm all for conditioning, but this type of training is what very few clients actually need. Hell, with 95% of clients, you could spend most of the session on posture/core work with some moderate cardio.

sorry if I sound ignorant but is it a class or just a test? I have never looked into this before... Googling it now!

Depends on who you go with. However, the NSCA, NASM, and ACSM are tests with a huge amount of review materials. I recommend taking A&P and Exercise Physiology before taking these exams because this is a huge part of the curriculum.

Get all the people you can in this thing! The better it works, the more I'll want to make another one!

Awesome! I just started doing a little fund raising myself because I am doing the Ride for Roswell, its a bike ride to raise money for the Roswell Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. I encourage anyone in the area to participate as well.

Why not just make a thread with links to all your logs as the first post and then link just that thread in your sig.
